Tera Show Goes On Without Tera
2002-12-11 09:06:53

Digital Playground's problems with their contract girl Tera Patrick began with the arrival of rocker Evan Seinfeld in her life in September.

After the last Tera Show, on November 12, DP expected Tera to be back for her next show 12/10. Then Tera disappeared to Europe where she reportedly married Evan, who has two illegitimate children. He's never married.

DP has not heard from Tera since. They did hear a few weeks ago from Tera's newly hired lawyer who wants to get her out of her contract with DP. DP is not so willing.

DP expects that things will run their course with Tera Patrick and she will be back soon. DP sees Evan as the disruptive force.

It's not clear what Evan's game plan is. Does he want her to work for other companies or does he want her out of the industry?

How is Evan going to financially support her as his TV show Oz has been canceled and his band BioHazard doesn't make money?

I've heard Tera say on her show that she would never do porn if she were married. Any man who would accept that of her is not the man for her.

MikeSouth.com says that the Night Calls set is now closed to "unnecessary extras" after Tera's boyfriend disrupted things on a recent live broadcast.

Jasoncurious.com reports: With Digital Playground contract super star, Tera Patrick’s, future in adult entertainment under so much media scrutiny as of late, most of the industry was on the edge of their seats to see if Patrick would indeed show up to host Tera Show yesterday evening. If Patrick had shown for last night’s Tera Show, it would have been made clear that she intended to nurture a healthy relationship with Digital Playground. However, Patrick was a no-show last night, leaving many to wonder just what her intentions with the company are at this point.

Even more interesting, perhaps, was Digital’s choice of guest host, for the evening. The company contacted Patrick’s former best friend and roommate, Sam Phillips, of nationally syndicated network morning talk show, Men Are From Mars/Women Are From Venus fame, to sit in on the Tera couch, interviewing Bunny Luv, Kikki Dare, Robby D., and “Virgin Vixen” Jordan. I spoke with Phillips late yesterday evening, following the show, and she sees the Playground’s hiring her to be more out of desperation than vindictiveness. “I was told that [Tera] is currently in New York, but that she would be returning to do Playboy’s Night Calls 411 tomorrow. I got the call from Digital Playground in the late part of the day. They had tried some other options first that were not available and felt that I would be more than capable of performing the duties, since it’s what I do for a living, and I’ve been on her show in the past, so I know the format.”

As for her own relationship with Patrick, Phillips claims to have not spoken to the porn star since February of this year. “I wouldn’t consider her exactly close,” says Phillips, who, prior to February, seemed attached to the hip of Patrick, with the two of them constantly “reffering” to each other as best friends. “It would be safe to say that we are no longer best friends.”

And just how will Tera Patrick react to hearing that her former best bud took her place on yesterday evening’s program? “I can’t imagine that she would be too upset,” says Phillips. “I did her a favor by filling in when she wouldn’t be available. I think she’d be more upset if her legion of fans were not able to see a broadcast.”

Digital Playground claims Patrick will indeed be hosting the next Tera Show, slated for the 14th with Bridgette Kerkove and Nakita Denise. Of course, they also claimed that Patrick would host yesterday evening’s show, in a press release sent out by the company’s publicist, Adella O’Neal, just hours before the broadcast. So at this point, it’s safe to say that it’s anybody’s guess!

“If she’s smart, she’ll be at her next show,” comments Phillips. “From what I understand, she does have a contract to uphold.”

I asked Sam , if she could say anything to ex-friend Patrick right now, what would it be, to which, she answered, “Where the f-ck are you, girl? I haven’t spoken to you in so long. I hope you’re well.”

You can catch Sam Phillips as my once-a-month co-host of, The Young & the Curious, at KSEXRadio.com.

..........

Sam Phillips says "Fuzzy" made a pass at her.

Luke: "Who's Fuzzy? A dog?"

No. Fuzzy is Sam's boyfriend.

Digital Playground director Robby D was Sam's first guest Tuesday night. She smelt under his arm and said he smelled "manly." Robby D took offense.

Sam: "Would you prefer that I said you smelled womanly?"

Sam asks Robby about his work as a sex performer in front of the camera. She makes him blush. She asks him about his sexual preferences and practices. He blushes.

Next guest is Bunny Luv, followed by Kiki D'Aire and "Virgin Vixen" Jordan, who's represented by Roy Garcia, who discovered Bunny Luv and Kiki D'Aire.

Sam tells Jordan that she needs to warn her father that she's entered porn in case he might pleasure himself over a magazine or video one day and suddenly discover his daughter.

Jordan is married but her husband has no problem sharing her.

Kiki, Bunny and Jordan sit on the couch with Sam and discussed choking and other forms of rough sex.

Sam: "I've never done that. I'm the odd woman out. I have abuse issues. I had a dysfunctional childhood. It brings back bad things for me. I'm not a candidate for rough sex."

The women discuss the types of sponges they use when they menstruate and they don't want the blood to show.

Sam signs off. "I'm sure Tera misses everybody and she'll be back for the next show."

Roy Garcia and Sam Phillips hug. They did a commercial together for Bud Dry six years ago.

Roy discovered Kiki D'Aire in December 1998 and Bunny Luv in December 1999.

Digital Playground has a new production manager. The former one, Beth Raphael, writes: "I'm still writing scripts for Digital Playground and will continue to as long as I am asked to. Samantha and Ali have always been like a second family to me from the first day I met them."

I see Gram Ponante, managing editor of avn.com. He's tall and gangly and from Boston. He has a BA in journalism from Emerson and a MA in journalism from Harvard. Many journalists at AVN have a Harvard pedigree.

Heidi-Pike Johnson has taken over the job of Suzy Erhlich aka Suzie Mid-America, who's moved over to JM Productions to be the VP of Degradation.

Gram wrote for such TV shows as The Simpsons. His parents are lawyers and First Amendment believers and know about Gramm's new employer.

Bunny Luv had a car accident in early December and still has sore ribs.

Jamie writes: I must insist that if you are going to continue to cover the Tera Patrick situation then we the readers are entitled to some cold hard facts. Did Tera OR Digital violate the terms of their contracts or not? It's quite simple: if Digital did not, then Tera is not justified to. No matter what that bonehead Evan says, if Tera has a contract she should fulfill it. It's not a matter of us not knowing what's really gone down between them, because it doesn't matter. Unless Digital has broken the terms of their contract, then Tera has a moral obligation to fulfill the terms of hers, even if they really are treating her badly in other ways. It's that simple and if she really has disappeared for good, then she should be ashamed of herself.
