Charlie Geerts Threatens Scoop With Suit

Hans Knoop, media consultant to powerful European porner Charlie Geerts, writes Luke:

In your internet-column of June 1 you mentioned that you searched through Netscape search engine for "Charles Geerts ", but that all the links were in Dutch. " Can anyone help translate and give Luke the scoop on Geerts? " you asked. As a matter of fact I can. I know Charles Geerts from my childhood for over fourty years. I became an international journalist and war correspondent for national radio and t.v. and Charles went into the porn business. In the late seventies I left active journalism and became an independent media- consultant. In 1988 my old schoolmate Charles became one of my clients. Charles at that time owned Scala but sold the company in 1994 to Scala- Consipio. As from that moment Charles Geerts was no longer involved in the company, nor in the management. After Geerts retired in 1994 his main activity is real estate. So everything you mentioned about Geerts related to Scala is nothing but slander.

This does not imply that what you reported about Scala is correct. I just want to make clear that I now act as the spokesman of Charles Geerts and not of Scala. When the new owner took over Scala in 1994 I also ended my relationship with the company. I want you to know that Charles Geerts has NEVER been engaged in or suspected of money laundering or drug trafficking. He has NEVER been arrested in connection with crimes you referred to, neither in Hong Kong nor in Holland. Geerts however has been arrested and suspected of evasion of Dutch income tax. He spend two weeks in custody for interrogation and was then released. After more than three years of investigation the matter was settled out of court. Geerts did receive a statement from the Amsterdam district attorney that he has NEVER been suspected of any crime and has not been convicted. So here is the scoop you were asking for! It is obvious that my client will not ignore your slanderous accusations. So I urge you to let me know before June 8 if and how you are going to rectify your story. In case you don't, or do not respond at all, I will fly to the US and will call a press conference. Furthermore I will, on behalf of my client, hire the best attorney in the US and keep you legally responsible for any damage sustained to my client as a result of your slanderous story.

Porner: "Luke, you hit another nerve again. Must be something to your story. You must be the most legally threatened person alive. Might as well post a permanent header on your site: "Legally Bulletproof, Zero Assets". That might cut down on the attorneys sending you this type of correspondence. It's good to see you are back on your game, as negative as always, digging for dirt in every level of pornography. Keep it up, Ross can't touch you."

Luke: "Au contraire. Without my attorney pen pals, I'd be desperate for attention."

Annie vs Giffy

Annie the Anonymous Porn Star who gave Luke scoop says she's been receiving threatening emails and phone calls since her revelations. She sent me "threatening mail from Thomas Paine's people, his PA, Cheri Morey, and Marc Teitler, cameraman who also directs. Please follow up, mentioning these threats! I have also received anonymous threatening phone calls, and I would like this all to be public, in case anyone actually acts on these threats, which I believe are sincere!"

Marc Giffy responds: Marc "Giffy" here, responding to your comments from Anne, about Thomas Paine and crew...

Al Borda Video & Pleasure Productions hired her for a B-G-G shoot a few months back, which she performed satisfactory. She called persistently after that, looking for more work. I tried to book her for Peter North's North Pole Series, but she did not meet their requirements. I referred her to Thomas Paine, who had already heard of her, and since he does his own hiring, I was never involved in the decision process.

After some time, I received some very mean-spirited e-mail, which I replied to as nicely as I could. I explained that I only help cast for a few companies, and I do not have final say. I shoot and edit for a number of companies, and I recommend talent when I can. I shoot about 20-30 scenes per month, sometimes more, and I try to help talent find work when I can. In this case, She became very irritable when none of the companies that I work for wanted to hire her, of which I have no control.

I remember one time, on our set, she and her BF became quite upset with our makeup person, Terri, and demanded that she (Terri) be removed from our set. I tried to be a peacemaker, and maybe I didn't satisfy her demands that Terri be removed. As far as threatening letters, I have sent only replies to her. I have not seen or taled to her since my last email reply. She appears to be looking for sympathy, however she really might be looking for some notoriety. The last reply is quoted below:

Sincerely, Marc "Giffy"

PS. She does do a wonderful BJ :)

Repulsive Men in Porn

JCJOE writes on RAME: "Just viewed my LAST Alex Sanders video. I was unable to watch the girl performing and the sex itself, because his dingy, nit-filled hair and pimply nose kept blocking out my screen. I finally resorted to the technique I employ in girl-girl scenes (the old ff button)......It started me thinking, if any other men out there, actually use this method to get past the sex to get past the male doing the sexing. Max Hardcore is another candidate, but I know ahead of time and avoid his omnipresent hat and harelip, by not selecting his speculum spectacles."

Tiffany Mynx Cares

Ramsey writes on RAME: I read some comments on Luke F-rd's site (1 june 1999) concerning Luis Cypher (Jessica Darlin's husband) and his threats against Torris. Cypher i think is perfect for Extreme Assiocates, he got a big mouth, just like his boss and little talent, also just like his boss. But the big reason why i'm writing this is because Cypher claims how Tiffany Mynx (and other porn-girls) don't care about their fans, i quote "Tiffany and most girls alike in the business don't give a flying f--- about their fans" I wanted all you RAME-ers to know that Tiffany DOES care about her fans, this is a fact because after i posted some stuff on RAME about her she sent me an e-mail and thanked me for the support and she also sent me two great photos of here (to Holland) and signed too, for FREE!

So if Tiffany doesn't care about here fans, as Cypher claims, why would she sent me two photos of here for free? i mean she had to pay the stamp! Cypher wrote all that crap to turn the fans of Tiffany against her and turn them to Jessica Darlin, i mean i like Jessica Darlin, she is not bad but no way is she the in the same league as Tiffany "The Goddess" Mynx but then again who is? I wish these losers at Extreme Assiocates would stop spreading lies about Tiffany Mynx and start making some good movies, besides, who the f*ck is Luis Cypher?

Coxx Comeback

Sindee Coxx told www.geneross.com that the abusive phone calls from her cell phone to Jasmin St. Claire did not come from Sindee. Coxx says he phone was stolen. She's had a lawyer phoning around Friday afternoon to try to defuse the situation. Coxx does herself no favors with the hysterical way she handles these matters.

Sillyperson Writes on RAME:

I am curious about the overall marketing effectiveness of adult movie studios having "Contract Stars". Ever since Steve Hirsch introduced the concept to the industry with Ginger Lynn in 1985, the concept of an exclusive contract star has been imitated by virtually every studio in the industry. I believe that the original purpose of the contract girls was to create a unique identity for the studio in the minds of the public. However, with the exception of Vivid and to a lesser extent Wicked, most studios attempts at differentiating themselves with girls does not appear to be that successful.

It seems to me that the only successful way for a studio to differentiate itself is through content, especially in the case of adult, by the explicitness of the sexual content, in much the same way as the adult magazines do. After all, the only mainstream studio to differentiate itself from the pack was Walt Disney, which did so by focusing on one particular type of content. Does anyone have any knowledge of studios moving away from the contract girl marketing concept? Is there any other motive beside studio differentiation which contract girls help achieve? I know that in store signing and other promotional events are a major part of the contract girls function, but that could conceivably be achieve by freelance talent who have appeared in a studios newest movie, since many of the girls at the CES booths were not under exclusive contract. I argue may position that contract girls have limited effectiveness in greater detail on my web page at http://www.sillyperson.com...

Kevin Korey, manager of Nakita Kash, replies: "You have to understand, at this point, there are so many new girls coming and going in and out of the business.... it's one of the only ways left to keep a girl around for awhile! Don't you guys ever wonder why the sex scenes in the past year, year and a half are not as good as scenes in the past? They are all new girls! No experience on video........gotta keep them open for lights and camera.....and when you tell them they get timid....girls who have been in the biz a couple years KNOW what they are doing and are aware of what is going on in the scene so the make the changes without relying on a director to tell them to do so."

Dcoldman writes: "Most contract girls are reasons for me to AVOID movies from a particular studio. Before I got sick of Kobe Tai and her doing just a few select guys, months apart, in movies released a year or so after they were made, she was just about the only contract girl I would pick up a movie for. Often, I've noticed that wen a woman becomes a contract girl, he output goes way down, and so does her desire, seemingly. Suddenly, there's lots of condoms, or she's only doing 3 out of the very small pool of guys in the industry you actually recognize, and it's these same guys over and over again, like they were boyfriends or something, which is fine for her, but part of the illusion of porn is that I substitute myself in for the guy; he's a stand-in for me. If it's only a very few guys, then maybe the girl wouldn't, even in some fantasy world, have sex with me, so why am I watching her? Also, it seems some of the prettiest women get to be contract girls, but, if there's one nasty realization I've come to because of porn, it's that a lot of women who are good-looking and nothing else simply can't f---."

DACXXX writes: "Besides helping to establish an image for a company, the contract girl road has allowed some companies the opportunity to build a dependable, on-call pool of talent. There's no no-shows by girls who got a better offer from another company at the last minute, the girl's price is set for the duration of the contract, and there's no worry about her working so much for other companies that her name becomes eventually worthless."

Jim Gunn says: "There are a lot of copy cats in the porn biz. This contract girl thing has become ridiculous. Even half of the small time video companies that hardly anyone has ever heard of have "contract" girls, although I bet they'd be hard pressed to find the actual document if they had to. Big deal- its all hype. They are trying to imitate the more established porn co's, that's all. I say the marketing effectiveness of the whole thing has gone way down as more undeserving, ugly skanks breeze their way into "contract" status for one smaller company or another who invariably don't keep all their promises anyway.

"I mean, if you think about it, every model release is a "contract" therefore everyone is a contract girl. It's especially ridiculous when these girls get signed up to be an exclusive contract star after they have already had their ass reamed out 15 times in other movies before they get signed by someone or other. For my part, I pass on the big "contract" promises and I try to deliver new faces in almost every show from the different talent pools that I feed from. That's more interesting to me than all the overhyped "contracts" out there."

Vic Writes on RAME:

...[T]he people who actually manufacture adult product try and capitalize on it by selling value-added services online (such as pay areas with pictures, clips, etc...). Iit's a great idea. But what boggles my mind is why more of these sites do NOT make their online catalogs freely / easily accessible to potential buyers. The bottom line is that a manufacturer (Vs. say a strictly online company that only sells or resells access to online services, i.e., no physical product to sell) makes money by selling movies, not subscriptions. And, even though we hear about the "explosion" of new on the Internet, the reality is that most Internet users / PC owners still come from the wealthier demographic (and/or have more expendable income). It doesn't make sense that a lot of these sites offer product information only after a fee is paid. The hook itself for this class of company is the actual movie!

"While I am willing to pay to join a site that has material that supplements a movie or product line (i.e. clips, photos, interviews, etc... that doesn't appear in the title itself), providing free access to the consumer actually making a purchase decision (even if not an online one) makes good business sense because a) Most online mail order companies are not going to give a company's titles the kind of "top billing" in their web sites that a manufacturer can give it b) it's not that expensive and c) a company that does well gets first shot at a consumer's earmarked "porn" dollar. The only thing I can figure is that a lot of these companies have fallen victim to the hype of the Internet without asking themselves how the Internet will help them sell their existing product."

Rob Spallone - Luke's New Shrink

Email: "First off your new site does look more "professional" but the reason we go there is for the content and crude graphics hasn't hurt Matt Drudge. I usually read your site at my work T1 but I tried the new site on my home V90 (about 48K) with graphics on and the initial load is painfully slow. You have cable modem but when you are at someone computor with a telephone dial-in try accessing you site. 33.6K should be the standard you assess it by. The majority of users don't have high-speed access. As far as shrinks go, my life, somewhat like yours is weird beyond Jerry Springer. Most of the shrinks have no idea how to cope with the "exotic". Those of us striving to get rich/famous via the internet are in the "exotic" catagory. They try to "normalize" us and it's counterprductive to our creativity. A better alternative is to lean on people who know the enviorment such as Rob Spallone. Judging from your portayal of him on your website this is a guy I would trust. I'd say instead of shrinks encourage him to "chew you out" when you need it and maintain anon so he can be confident that if he prefixes chewing you out with "don't print this" you will comply. Anyway, I would advise "dump the shrink". If Rob Spallone is your new defacto shrink (pro-bono), maintain confidence."

Greg Zeboray vs. AVN, AIM

Greg Zeboray writes to AVN about its June, 1999 article on his breakup with the FSC and AIM:

I feel it is necessary to correct a couple of the most blatant mistakes: A) You address "AIM's recent offering of the same group medical plan (Blue Cross Maxicare)…." First, Blue Cross is not in any way involved in a group medical plan offered to talent, the FSC membership, or AIM customers. Blue Cross and Maxicare are not related to one another. The Blue Cross coverage available through AIM is the same available through me: individual plans that require full underwriting and approval by Blue Cross. The Maxicare plan is a true group policy (no underwriting and guaranteed approval), and remains the only group medical plan available to members of the adult industry.

B) where you wrote, "We (the FSC) haven't had the kind of enrollment that Blue Cross would like…." is incorrect. Blue Cross is happy with any individual product that meets its underwriting guidelines. In fact, it is Maxicare that is not happy.

C) Further, you went on "…Zeboray, who along with then-FSC Executive Director Jeffrey Douglas, secured the plan…" - wrong again. I wish I had that sort of support, but I didn't. Zeboray (and Zeboray only) secured the plan and then presented it to the board of directors for approval.

D) I would like to conclude with the reason why I chose to not maintain a presence at AIM: I felt that the "healthy" talent would choose AIM's offer, leaving those who did not qualify (for Blue Cross) for Maxicare, and it is important that Maxicare enroll healthy members to offset the medical expenses of those less fortunate.
