Deepthroat Internext Report

2003-08-06 10:11:35

Luke: "I heard a lot of people were doing drugs?"

DT: "Well, yeah, dude. This whole business is a bunch of drug addicts.

"The show was much smaller than I anticipated. It wasn't like a Las Vegas huge show. It was more like Fay Sharpe's show. There weren't gargantuan booths and displays. Missing were the Babenets, LikeWhoas, CECash...

"It was a good show in that a lot of business got done late night in suites, over dinner, on limo buses. There are great restaurants in South Beach.

"There was also a lot of controversy, which should break in the next few days. Acacia was there for one day. That lawyer Berman walked around and then he disappeared.

"Max Hardcore had a bodyguard with him 24/7. It was hysterical.

"John Bennett from CENCash.com had bodyguards there undercover because his ex-partner JoeE (Joseph Elkind) was there.

"JoeE was as straight as ever. He was drinking water at his party. He looked good. His canned response to 'Hey Joe, how are you doing?' Was: 'Never been better.'

"He threw a huge party at his house with tons of hotties.

"People got partied out. The Players Pool party got rained out two minutes before Too Short was going to take the stage. The rain came in sideways."

Luke: "Who was doing drugs?"

DT: "Lets talk drugs and alcohol. The guys from Consumption Junction, Silvercash, were messed up most of the time.

"Silvercash flew out a hip San Diego surf guitar band and they played by the pool at happy hour.

"Many of the parties on boats and outside either got rained on or it was just so hot, that you couldn't stand it. I got on the GFY boat. There were about 100 people, all guys. It was so oppressively hot. It's a horrible time to do a tradeshow.

"Great hotel. Great accomodations. AVN had a great cocktail party in their rooms one night. Paul Fishbein, Tim Connelly, were all there.

"The classiest party was thrown by nocreditcard.com. They had Cuban cigars, 25-year single malt scotches. All you saw were the major heads of companies.

"It's become such a saturated market for parties. There are gay parties and niche parties and processor parties. When we started off six years ago, there were two or three major parties - Rich Botto's, JoeE's party with Ron Levi. Now there are 75 parties and three seminars. I heard this year's seminars were wonderful.

"I was surprised to see a lot of porn people like Christian Mann, Lexington Steele, Peter North, hawking their Internet stuff. You didn't see this a year ago."

KB's Top Ten Memories, and Quotes of Internext

10). Wonderful cocktail party thrown by AVN in the Presidential Suite my bro D$ and J$ had- ( I was lucky to share the extra bedroom for two nights), little did i know earlier that evening that the glass door may appear to be open , when it is NOT. J Styles saw me almost concuss myself silly.

9). David from Python asking a certain big head honcho of a major company [ACPays, an Armenian?] if that was his daughter he was with. PRICELESS for those of you know who.

8). Talking to the guys at Sexinc about my new Too Short venture to which they said "hey man that's way cool!, I love Too Short he is old school!" then I said well turn around and say hello...and he appeared to shake their hand and both guys turned white as a ghost, great laugh. They had no idea he was in the party.

7). DJ Evan speaking into a lamp at 5:00 am tony soprano style while discussing proprietary info, ten minutes after J styles informed him that the FBI had an office on the floor :-))
westin DIPLOMAT- dignitaries stay there from all over the world people.....wow.

6). Players Pool party kicks it off hot with a performance from YT Cracker freestylin' I get a call from Too Short he is on the way at 8:30, he is on at 9 - 8:45 torrential monsoon hits the Westin. Turntables and D$'s hopes were all washed away- until later that evening.

5). Too Short playing for 100 lucky webmasters upstairs with a bar set up in a cool ballroom with a balcony- performing his old school classics over Evan from XPAYS killer break beats! CLASSIC MEMORY.

And the number ONE quote and memory of the tradeshow goes to SWEET T!

Driving on the way to the wonderful webquest/ Hustler dinner at AGO in South Beach aboard the NATIONAL NET EXPRESS J Styles asks if anyone has read the recent WIRED MAG article on Gary and Sex.com- I begin to cringe because I am with my date and know where this is about to go-

The quote they took from me in case you haven't read the article was along the lines of introdcuing a new girlfriend to Gary and saying she sucks cock like you wouldn't believe....

Uopn hearing that "pigtails" as I will call her gasps and shakes her head. Tony says' Well maybe tonight if we run into any reporters you could tell em how well this one does double anal, double vaginal...."

Thank G-d I think she took ten xanax's that night- it'd all she ate at AGO, well that and a piece of Gnocci...

Classy or Trashy? Behavior at Internext Convention
2003-08-07 10:01:29
MikeAI writes on Oprano.com: I remember the first show I went to in Orlando... it was a pretty low key affair, the only real party I remember being outside the hotel was thrown by Python at a local strip club. This convention is the one where everyone was a newbie, and lots of great friendships and business associates were made.

This last show, I strolled over to the GFY Boat party to say hello to Lensman, and I was pretty distrubed at what I saw....

[Picture of a girl peeing and Easton, male performer, trying to lick her simultaneously.]

When I saw this unfold in front of me on the ship, I knew it was time to leave.... the guy also pissed all over the boat as well.

This is the problem with our industry.... there is a lack of professionalism... there is a group of people who are more thrilled to be part of the show, then understand that this is a BUSINESS!!

I am far from a prude, and if people want to urinate on each other, or in cups ands drink it in private... I am all for it.... but to do it at a party, a "business party", that is why this industry continue to head South quickly.

Sextoyking writes: Everyone thinks these parties are the downfall of this industry? No, the downfall is shady business practices, the VISA monopoly, the bullsh-t billing tricks, the LARGE amount of free hardcore porn available, overeducated surfers and our whole taboo factor (of course, the taboo factor is what keeps us in business).

Gonzo writes: I know Kayla personally and she told me that Lens dared her to do it so she went for it.

Colin writes: It's interesting to watch the change. The way the parties are now is the way I thought they would be back at my first show (Orlando). That was the tamest show ever. It was a big deal that DJ-JD brought 3 strippers with him. No content parties. Very mellow.

I've been surprised at how far the public parties have gone. It was usually only the private, small parties that had the live sex shows. Now it is the big heavily attended ones.

Fatbaby writes: I thought it was just me showing my age, but I never understood how one conducted business in a 'circus' atmosphere where you can not hear yourself talk... lol

Professionalism needs to be shown, now more than ever, especially in the 'public eye' so to speak.... we dont need any more adverse publicity, and situations like this will certainly attracth that....

I know that private parties and smaller gatherings, are all that a number of people will attend anymore.... a number of us just had such a gathering in Vegas last week, it was fruitful, laid back, and LOTS of biz taken care of with like minded folks....

Will the Internext style events go away? I highly doubt it... people want to get crazy, and dont think of the long term consequences.

Ulfie writes: I was standing there with MikeAI when that happened and I was shocked. After she did that some guy started pissing on the wall. It definately was disturbing and disgusting. Some people treat this as a business, some people don't. That's the problem when you have no barriers to entry into a business, you end up with people that work for beer money and are just there to party at an industry convention.

Brad Shaw writes: Things like this are the reason I did not attend Miami and may never attend another show. There is a serious lack of a professional business atmosphere. I think we are seeing more businessmen staying home, or doing private affairs at shows, thus these idiots stick out even more.

I also heard the open use of drugs was rampant. One thing to do drugs on the down low, it is another to do them out in public and gloat about it.

You have that idiots like easton who OD's on coke and was back at the hotel doing more coke the next day, and bragging about it on the chat boards.

One day a drug bust will happen at a show, and some innocent people will be caught in the middle. Limo gets pulled over full of coke, or a small room party where coke is everywhere, cops will arrest everyone. There are some people in this business with serious drug problems.

FYI, people ask me all the time why we no longer sponsor parties. Two reasons.

#1 Better to do small affairs and take people to private dinners. In Miami, we did 3 dinners for 8-10 people. Anymore than that and it can be hard to talk biz.

#2 Liability issues abound.

Sykkboy writes: Drugs have always been a part of this industry and always will be.

It used to be a more hush hush thing though...but I've never been to a show where at least 2-3 peaopl haven't come up to me and said "hey, let's go up to such and such's room and smoke some pot" or "snort a couple lines".

I've been to "real" business conferences that were the same way. The parties were insane, out of hand and filled with drugs, hookers and all vices exploited.

Parties were NEVER where business happened. Why should they be? Go to the convention for the business and the parties to let off some steam.

f-ck, even at some of the big restaurant industry conventions I attended, business was done on the show floor or in private meetings, never at parties.

Everyone thinks these parties are the downfall of this industry? No, the downfall is shady business practices, the VISA monopoly, the bullsh-t billing tricks, the LARGE amount of free hardcore porn available, overeducated surfers and our whole taboo factor (of course, the taboo factor is what keeps us in business).

Photogregg writes: The best party we went to for networking and doing biz was at JoeE's.

No loud music so we could talk

Great bbq and relaxing atmosphere at his house

No nudity, but still some eyecandy with a bikini contest.

Fay Sharpe writes: When this sort of conduct goes on - it is damn hard to find a hotel that you feel safe in booking. I am sure that we have had these things go on at Cybernets - but they are kept very low key and more private.

Just today, in discussing some things about a possible 2004 future Cybernet, I looked at a location on the website, with a wide spread beach. My first thoughts were..."how do you control what goes on there when the photographers arrive, without going nuts?" We could have to non- consider a great location, just because the attendees don't know how to conduct themselves in public.

I am glad to see this discussion and hear that not everyone thinks you need to hype up or advertise live sex shows or extreme fetish demonstrations at conventions. My opinion is that I want them so private that I don't even hear about them!

MikeAI writes: Meni - partying, drugs, getting naked are all fine... they do not bother me. It is destroying other peoples property that bothers me. Pissing on a boat ( inside on carpet) you do not own on purpose is just destructive. I doubt Easton would like it if we went to his house and peed on his sofa!

Hell Puppy writes: Seems we're getting more people who wanna go to the conventions to get high on their own supply. They aren't there for business, they're there to party and for the occasional cheap thrill. I chuckle everytime I see pics from convention sex shows or photoshoots and you see guys stacked 4 deep holding their cameras over each other trying to get that shot of the action.

It's kinda sad that they're in this industry and are that desperate to get a pic of some nekkid ass....
