Wrestler Imlikgod gives his thoughts on CES: "I find it amazing that anyone who makes a movie these days is referred to as a Porn "Star". I saw more women who I had not only never heard of, but looked straight out of the trailer park. No matter how much hype they are given just f---ing on film does not make you a "star". CES showed just exactly how watered down the industry is becoming, when any fly by night company can get a booth and hype their girls as "stars".

"I had the opportunity to meet one of the true stars in the biz, Stephanie Swift. Now she is everything that is good about Porn. Anyone who can survive a Rob Black gang bang and still look good enough to turn on the soft core crowd as well as the "raincoaters" qualifies as a star in my book. Sorry Rob its Stephanie, not Jasmine that is the whole FN show. She is the center piece of every quality piece of work you have done. Saw your shirt being worn by a jobber on the ECW ppv. You must be proud.

"The Nymphomaniacs Ball was a hell of a party, as I got the chance to party with Rodman again. Funny story, in Daytona in 97, I was on his bus with some of the boys with over 20 women waiting their turn in the back with Dennis. In between gulps of cock, these "ladies" all told us how much they hated wrestling. I guess they didn't have a better way to pass the time other than blowing wrestlers.

"It seems as if this year's CES was toned down and was missing some of the raunch that one would expect at Porns big show. Even the EXTREME booth was no more exciting than any other. I was dissapointed by this, as if they want to be the bad boys, they should have used this chance to stir up some heat. I hope the VSDA is a lot more exciting. If the industry leaders do not get over their desire for mainstream acceptance and credibility, they are going to kill off their core audience. After all the reality is, the draw is to see people f---ing.

"PS. You [Luke] lose all credibility the second you take a dime from AVN."

Director James DiGiorgio: "I find it amazing that someone who would take a name like Imlikgod finds anyone else's inflated ego amazing! And of course, no one could ever accuse pro wrestlers of looking like they're straight out of the trailer park; that would be more than a few notches up the food chain for most of them. Imlikgod doesn't seem to realize that the term "porn star" is somewhat generic, and does not really refer to said "star's" achievement of celebrity status. Just as climbing into a ring and being tossed about, no matter how well it is staged and choreographed, does not make one a super athlete (in the truest sense of the word), regardless of inflated hype. It's also my opinion that the existence of the ECW shows how watered down the world of professional wrestling has become. I do, however, agree with Mr. Imlikgod's assessment of Stephanie Swift. Hey! I guess the worlds of porn and pro-wrestling really are similar! Anyone up for a WPSWF? (World Porn Star Wrestling Federation)"

I hear that Lois Ayres is dancing at clubs in Southern California and plans to set up a web site and return to video.

Porn editor S. Andrew Roberts on the AVN Awards (he votes in some categories): "I think the *voting* is completely honest. I think the *nominations* might be politically motivated. Ever wonder why there are 10-15 nominations per category?"

Luke stopped by Pretty Girl International Tuesday afternoon to say hello to Reb Sawitz, who, as usual, is sick.

Reb called rival Regan Senter who played an angry phone call from rival talent manager Damien Michaels.

Damien: "Regan, let me tell you one more time. Listen to me very carefully. If I ever see you, we're going to have a major problem! Do you understand me, you little f---face? Do you hear me? I hope you're understanding all of this very clearly because you're really f---ing an idiot. You're a jerk off. If I see you, there's going to be a major problem. Stay the f--- away from any of my girls."

Regan laughing: "I gave him a taste of his own medicine [tried to use one of his girls] and he couldn't handle it. I called one of his girls who wants nothing to do with him. And the guy calls me up in a frenzy. I tried to play that for South on Monday but he was too busy. He's [Jim South] always crying about Damien Michaels this and that..."

Reb: "Damien's just doing the same thing you are."

Regan: "Everybody seems to be doing it. Randy Lee, Don Fernando, Ron Jeremy... Everybody is trying to make a dollar and get their dick wet."

Reb: "Ron Jeremy does it so he can get laid. Don Fernando, because he needs it [new talent] for his own stuff. Eden Rae tried to do it but it didn't work."

Regan: "I got Eden Rae in the business. I can show you the demo [Regan boffing Eden] if you want."

Reb: "Oh God, are you saving them [demos]?"

Regan: "What am I supposed to do? Throw them in the garbage? Give them to the police department as a donation? Reb, despite what you think, I' ve always liked you. You're one of the most down-to-earth people in the business. I think you've seen so much stuff that you don't agree with, it wears you down.

"I only had sex with Nena Whett once. She was too boom-boom-boom. Hyper... She's breaking up with Johnny Toxic. I counsel people not to date with people in the business."

Reb: "Damien is not going to be around long."

Regan: "Another Eden Rae Entertainment."

Reb: "She didn't last at all. In fact, [Eden's hubby] Jeremy came back to me."

Regan: "I introduced them. I had Eden stay at my house. She did a scene with Ed Powers. And then I said, 'ok honey, it's evening time. Let's have sex.' And she refused. 'Ok, no problem. I will be happy to still find you work. However, you can not stay in my place. This is the price we need to administer to you. However I will place you in the local hotel at your expense, honey.' That's the same hotel that Nadine Casabianca robbed with a gun [the same girl who held up Ed Powers and tried to rob him at home]."

Reb: "I've seen her. She looks great."

Regan: "Her ex-boyfriend will be out of jail soon. That's Tia's [tall busty blonde in late '30s] husband [Tommy Gunn according to Reb]. I guess this is something Luke F-rd didn't tell you. I've been staying away from the Luke F-rd Syndrome because everyone was saying that it was me behind him. Whenever there was xxx in the business, Jim South would say, 'ooh, I think Regan is behind this.' Everytime. It's like, blame the Jews for everything. Blame Regan. Now they have a new one - it's Luke F-rd. They can blame him everything. I respect him as a gossip journalist. He is the supreme Boneyard. The Boneyard in the AVN? He's way beyond it.

"AVN was going to do this big article on sexual harassment. They had this journalist call me. And I said, 'ok, you want to play? Call me Mr. Monica Lewinsky and I'll start. I'll tell you about the other producers who are getting blow jobs from the girls. I'll give you lists. I'll bring you the girls to physically say who they had sex with. And they [AVN] backed off. They didn't do the article. They didn't want to give me the publicity. [AVN plans to run the story in its February issue. Regan was the only porn producer/agent, according to AVN, willing to admit on the record that he sleeps with talent.]

"I had sex with that transsexual in 1993."

Reb: "She wanted to go back to being a boy."

Regan: "What bad PR. So Guy DeSilva and Dick Nasty and all those who f---ed her, that would be a scandal for them. When I stuck my dick into "her" dry vagina, it felt really good... You're a married man."

Reb: "My wife lets me do what I want. I've done 75 videos."

Regan: "I don't try to be a big operator anymore. I just do my job. Find the girls work. I'm not trying to march on the golden city anymore. I'm no longer the new kid on the block trying to play takeover. Damien says, 'oh, I want my girls to get work from everybody.' Well, that's like saying, 'I'm a Jew but it's ok to believe in Christ.' It doesn't work that way.

"I can't handle too many girls. They make my brain go demented. I don't want to be like World-Mart."

Reb: "Jim has too much talent and he's not handling it. It's not working. He still loses people."

Regan: "He tries to make money on anything. If a 300-pound black girl..."

Reb: "I don't understand how they let you work out of your apartment."

Regan: "The work is on the set, not out of the apartment."

Reb: "Do you have any idea what they [the police] did to me? Over ten years ago... They sent in this blonde girl. I had her fill out her paperwork and then told her to go in the other room for a Polaroid. Then she said, 'you're under the arrest.' I had a receipt for the license in my hand but I did not have the license because it had not been issued yet. It sucked. I got two months probation."

Elegant Angel's David Luger writes: "I'd like to inform other producers - directors of the following situation: I booked new performer Kelly O'Rion do a scene on Saturday January 16 for my movie Rookie Cookies 2 (Elegant Angel). The previous Monday she called to confirm the booking. The next day I provided her with location and call time information. On the 16th she no-showed. I waited several hours for her, paged her numerous times, and left messages on her voice mail. As of January 19th I have not heard back from her."

AVN publisher Paul Fishbein thought this year's awards show was so long (ended about 1AM) that he wanted to leave early. He plans major changes for the future and promises that "no show will ever be boring, or long again."

AVN's plans to announce the upgrade of its web site have been delayed to February 1st.

Chuck Martino's shoot Tuesday night at Rob Spallone's new studio in Encino Hills was busted by the police. They stopped by initially because of an excess of cars parked on the street. They stayed because they could see through a front window Sylvia Saint blowing Alec Metro (due to a chair in the window opening up the blinds). Saint and Metro were taken to the police station in West Valley. Saint was released immediately. Metro had to pay off a warrant and then was released. No charges were filed.

"I opened up the door," remembers Rob Spallone, "and saw this little guy. 'Who the f--- are you?' Turns out it was an undercover officer. He didn't like that. They took my shooting permit so I have to go get another one today. No problem."

JB writes: "On every filming permit issued to the adult industry for location shooting by the County and City of Los Angeles Entertainment Industry Development Corp. are the following instructions, on the front page, in bold, capital letters:

NUDITY AND/ OR SEXUAL ACTIVITY MAY NOT BE VISIBLE OR AUDIBLE BY THE PUBLIC.
And:
PRIVATE RESIDENCE - BUS CAST AND CREW; NO CAST/ CREW PARKING ON AREA STREETS - OFF
STREET PARKING MUST BE PROVIDED.

"The instructions that call for a parking lot to be utilized and a shuttle bus used to bring cast and crew to the location (a regular practice on mainstream productions) are usually, due to budget limitations, circumvented by spreading the cars out throughout the neighborhood, thereby maintaining a low profile and not drawing attention to the filming location. The instructions pertaining to sexual activity are plain old common sense. Any experienced producer/ production manager knows this. First rule of business - keep the neighbors, police and
fire department happy, and you can operate free of hassles and legal problems."

Joey Markham writes on RAME from Montreal:

Today (Monday Jan.18, 1999) on a one-hour program called Bynon (hosted by a certain Arlene Bynon), one of the topics was about porn going mainstream.

She had XXX newcomer Shay Sights as a guest in studio, who told Bynon about being a feature dancer and wanting to make her way into adult movies. Shay (a brunette with her hair curled and styled) looks to be about mid-20's and is soft-spoken. The camera just kept a focus of her upper body (she wore a dark shirt). She says she watched some Vivid and Wicked videos that were really well done; naming the Jenna Jameson flick "Satyr" and remarking it's 'amazing' plot about people turning into animals, great make-up and costumes, etc.

Shay has only done 4 movies so far, her first being "Canadian Stripper Search 2" for director Jim Gunn. She had a great time and was treated well. When talking about her other performances (titles not given) she said she's worked with Dyanna Lauren and Jenteal. Sights commented about Lauren as if she was her manager or something; having promised Shay a good future in porn. She never mentioned if she was going to sign an exclusive contract with Vivid, however. (But Vivid co-founder Steven Hirsch later joined in on the interview; more on him later.)

As for pay rates, Shay said that a high-end performer in Canada can earn
between $2400 and $3400 a week while in the States, a high-end performer can earn between $5000 and $20/25,000 weekly.

When the issue of Aids was brought up, Shay said she's read articles about certain performers and what not, but doesn't know exactly what's going on with it. In fact, she said that until the whole Aids scare is sorted out, she's only going to work with one guy (whom she's already shot with, but didn't name). Dyanna told her that Vivid is now 100% condoms and Shay said that while it does take away from the enjoyment of the movie, she wouldn't film any bareback scenes anytime soon. When Bynon asked if there was anything she wouldn't do, Shay said she was game to try anything (ok, so.. what about a bareback double anal/internal cumshot? Sorry, couldn't resist).

On the phone, we heard from Joel Stein of Time Magazine, who said that
pornstar appearances in mainstream are mostly limited to guest stints on
Howard Stern or Jerry Springer and when the ladies snag roles in movies,
it's nothing substantial; just bit parts as strippers or hookers, etc. He
also mentioned the E! Channel and that it's slowly starting to become an
acceptable thing, but apart from Traci Lords, nobody else has really hit
the big time (he wasn't downtalking it the way I'm making it sound; but
I'm sure nobody has any objections to it).

We were supposed to hear from pornstar Lexus Locklear over the phone, but instead we heard from Steven Hirsch who told Arlene that in this business they've learned to deal with people who don't always show up where they're supposed to be, etc. When asked about Vivid's beginnings, Hirsch said the company was started about 15 years ago and that they went into it with a different look. They signed Ginger Lynn to a contract and business boomed from there. Bynon asked him what people have come to expect from a Vivid movie and he responded with remarks like "a certain level of quality" where one would find a beautiful girl on the box and a good movie inside. (Insert hysterical laughter here!!)

Shay was asked about the 'acting' side of porn and Sights said that the
Vivid girls do a great job and while she still has a lot to learn, she can
still hold her own. (If all she watches are Vivid movies, I'd say she has
a *hell* of a lot to learn!) Doing more movies while still dancing on the
road is what Shay would love to continue. She says she loves the freedom
the adult entertainment business has provided for her. As for her parents
knowing about what she does, Shay said they didn't know.. followed by turning to the camera and smiling "Hi, Dad!" She told Bynon she used to be pretty crazy, but it's toned down. So her parents finding out about porn wouldn't cause that great a stir.

That's about all. We met a newcomer, heard discussions about porn and
mainstream and the Aids scare and condoms-only policies. Interview ran
a little over 30 minutes (with commercials).

Bushmiller writes on RAME: "Everyone hates Butler because he broke kayfabe in the business with his book and TV appearances. It didn't help that the book was more dish (so-and-so's vagina was curdled, etc...) than real insight into the business. The pictures and captions are hysterical though.

"The most detailed response I've heard from Jeremy regarding Butler and his book was in the zine Panty Line Fever. He goes, in the same sentence, from saying he's never read the book to saying he read it twice and the rant begins. His main complaint was about Butler getting personal with people (ie "curdled"). He said that when Al Goldstein says "Dogs are next" to girls who just worked with Jeremy it's a good-hearted joke but that Butler crossed the line. [Luke: Ron pointed out to me the numerous innacuracies in Jerry's book Raw Talent.]

"A fascinating episode in Butler's life was when he secretively (from his wife [Lisa Loring]) started working in porn again. He was allowed back in but boy did he pay for it. The few scenes I saw he was relegated to idiotic roles and it seemed everyone--producers, partners, etc...-- was out to make the guy pay for his sins.

"Last I heard (quite a while ago), he was driving a bus for mentally handicapped kids but when he did talk shows, he would just say bus driver so he wouldn't potentially get fired."

Luke F-rd played a role in the following story, writing an essay for IEG on Roman Catholic scandals that appeared on the site that was eventually shut down on judge's orders. From the 1/19/98 Washington Post:

The wide-open freedom of the Internet is increasingly clashing with the
staid body of trademark law. The danger, warn freedom of speech advocates, is that trademark law is often used as a sword to dismantle Web sites that espouse unpopular viewpoints.

The most recent controversy is a court case involving a sexually explicit
Web site poking fun at the pope's visit to St. Louis.

U.S. District Judge Stephen N. Limbaugh temporarily suspended the Web site, www.papalvisit1999.com, which contained parodies of "Papal Sex Scandals," offered dirty jokes about the pope and other religious figures and provided links to sexually explicit Web sites. The site also provided some information on the pope's visit to St. Louis.

The Archdiocese of St. Louis is officially promoting the pope's visit as
Papal Visit 1999, and sued claiming trademark infringement. The archdiocese never officially registered the phrase, and several legal experts question whether such a broad and generic phrase as "papal visit" could or should be given trademark status.

Mike Ross writes to AVN:

Dear AVN;

I am writing today for two reasons, with the first being, I wanted to
thank you for delivering my Jan. 1999 edition of AVN just yesterday
(1/19/99).

Second, I am writing to correct or add to your story found on page 318
entitled California Gets Tough On Spam.

For the record, you have shown me exactly what "Censorship" is with
this article? Why? Simple.... on behalf of the Adult Entertainment
Industry Education Fund, we negotiated the settlement on this issue with
both legislative offices, and you took us out of the story (even though
you knew we were involved based on the trade faxes you receive from us
- Isn't that censroship?). In fact, if you look at last year's
legislative agenda, and the committee's official analysis, you will
notice that 4 out of the 5 provisions dealing with "email" that we
called for were adopted in the two bills.

Additionally, should you have done any research/homework at all, you
would have also found that we testified in opposition to the bills when
they were first introduced, and as a result, were granted several
amendments during the hearing, bringing our "opposition" position to a
position of "support".

Additionally, you are claiming that these bills are both "bad" and will
be challenged by Free Speech Advocates.... well, lets put it this way...
not only was FREE SPEECH COALITION MISSING FROM THE DISCUSSION, but if you do, then adult businesses lose "protections" offered by the bill, namely it now becomes a tor for someone to "spam" through your server (trespass - that is to use your equipment without your permission). And how is this possible? Simple... because Mr. Millers Bill now opens/provides ownership of "internet machienary", which leads to the protection of equipment and halts "trespass".

From now on, if you need to know something about what's going on in
California's legislative process dealing with adult, why don't you come
to the source instead of censoring our "work" out of the story?

Finally, I want to close by saying this.... FSC has made a big "deal"
about Mr. Douglas testifying in Congress with respect to "internet porn"
but this "expert" has been missing for the last 5 years in the
California legislature and the FSC didn't take a position on the
bill(s). Why don't you mention that in your stories?
