"If ya lose a great starting running back, its a serious thing. Ya can't just replace them with Joe Blow. If [Marc] Wallice gets AIDS, nobody gives a s---. Ya just replace him with some other Dick. Same fer the girls. All of em could die in a plane crash and be replaced by new girls in less than 2 weeks. Ya think yer special? Yer a fool, if ya think that.

"The dirty movies I've seen are so bad that I bet most of the producers are 50 yr old hippys who wish they were back in the "Summer of Love", so they could spend all day smoking dope, dropping acid, spreading venereal diseases and living off the welfare system."

Alicia Rio Update

A source close to Alicia writes: "I wish someone would convince her to get out of the business before it kills her! She just got out of the Twin Towers Correctional Facility in LA (she was in about 45 days for her 2nd DUI). She is currently living on the streets and in cheap hotels in the Valley/Hollywood area. Her parents have formally evicted her from their place. She told me that she is hooking with anyone just to get some $ (I don't know if this is true and she may be telling me this just so I will take her back). Before doing jail time, she spent 60 days of community service cleaning the Rose Bowl and the streets of Hollywood. In spite of all the BS, she still found time to do Love Connection. She thinks the publicity of being on the show will help her career. Her next major project in May or June is to go to a brothel in Carson City, NV. She told me the Flashman set this up and she will be there with Bunny Bleu. Appearently she was told she can make huge $ for the week. It's strange, I still care for this person and I wish she would go back to dental school and quit the business before something bad happens. She needs to stay away from alcohol (not sure if she is doing anything harder). She claims to be going to AA meeting once a day now. Oh well - another Porn Star tragedy in the making."

Mike South: "Saturday I had the honor of having been invited to one of the biggest social events of the season in Atlanta. I attended with one of my new discoveries, Jillian, she is very classy and well educated and was perfect for the occasion.

"While in attendance I had the opportunity to speak personally to two United States Congress persons and one United States Senator. Also in attendance were many state and local level movers and shakers including many people who are very high up in the entertaiment business. Everyone to whom we spoke was interested in the adult industry, most no longer percieve it as being "evil", at least not personally."

I hear that Jerry Kastler, Jordan Lee's ex, is trying to dump www.jordanlee.com to concentrate on the bigger moneymaking site Porn Stars Uncensored. Much of the www.jordanlee.com income comes from autographed Jordan Lee products which are probably in short supply since Jordan left Jerry.

Email: "Rocco is a sensation in France for the hardest sex scene in his life - a mainstream French movie. In interviews, hee tells interesting things about how he started masturbating all the time at an early age (he told Libération "it killed my childhood") He thinks he inherited his grandpa's talents. His grandfather was a hot-blooded Italien who had 26 children with his two wives and was living off bull sperm. He was raising bulls so that farmers would bring him their cows, but he died at age 46, killed by an infuriated bull. Rocco was born a Taurus."

Tiffany Lords Rebutts John Wayne Bobbitt

Tiffany writes: "I just wanted to clarify something's that John Wayne Bobbit said about me on your site. First i am very offended to be called a coke head. I have never used drugs. I get high naturally by running and power lifting. I have done several triatholons and just ran the Walt Disney marathon in January 1999. I guess John is mad at me because I wouldn't sleep with him off camera like most of the other girls would do. And because I wouldn't kiss John's ass. John thought all the girls should treat him like a star, he often said he was the next John Claude Van Damme. Also, he was jealous of my relationship with his manager Aaron Gordon.

"Next I would like to talk to you about publicity stunts. While I was featuring with Bobbit and Aaron, Aaron and I would think up stories (lies) so that John would stay in the news and you would hear about him every day. Aaron would always be calling up the Associated Press to tell them a fabricated story on Bobbit. The first lie Aaron talked me into saying was that I was pregnant on the Geraldo Reviera Show he said it would confirm that his penis worked. Of course it did not work, John shot injections into his penis on the set to make him get an erection, but that didn't work either. I did what Aaron told me to do because we were in a relationship and I was in love with him.the next publicity stunt was that John was going to give Lorena a surprise visit at her nail salon. But before he went, Aaron once again tipped off the Associated Press, so that there would be media coverage on John. And concerning this priest thing, I'm sure it's another fabrication.

"I knew John for about two years and found him to be short tempered, easily provoked and not very smart. He got abusive with me a couple of times when we were featuring together. One time he didn't like what I had to say about him in a Hard Copy interview on television, I said I do not respect or condone that John beat his wife emotionally and physically, I told Hard Copy that I am simply an actress who is promoting a movie. But that doesn't mean I have to like him. When John saw this interview in a limo we were in, he sprung on top of me and started choking me. Fortunately I was able to fight back and I knocked his tooth out! I'm not proud of that but that's the type of behavior John resorts to if you light his short fuse. Other times he was abusive, was when he tried to force himself on me in a hotel room and I called hotel security. After that i knew it wasn't safe to be alone with him so whenever he could, he would push me, or knock into me and step on my feet, (not by accident). I finally stopped touring with him because Aaron and I broke up. You wouldn't believe all the hate mail and death threats I got for   Aaron and I telling the press that John got me pregnant and I was going to have an abortion, but the truth was that I was never pregnant till a year later from Aaron Gordon... I am not proud of myself for lying but people who knew it was a lie printed it anyway because gossip sells. Even Gerald Rivera himself coached me on how and when to say it on the show. Anyway, it's always a pleasure when I write to you because I finally get to tell the truth and confess my sins. If anyone should be ordained it is you, my lovely Luke!"

Playboy on Jenny McCarthy

Two weeks ago, I stopped by the Playboy office on Wilshire Blvd and interviewed the Helmetcam man and Playboy producer Eric Mittleman.

Gary Gray, Helmetcam man: "Mom and dad didn't know what to name me. They were at a Red Sox game in Boston. They decided that whoever hits the next home run, that's who we will name him after. So Rico Petraselli lines one out of the Park. So they say, so much for that, I guess we'll call him Gary. True story."

Playboy produer Eric Mittleman: "Rico Gray as the Helmetcam man."

"I created him."

Gary: "He put the helmet on my head. I came up with the personality."

Eric: "I was hot off the trail of watching Jenny McCarthy's career, so I figured Gary would be my next one.

"It's a typical Playboy story. Nightcalls is a successful 90-minute show. Some bean counter decided that we could do an extra half hour at virtually no cost. I said, 'that's no longer TV. That's radio. As it is, I think Nightcalls should be an hour long.' They said, great, just fill that half hour and spend no money doing it."

Luke: "Gary."

Gary: "They brought me in for $5 a show. And then I realized what they were paying everyone else, and I got it up to $10. I didn't have an agent. Now the half hour costs them a big bundle of money."

Luke to Gary: "Did you ever f--- Jenny McCarthy?"

Gary: "I was not inclined to go down that road. I couldn't give her her sitcom deals that she needed."

Eric: "Yeah, and you weren't married."

Gary: "One of my early jobs for Eric, when Jenny was a Playmate, was picking Jenny up from the [Playboy] mansion and taking her wherever we were shooting when I was PAing for the company. She was one of the first Playmates I met who had a personality. The average girl back then did not have much to say, before Playboy became so multi-media."

Eric didn't f--- Jenny either. "From the day we hired her, she was dating her manager behind her manager's wife's back."

Luke: "How do you spell his name?"

Eric: "P-I-G. No, Ray Manzella."

Luke: "She wasn't interested in you, even though you created her?"

Gary: "She won't even return his phonecalls, that bitch.

"My best Jenny story. We were at a party and talking. And David Spade came over, who's big on Saturday Night Live, and he's trying to work on her. And she says, 'do you mind leaving us alone, I'm talking to Gary.' And he was shocked. I was just a lowly PA then.

"My first paying job in Hollywood was as a PA for Playboy, but I didn't know it at the time. I was 22 years old, fresh in town from Boston. I worked on a free short movie and the coordinator really liked me and asked if I wanted to work on this thing next week. So, the day before the shoot, she calls me up. 'I know you're supposed to start at 7AM, but I need you to start at 6AM, because you have to pick up the Playmates.'

"I said, 'Why do I have to pick them up first thing in the morning, I'll pick them up tonight and keep them in my house. It seems foolish to get out this early in the morning. Everything's going to be closed.' She said, 'what are you talking about? Not those kind of playmates. Playboy Playmates.'"

Eric: "If you meet any Playmate from the '70s, the first thing she'll tell you is, 'you really missed the great days.'"

Gary: "I go to my first Playboy shot and am completely flustered. All these gorgeous women are walking around naked."

Luke to Eric: "Has success spoiled him?"

Eric: "No, Gary is the only one who keeps thanking me for putting him in the position he is..."

Gary: "It certainly has jaded me. You can't spend years around these women and not view life and sex differently. I had Houston on my show last night. She just did her 620 person gangbang. Just one more eye opening experience. The best email I got today about last night's show simply said, 'well, that was interesting.'"

Eric: "When Jenny's TV series got cancelled, I called her manager and offered her work in craft service. He's not fond of me.

"When Jenny left Playboy for her MTV career, she did it in a bad way, badmouthing where she came from, just like Traci Lords denied she was a porn star. Jenny McCarthy hosted Hot Rocks [on Playboy TV] for three years before she went to MTV. The only reason she got to audition for the MTV gig was because of an interview she did on Hot Rocks with Paulie Shore."

Gary: "The true pinnacle of interviewing is, can you hold your own against Paulie Shore."

Eric: "The only time I've heard Jenny McCarthy mention Hot Rocks was a line in her book. 'The only bone that Playboy ever threw me was that they allowed me to host this cable show Hot Rocks.' She didn't mention all the training we put her through."

Gary: "I mention Eric in every interview I do."

Ron Jeremy, Smally Paulie at Erotica USA

Marc Simms reports from New York.

I see porn actor Ron Jeremy and Howard Stern's Smallest Penis Contest Winner turned Porn Star and Director, Smally Paulie. I quickly called out to Paul without even thinking exactly what I was going to ask.

Marc: I saw you on The Howard Stern Show!

Paul: Right.

Marc: So have you now made a career in the Adult Entertainment Industry?

Paul: Yeah, Yeah. Well after winning the Extreme Trip, I went down there and did a couple of scenes and they made a porno movie called, "Smally Paulie's Excellent Adventure." That came out last month and I did a movie called "New York Taxi Tales number six."

Marc: Eden Rae was in that?

Paul: This is a new one that comes up in May and I just got green lighted to direct my first feature.

Marc: That's great!

Paul: And hopefully this thing with Howard will still be going on. I'm supposed to be doing interviews for him this Saturday. So I'm having a blast man.

Marc: What happened to the other guys who won the contest and went with you to Extreme?

Paul: Gary is the lead in my feature and Phillip went back to his regular life so I'm the only one who really sustained this f---ing madness.

Marc: So you are directing this?

Paul: I wrote and will be directing it and am going to be one of the stars of it and Ron Jeremy is going to be in it too.

Marc: How did you get into directing because I can understand how you got into acting doing scenes out there, but how did you get the chance to direct?

Paul: When I was down in Mexico they gave me the shot to direct a scenes so they said get your talent, location, and your set up and I did it all and it came off really well. So I went back to Pleasure Productions a couple of weeks ago and I pitched them the story line I got for the movie and they loved it. So we start actually this weekend with Ron because Ron is in town.

Marc: So you are shooting in New York?

Paul: Yes. I'm doing everything in New York. I still have a "real job" because this is like here and there man.

Marc: Well I just want to say I'm very happy for you.

And very jealous too.

I turned to Ron Jeremy who was seated signing autographs and admiring the beautiful women that somehow were attracted to him.

Marc: Mr. Jeremy, can I speak with for a couple of minutes?

Ron: Sure:

Marc: How does it feel to be here in New York?

Ron: Having a great time. I'm from New York. I was raised in New York.

Marc: What part?

Ron: Queens. I live in Flushing. I also have a place in Hollywood of course.

Marc: I've seen you in a lot of music videos and in the movie "Orgasmo" Can you tell me how you got into those?

Ron: Hustling, hard work and ambition. I'm in a KISS movie this summer, "Detroit Rock City." I have a lot of films coming out. I do mainstream because I can't do Adult forever. Supposed my penis falls off?

Marc: How long have you been in the business?

Ron: Nine and three quarter inches… Oh… Twenty years.

Marc: Would you say you are one of the oldest male performers around in porn?

Ron: Could be. Could be.

At that point Ron turned his attention away from me to this hot girl with a nice flat stomach and belly ring. Can't say I blame him. Paul interjected and began to tell me more about his film.

Paul: It is about a guy who never gets laid.

Sounds like me.

Paul: He going to be in situations where he just misses it and he's going to be oblivious to it.

Really sounds like me.

Paul: And it is going to be a comedy. The thing I really want to do is make you laugh and enjoy and I really want you to root for Gary to try and get laid and make a series out of it.

Marc: So he won't get it on in this one.

Paul: Not at all.

Bet Garry is not happy!

Marc: Who's distributing that one?

Paul: That is going through Pleasure Productions.

Being that they both were from different sides of the penis size universe I thought it would be dramatically appropriate to take a picture of Paul and Ron together. I then moved on to watch the exotic dancers do their thing before leaving the Adult area and stepping into an area called Rome.

Luke's Family Apologize For Luke

My stepmother Gill www.hormonesonline.com wrote this but it reflects the views of my family.

This week, our son Luke came to visit us [in Sacramento]. He has been somewhat distanced from the family, and this was a better meeting than some in the past. I took the opportunity to talk to him about his life, and we talked for about 3 hours. I think we had better communication than we had experienced in the previous decade. Though I don’t expect Luke to change direction as a result.

Luke is about to get his 5 minutes of fame. He has been longing for this attention and working towards it. He is about to publish his first book. A recent Barnes and Noble catolog gave his book quite a push. He has apparently made quite an impact by criticizing the porn industry. Articles have been written about him and he has been on TV. And there will be more to come. So here’s some input from Luke’s family who have been anticipating and somewhat dreading this notoriety.

Luke comes from a Christian family, and his father is a minister. Luke converted to Judaism some years ago. We are not happy about his involvement in pornography. It bothers us that there is such a merciless streak in him that he hurts people because he thinks they deserve it. Mercy is a valued trait in our family, and Luke is often merciless. In the past, he would tell me off if I gossiped, yet his whole business is based on gossip, and it’s clear he does not wait to check his information before publishing. It seems this is the trait that most annoys people about him--enough to get him frequent death threats.

We feel very sorry for the Jewish community whom we know would not approve of what he is doing either. While being a commentator on the industry, he is also fascinated by it, somewhat involved in it, and supported by it. He receives money from porn sites that are advertised on his site. This is because he receives 50,000 hits per day and they want the traffic. Luke has also acted in a pornographic movie, though he has not participated in sex on film, so he tells me.

I told Luke that I read his website every so often to follow what he was doing. He was horrified that I would do this and said that his therapist and girlfriend hadn’t looked at his website. He thinks his girlfriend would give him up if she did.

There are some mitigating circumstances for those willing to be more merciful than Luke is. I would like to explain to those who are interested some things about Luke’s background. Gene Ross has it quite wrong.

Luke was born in Australia to a mother who was already sick of breast cancer. By the time he was 10 months old, the cancer had metastasized to the bones and, she was given two weeks to live. Gwen lived for another 3 years and those were cruel years. She vomited regularly and weighed only 60 lbs those last years. She died when Luke was 3.

During those 2-3 years, Luke lived in several different homes and had a number of "mothers." Gwen was too sick to look after him, and she was with him only part of the time. Those other "mothers" also had to leave him, and this was very hard on him. Luke was a very smart child and had unusual intuition and he shown signs of disturbance and depression when very young. I married his father seven months after Gwen died with her blessing. She gave Luke to me as an inheritance, and I took that charge very seriously. Luke was four when he came home. I am the only mother Luke remembers, he is the only child I ever had. I love him dearly. And his actions of the past eight to ten years have been very painful to me and the rest of his family.

I think we made a real mistake when Luke was small by telling him that his mother felt when she was carrying him that he was going to do a special work for God. A small child can’t handle such a grand responsibility and maybe it sowed the seeds of grandeur in him and gave him an unrealistic viewpoint of himself. Yet maybe he will bring glory to God in a negative way like Samson. There is nothing any of us can do ultimately against God. He uses everything to his glory, good or bad. Yet every mother would like a Daniel rather than a Samson.

Luke’s biography on this website is very slanted. It reflects the subconcious feelings of an angry hurt child, yet it lacks all the positives. He was and is deeply loved. And in some ways he had a privileged childhood (time devoted, not money).

When Luke was going into college, he worked out all four years of classes ahead of time. He knew what he was going to do (journalism, communications), he knew where he was going to do his postgraduate studies (at Berkley) and his Ph.D. (at the London School of Economics). He was the most self-directed adolescent you could ever meet. Luke was always a bit eccentric, but he was cheerful and well liked (though he always like to bait people and irritate them).

It seems to us that Luke’s life drastically changed after a car accident. He thinks he was about age 19. He was driving his VW to college one morning and was blinded by the sun. Seeing yellow against yellow, he hit the back of a parked school bus, and his seat belt broke. He was taken to hospital and had 30 stitches between his eyebrows. We believe that Luke had some type of brain injury. It was after that, that he started to gradually change. He became compulsive and obsessive, drove himself in every area of his life into the ground, and ended up with mono and chronic fatigue syndrome. He spent about 8 years sick with extreme fatigue. He attended UCLA for a year during his 20s but was only able to complete one class a quarter. It was during that time that he began to listen to Dennis Prager on the radio and began his journey towards Judaism.

There is a lot of tragedy in the world, such as Kosovo, AIDs, and children dying of cancer. But there are also personal tragedies that blight and ruin lives. It was a terrible thing that happened to Luke because he had such drive, motivation, and zest for life. The car accident and the ensuing chronic fatigue that still constantly drags him down in one sense destroyed his life.

Luke has a father who has two earned Ph.Ds (MSU and Manchester University), which he finished in 18 months each; and he has written over 20 books. A very hard act to follow for Luke who had similar gifts and extreme ambition. Luke had the same potential and it all went down the drain or so it seems when he got sick. There are still many days when he can hardly drag himself to the computer, and he is often visibly sick.

In Luke’s 20s, when the CFS was at its height, Luke would have terrific sweats, his eyes would be unnaturally bright, and he had lurid, horrible nightmares where he was pursued by giant snakes which always attacked, overwhelmed, and swallowed him. He was conscious of a struggle with these snakes; he always tried to overcome them, but they always won and swallowed him. It was the fear of death. He thought he was dying. In later years we came to understand that these were possibly prepsychotic dreams. When he was put on antidepressants, particularly Zoloft, he became hypersexual and more bizarre. Later he went on Nardil, which has helped him more than any one thing to get back on his feet. Luke, as far as I can tell, is more normal than he was back then. But there has been a residual effect.

Luke’s intellectual ability did not seem affected except as lack of energy limited his output. The effect seemed an emotional one that came on gradually making him driven, compulsive, extremely self-focussed, with a loss of boundaries, feelings, and sense of appropriateness. And he is extremely narcissistic. You can only hold his attention if you talk about Luke.

We think (and we may be quite wrong) that Luke is like someone with multiple personalities; that there are two distinct Lukes. There is one that is an evil two-year-old child, very angry with his original mother for leaving. That child can be cunning and cruel. That part of Luke is the one that has little respect for women and seems to have no ability to love. That side of Luke has done some bizarre stuff. It reflects a subconscious that is bared to the world and holds nothing back. It has lost its boundaries, its sense of what is appropriate, ethical, and kind.

The other part of Luke is the wise, mature, considerate 70-year-old that he presents on TV, to his therapist, to his parents, to the public, at the synagogue. That side is more like the Luke we used to know.

Multiple personalities as a theory has been receiving bad press lately; but it seems to fit Luke. I am not sure if Luke is really aware of these two sides to his personality. Or if he is really conscious of the ambivalence of his personality and actions.

Yet when I talked to Luke this week, he said he knew he had two sides of his personality and his therapist has recognised this too. I felt that was progress. He can bring that other side out at will now. I saw it years ago, but it surfaced only rarely and fleetingly. Luke believes this is his carnal side (the other, more mature side is his spiritual side). I think Luke’s carnal side is too exposed, too controlling, too close to the surface. But that’s the Christian perspective where effort is expected to fight to keep the evil under.

At the moment Luke likes both these natures, and he thinks they can coexist. I told him that in the classic view of multiple personalities, when they both come out, one lives and the other dies. He’s not ready for that yet. He seems like someone split down the middle and the two parts are going in opposite directions. How can you be for the industry and part of it and supported by it and yet against it and merciless to "the scum in the industry." You are either on one side or another. It doesn’t make sense, and one wonders how long a personality that torn can keep going. It’s like tearing a page in half.

As a family, we have alternated between feeling desperately sorry for him and being very angry with him. For instance, when Luke left home for Florida some years ago, I cried for three days. At other times I feel so mad because I think the porn industry is so demeaning to women, and I don’t think he should be part of it.

But the anger doesn’t last. We don’t like what he’s doing, but we love him. We know that something happened to him. He is not the same person he used to be. And we feel he has shown great courage in just surviving under very difficult circumstances. He says what he’s doing is just a job, that he couldn’t manage anything else. He can work at home and crawl to the computer if necessary. But to quote Luke, involvement in the porn industry is so flattening to the soul. In his biography, Luke says he wasted his teens with sport. Now we thinks he’s wasting his 30s with sex (though Luke thinks it provides income so it’s not a waste).

Everyone who talks about him or writes about him can’t work him out. He’s a mystery man. All see this same ambivalence that we also see.

These are just a few thoughts about this enigma Luke F-rd.
