Tightens Around The Neck of Gene Ross
Porn's trade magazine Adult Video News is in a panic this morning as evidence mounts that the magazine's senior editorial figure of the past decade is corrupt.
Gene Ross is running scared that his secretive deceitful dealings are steadily being exposed. And AVN publisher Paul Fishbein faces the awful truth that he will have to fire Gene.
Fishbein has said that Ross was warned back in Philadelphia (around 1987-89) that he could no longer create porn movies and write and sell porno scripts while working for AVN. He would have to choose. Ross stayed on at AVN, but has continued selling scripts, including to Jim Holliday at Plush Entertainment in 1994. Just ask Jim, or Jack Gallagher (now at Babenet) or Jack's son Mark why Plush would purchase such crummy scripts by Ross. Because they hoped that it would win their products better AVN ratings if they bought Gene's schtick.
Fishbein should realize that the major source of detailed stories about how various AVN awards over the year were changed at the last minute for political and financial reasons is Gene Ross. Ross has told various people in the industry how Paul would frequently buckle into advertisers' pressure. Through his comments to my sources, Gene Ross was a major source of my December exposes of AVN. Sources tell me that Gene Ross has taken credit for Rob Black's success at the 1998 AVN Awards (over the wishes of Paul Fishbein, Vivid, VCA and other major AVN advertisers) through Gene's pull with other AVN reviewers.

and loyal talent is what makes it work.
I do NOT abuse the fact that talent come to me to request work performing

5. Will have international consumers as an audience as well.

distributors and retailers anyway and not the consumer and therefore

have an impact on current producers now who benefit from winning at
award shows.

The only thing that needs to be broken is the agents...porn stars will
be able to go independent and not worry about people colluding to destroy

Porn distributors and stars should look at the failure of Circuit City and DIVX. DIVX failed because it was based on greed. PPV Porn on the internet will not bring quality. So in the end, the average person who is horny wants the quickest fix possible and VHS or Open DVD is the instant way to get off. Not PC's.
