12:30 PM, 9/10/98. Pretty Girl International. Reb's assistant on the front desk, Trudy, spends her time playing card games on the computer (Solitaire), smoking cigarettes through her mouth, and watching soap operas on TV.

I wander into Reb's office to find him talking with Jerry Garfinkle of Impressive Video. On the desk sits a card advertising the talents of Alexandra Nice, 36C-25-35. Standing 5'7", she weighs 120 pounds. Her card lists her rates, which porners laugh at for being excessive: BJ - $350, Solo $400, G-G $500, B-G $700, B-G (A) $900, B-G DP $1200.

Tasha, Danielle Rogers (born in 1967) and Annabel Chong wander in and out. I finally sit privately with Danielle and we talk for an hour.

Danielle is tall and thin and muscular with C-cup breasts and shoulder length blonde hair.

"I missed my passion [modeling and acting]. I started modeling young [at age 12]. I always read and admired Cosmo and Vogue… I loved theatre and singing. Modeling helped me get to those levels. I started pursuing it seriously in Denver, Colorado, which was not mod and trendy like New York and LA, but conservative. I did lots of bra and underwear stuff, making $300 for two hours every day of the week for the department store Joslins (like Macys).

"Talent scouts stopped by all the time at my agency from New York and LA. They were looking for a girl (for LA Models) to fit this particular swimsuit. It was stunning, metallic gold. I got the job and that brought me to CA, to Guess Jeans and to photographer Barry Rosen. Guess Jeans loved me. They used me for a series (when they had that Bridgitte Bardot look) around 1988.

"Barry Rosen pushed me into the adult realm. I never knew he was connected there. Barry shot that famous poster of the red Ferrari, with the blonde woman getting out of it, her dress blowing in the breeze. A leg shot.

"Barry fooled me. I'm smart businesswise. I'm gullible. I want to believe people with personal stuff. Barry and I used to show our [modeling] books together at all the big conventions in Las Vegas. So if they hired me, he had to shoot me. And they hired him, I had to be the model. We did fabulous. We did Bolet [sunglasses], Varnet [sunglasses], Hansen Boots, Hansen Skiwear…

"Barry said he knew people in that business. I had never even seen a movie [porno]. The closest was 91/2 Weeks. I was straitlaced. I didn't date much. I'd played sports my whole life. I was more of a jock. We had sex but we were more friends. I didn't know how to have sex.

"I'm the youngest of six kids. I went to a Roman Catholic Day School. I took Catechism class on Wednesday nights for two hours.

"I had a beautiful place in Manhattan Beach. The rent was $3200 a month. My landlord was the actor Kevin Dobson from Knots Landing (detective married to brunette). My mom and I used to watch that show every Thursday night. He'd come by for coffee every morning.

"Barry talked me into it. He said that nobody would find out. It'd only take a day to shoot and I'd make $3-$5000. I'm good at taking chances. I met Scotty Coxx (Fox) who took me to warehouse… He looked at me funny.

"Scotty later told Randy, 'I knew when that girl [Danielle Rogers] walked in, that she making the mistake of her life. A beautiful girl like that does not belong in porn. She reminded me of my wife. I did not know what to do about it.'

"Scotty and I talked. He gave me the lead in my first movie. He offered me $3200. The night before I was to shoot, I watched my first movie at 11PM at Barry's tiny apartment. He was a slimy scummy Jewish guy."

Luke: "I'm Jewish. And you're right. There are lots slimy scummy Jewish guys in this business."

Danielle: "I would never have guessed you were Jewish. I thought you were Italian. You look like a soccer player.

"I was supposed to work with this good looking gentleman Randy West (Andy Abrams). Barry was hesitant to show me the tape but I insisted. As I watched, I felt sick. My blood pressure skyrocketed. I started having a nervous breakdown. What the hell am I thinking? I can't do this. I started crying. I called my ex-boyfriend. I wanted to go home [Denver].

"Barry calls Scotty and explained. I got on the phone with Scotty. He told me to calm down. He said, 'just come to the set tomorrow and I'll put you with this guy Randy Spears… This guy will make you feel comfortable. He'll be your friend. He's a good guy.' And for some reason, something told me, 'everything will be fine now.'

"I also remember thinking 'responsibility.' I committed to this project. I couldn't walk away from it. I felt obligated.

"When I showed up the next morning, I sat by the pool. The house was scummy. If I were a producer, I would not have stuck me in a place like that. They know that a girl like me would normally not do this business. If I'd have been the producer, I would've taken the time and the money to get a classy location. This location made me feel nervous. I almost walked out, then walked in the two actors I was supposed to work with. I thought I was only working with one. He didn't tell me there were two, and a girl-girl scene. I had never had sex with a girl before. Pressure.

"I got $3400. I was the highest paid actress ever (not under contract).

"When the actors walked in, I thought, 'that guy is really good looking.' It was Eric Price. He's our really good friend. We just saw him the other day.

"I realize now that the reason I did porno was to reach for really great sex. Deep down inside I am sexual. Back then, I was too embarrassed because my family is really conservative. Guys would never go down on me. I thought something was wrong with me down there, then they had to [go down on Danielle], and I loved that feeling, that nastiness… I got to do all these things…

"I had often wondered what it would be like to be with a woman. I'd call 900 numbers when no one was around [to have phone sex with a woman].

"Then I found out the other guy was Randy Spears. That short guy! I'm tall. I was into tall guys.

"Our scene was uncomfortable. We had to strip right away. I'm laying in bed next to him while they fixed the lights. I looked him over and realized that he had a really good body.

"I told him, 'my [rich] boyfriend back home is really heavy.'

"I dyed my hair that morning with this washout stuff, so it was a grey dirty blonde. I felt I looked nothing like I normally looked. Back then [1988?], the girls were platinum blonde with tons of makeup, the whore-looking outfits. He [Randy] really liked me and I thought he didn't.

"I heard all morning how this guy was the best actor in the business who was winning all kinds of awards. I felt intimidated. Randy told me that he had never had a blowjob like I had given him. I didn't think I knew how to give a blowjob.

"He said, 'you are awesome down there [vagina]. He still says it today. As a girl, I thought there was something wrong with me down there. So, no matter what my family and friends say, I think the adult business is the best thing that ever happened to me.

"Scotty Cox (Fox) had a hard time with me. Scotty always got me my rate, booked me as the lead for every movie he ever did. I miss him. He felt bad [that Danielle did porn]. He could never watch me have sex. We had a brother-sister relationship.

"Arrow was the doggiest company. I only got $3000 a month for two sex scenes. I got no exposure and no marketing.

"Wicked Pictures does it right. They are the best company. I like how they market their girls because that's where I'm at… The media. I don't care how much money I get for a picture if you guarantee me that you are going to advertise this everywhere and do beautiful pictures Estee Lauder style… I would choose Wicked over anybody. If Wicked offered me $3000 to do a picture, and VCA and anybody else offered me $10,000, I would go with Wicked.

"I remember Steve Orenstein [Wicked owner] when he was a kid. My husband Randy Spears shot one of Wicked's first movies.

"I quit the business [1991?], because my family needed some calming down. They thought I had gone haywire. They thought I had a gun to my head. They thought all kinds of things. I said, 'I wish that I could say that was true, but no…' I'm a Christian. They're Catholic.

"I loved Catechism class. I miss my childhood. My family had no bearing on the way I turned out… I'm adventurous and spontaneous, carefree and gullible. I just want to be liked. I stress out when people don't. We talk too much. Many people take me wrong. I love people.

"Randy Spears left the business in 1992, just after I had my daughter (5/18/92). It was difficult for me to be pregnant with him working…

"Everybody casts me as the girl who got all the models in the business. After me came Savannah, Racquel Darrian, all these beautiful girls… I paved the way. That's what they say. I don't know. I got Ashlyn Gere, Lucky Smith and his girlfriend of the time, Alexis Vogel (DeVell).

"I met them on the dance circuit. They were fans of mine. We're all from Colorado. When I first came out here [Spring of 1998], I lived at the house of Lucky and his girlfriend Juli Ashton. Alexis, a busty redhead, now works as a production coordinator.

"I'm very disappointed in Lucky Smith. He's a shark. I got him in the business. They wanted to know how to get into the business. I told them not to…but if you're serious about it, let me help you, because there are some nasty people out there [porn]. They were serious. They put lots of energy into this.

"They came out to one of my movie sets at Scotty's house. My husband Randy Spears introduced them to Jim Holliday. Then, you know how the circuit works… He denies it [that Danielle started him in porn]. It's too beneath him.

"He wanted me to be the first contract girl for Juli Ashton's new company. I considered it… Lucky's making over $700,000 a year now. He's trying to have sex with me while Juli was gone at night.

"I told him, 'Lucky, whatever you do, don't lie to me.' I started crying. 'I've been through a lot this past year. I broke up with my husband. Everywhere I went, I felt like people were taking advantage of me. I felt used from every direction… I can't take one more person.'

"He said, 'that's sweet. I would never do that to you.' Two days later, he [Lucky Smith]…loved hearing that. You've probably met a 100 people like this. He's the type of person who wants to know your insecurities so he can use them against you. He just ran with them. You would not believe what I've been through the last few months. He's going to regret it. He should've signed me.

"I have to make this work now. I have two beautiful kids. I'm 31 years old. I'm not going in there [porn] as a porn star… Don't treat me like one of those girls. Don't flirt with me. Just talk business. I just want to get down to business. I can handle the media and be the sweet…for my fans… Just don't play games with me anymore because I know the signs and I will never talk to you again. I know it. I can't go backwards.

"Ten years ago, I walked into Jim South's office and then walked out. People forget. I'm a model. I've been around the world. Talent agencies are usually top notch. I walked into Jim South's office and said, 'I'm going to get raped. I've got to get out of here.' I ran out of there.

"I fell in love with Randy after our first movie. He was so good in bed. I would get us hotel rooms and pay for them. And sneaking away and meeting him. He played me right. He got me. I never smoked pot much but I loved it with him. We'd look at the water. It was so romantic.

"He asked me to marry him while we were in Holland (late 1989). He was filming in Germany. I met Deidre Holland who was married to Chet aka Jon Dough. My appendix erupted. I was sick in the hospital and Randy wrote me all these love letters. It was the worst and the most beautiful time of my life. They took my appendix out even though they did not need to. I had a kidney stone from the stress. We married 10/6/90. Amanda was born in Laguna in 1992 and Greg in Delaware in 1994.

"I can't believe the stuff I'm hearing about me. I have a lot of baggage out there, I find out as I make the rounds on my comeback. I hear that I am this big drug addict. That I'm irresponsible. My husband and I had a little problem with drugs when we were in the business. We've done our share [of drugs]. I've snorted a few lines but I was not a drug addict. I had too many morals for that. My morals would not allow me to be a drug addict. I just want to nip this. It's not nice. It [gossip] could be really detrimental to lots of girls in this business. It hurts. This business is negative already. If I can give any advice to young women, it is to be strong and to not worry about what other people think. As long as you know who you are. If you don't know who you are, then take a leave of absence until you find out who you are… I had to leave for eight years to find out who I was, to get back to Victoria [Danielle's real name] instead of porno girl trying to look good for a f---ing porno director. Who the hell are they? I don't know. Risking my life every day for measly amounts of money. I'm tired of it. I'm doing this now for me. They're lucky that I think this way, for me doing it for me is only going to make their picture much better, because I care for me, not for them.

"Exposure helps everybody. Lots of actors and actresses don't realize that. Media is who you want to be on time for. Videos, f--- it! Be an hour late. They need us, we don't need them. Media, be an hour early. And don't charge them, because that's what gets your name out there. Look at Jenna [Jameson]. She loved media.

"Jenna and I were nymphettes of the year for Hustler. I was the Hustler Honey of the Year in 1991, the only porn star to get that.

"I worked in sales. I had 100 people working for me at one time [downline] for DSMax.

"I want to make the big screen once. I would be satisfied the rest of my life. For people to buy tickets to see me and leave entertained."

Danielle returned to porn in July, 1998. Randy returned a few months earlier. "I've had some good pieces. It was leaving and experiencing life. I've come back a woman. I feel these roles. I'm not scared anymore to play these bimbo roles.

"They [porners] never allow us [Randy and Danielle] to work together. People just don't want us to be together. Our scenes are incredible. I think they're scared… I think they're scared of his capabilities. They're jealous. There is nobody we'd rather be with than each other. It's frustrating.

"He [Randy Spears] works every day. He's going to win "Actor of the Year."

"I think we're going to do a big mainstream movie in Paris around Christmas time. I have 12 lines.

"The companies that I work for make you use condoms. I think AIDS tests are enough. If you want extra protection, then wear a sponge. Condoms make it rough on the guys. My husband goes through ten condoms a scene. The scenes take half an hour longer…

"We've been here four months living out of motels. We move into our new home next Wednesday.

"I have the ugliest boobs in the business. They've been stretched out breast feeding my kids. They look real. I lose weight so easily. I eat more than Randy but I have a high metabolism, or it is all the meth I'm taking… "

Danielle shows me her breasts. They look good to me.

"Randy trains me. If I didn't have this cut look, I'd appear really skinny. We're starting body building. My weight training builds my breasts up, and gives me more cleavage.

"I'm getting ready to dance on the road. I have investors interested in taking my act to Vegas. It will cost a million dollars. They love my idea.

"My family saw my very first movie. Day one. I had just gone to Europe when they found out. My family called Randy's brother, freaked out. I'm the youngest of six children. I have three brothers. I throw like a guy. My brothers are the ones who taught me how to do coke. But we did it so responsible, though, so I never looked at my brothers that way [as addicts]. We didn't do it all the time, just once in a great while. I remember saying to my brother (in 1992) that I might have a cocaine problem. I'm doing it once a week now and that's not me. And he said to me, 'you'll outgrow it.' I hated him for that, because it got worse and worse. But he was absolutely right. I did outgrow cocaine. You either die or you get your s--- together because it's boring. It's stupid. You either do a bunch and die or you change your life.

"I quit cocaine and switched to pot, which was just as bad… It made me tired and cranky. I quit everything in 1994.

"The best thing we [Randy and Danielle] ever did was move to Philadelphia (1992?) because we did not know where to buy it [drugs] there.

"We were somebody before we got in this business. We had goals. We were experiencing this realm [entertainment], but not so risque. Randy did Star Trek… He was the first Chippendales dancer (1982?). He used to date Samantha Strong."

Danielle enjoyed anal for the first time in her life early this year and now does it on film. "I love it. I tried it years ago and thought I was going to die. I was in shock." She will not take facials. "It's degrading. I've never done movies that were degrading to women, nothing that I would be embarrassed about if my kids found out. I did New Wave Hookers 2 however, though that was a real movie shot on film. Director Gregory Dark is a genius."

I talk to Russ Hampshire at 2PM. He says that contrary to Rob Spallone's comments this week, the FSC did not kick out Sharon Mitchell. They simply parted company. Russ says the pop singer Stacy Q who wants to turn porn star took $4,000 from him then missed all scheduled meetings.

Danielle Rogers smokes incessantly. She says she's gone from Newports to Virginia Ultraslims, and is about ready to quit.

Lauren Montgomery breezes in. Her website www.laurenmontgomery.com is almost ready. Lauren stars in Skin 15 for Astral Ocean. "I played this wild dominatrix to Jill Kelly. They put this intense make-up on me, red eye shadow with sparkles… They drew a tattoo of the grim reaper on my stomach. I roamed through a castle terrorizing everybody.

"I do good clean bachelor parties for Class Act and Allure of www.allure.com, which caters to the high end.

"My family knows about my work. My aunt was at a friend's house recently and saw me. She called my sister… I'm in a shoot for Easy Rider magazine next Wednesday for the 30th anniversary of the Easy Rider movie."

Voyager7 says: "Daniele looks nothing like she did a few years ago, though, she really never did much for me anyway. She looked to skinny and muscular for me, and her bolt-ons don't fit. What struck me was Randy Spears' appearance. He looked skinny, scrawny and sickly like he had leukemia or some body draining affliction."

8 MM

Genre: Thriller.

Studio: Sony Pictures.

Production Company: Columbia Pictures.

Project Phase: In the Can.

Who's In It: Nicolas Cage (Mike Welles); Joaquin Phoenix; Catherine Keener; Peter Stormare; James Gandolfini; Chris Bauer; Anthony Heald; Myra Carter; Jacklyn Lick.

Who's Making It: Joel Shumacher (Director); Andrew Kevin Walker, Nicholas Kazan (Screenwriters); Judy Hofflund, Gavin Polone (Producers); Jeff Levine (Associate Producer); Robert Elswit (Director of Photography); Gary Wissner (Production Designer).

Premise: Private detective Tom Welles does the sort of work his clients wish he would fail in: finding out if there was someone with your spouse on last weekend's business trip. But when the widow of a wealthy businessman hires the detective, his life is forever changed. For she wants to know the truth behind a reel of eight millimeter film she discovered in her late husband's safe...and whether the images on that film are real. To do that, Welles must descend into the dark world of underground pornography, where the goods the clients buy and sell cannot be placed on the shelves in adult bookstores. And when he inquires about the tape...the ones who made it will come after him.

Release Date: Q1 1999.

Comments: Walker's last produced script was David Fincher's disturbing Seven...and this script goes even further that that. It paints a shocking picture of the world of illegal pornography, where images of any sort of sexual act can be bought for the right price. And as the lead character progresses through the story, he will be forced to re-examine everything he holds of value to him. Just as Detective David Mills (the character Brad Pitt portrayed in Seven) was morally annihilated at the conclusion of Seven, so too will be P.I. Tom Welles. He must undertake a journey into a world of absolute horror and revulsion, where unspeakable acts happen to everyday individuals - and to learn the truth, he cannot look away. The world will never look the same again through his eyes.

Rumors: Unknown.

"8 MM" - A Review by 'Light House Shines'

Okay now I heard about this film a few months ago and thought that it would be somewhat interesting to see, though I originally thought that Val Kilmer was staring in it instead of Nicholas Cage for some reason. Which is ludicrous as Mr. Kilmer absolutely hates director Joel Schumacher ( He was present at the screening by the way) with a passion. And for very good reasons, as Mr. Schumacher single handedly ruined the whole Batman franchise by making it the gayest thing on Earth ( Not that there is anything wrong with being gay, as I have seen a lot of great films that had strong gay themes). Thankfully his latest film, 8mm isn't nearly as bad as his two dreadful turns at helming the caped crusader's adventures on the silver screen. Although truth be told it really isn't all that much better.

For 8mm is the highly disturbing story of private investigator Tom Wells, played aptly if not typically by Nicholas Cage. A family man hired by an extremely well to do elderly woman, who has just discovered something rather shocking in her recently deceased husbands personal affects. An old 8mm film reel, depicting the apparent rape and murder of a young girl by a machete wielding leather clad and masked man ( Who is only referred to as The Machine throughout the film). Which the old woman wants Mr. Wells to authenticate as either a fake or the genuine article, as she cannot believe that her husband would ever possess something so horrific. Let alone watch it, which is how and why Nicholas cage's character becomes imbedding in the seedy and disgusting world of underground pornography and snuff films. As he attempts to uncover the whereabouts of the seemingly murdered child, and her supposed killers. So he can put not only the old woman's mind to rest, but the young girl's mother as well as his own ( he meets and gets to know her while he is looking for the girl supposedly killed in the film, some of the films nicer scenes).

Which Mr. Wells eventually does with the help of Max California, very well played by Joaquin Phoenix. Who I guess is the next best thing to River, though I still greatly miss his brother's acting. As Joaquin plays a porn shop cashier who is much smarter and worldly than his outward appearance would indicate, as he quickly catches on to what Cage's character is doing and offers to help him navigate through the underbelly of the mainstream porn industry. The only side that the majority of citizens are exposed to let alone even aware of for the most part, as that is only the surface. As Cage's character all too quickly learns as he encounters more and more warped and twisted individuals in his pornographic quest to find the young girls killers.

Now while there were a great deal of ( incredibly) shocking or visually disturbing scenes or plot points in this film, that is pretty much all it has going for it. For it was painfully obvious that the film was trying it's best to show us that porn or the business of porn in general was destroying the moral fiber of society or the individual who in turn makes up society. Which is a message that I think we all already know for ourselves without having it rammed down our throats or have it illustrated for us in such gory detail. Which is pretty much what this film was doing the entire 120 plus minutes it was, for besides the shocking visuals. Pretty much all the dramatic points or lines where almost completely lost on the audience, as everything else just seemed to pale by comparison. Which could be a combination of ( really) bad story telling or bad editing, as there some really fine actors in this film. Most notably the afore mentioned Joaquin Phoenix, who did a great job considering how small his part was ( he had good chemistry with Cage and they shared a nice on screen relationship). As did the dead girl's mother and the old woman who hired Cage's character in the first place, though sadly none of these people were the film's real or true focus. As much as the whole porn/snuff industry appeared to be, which was part of the films problem...or should I saw just one of the film's many problems regadless the film was not a total loss and I cannot say that I wouldn't not recommend it, as I am glad that I saw it. For as disturbing as it was in certain parts. It is a social commentary on the world we live in, either directly or indirectly. So the film will always have merit in that sense at least.

Dithering writes on RAME about those he'd live to give a facial:

1. Uma Pummeraji (sp?)--Reporter for NBC affiliate in Boston. WBZ, I believe. The absolute best of Northern India. Anyone who thinks Lydia Chanel (Lydia isn't Indian) and Nadia Nyce are attractive must see this woman. Uma has more delicate features than Lydia or Nadia, and her brown skin is almost incandescent (i.e. she glows). Talk about must-see TV. Too bad the diamond on her left ring-finger almost blocks out the sun. Some rich f--- used his wealth to take this prize off the market. Asshole.

2. Darrin Kagin (sp?)--Reporter for CNN. She has those shapely, athletic, dense, feminine legs that need to be wrapped around someone, somewhere, somehow, someday. Every day. And yes, I am available for a small fee.

3. Amanda Coetzer (sp?)--South African tennis professional. Her overexposure to the sun is beginning to take its toll on her face. She desperately needs a protein and zinc "treatment" to serve as an anti-aging agent. I volunteer. Forget thse chemical peels Amanda. I can help.

4. Chris Darden--Law professor and previous winner of my annual Stupidist-Bitch-Of-The-Year-Award. I wonder if a facial will fit as nicely as those gloves did.

5. Laura Ingraham--Political commentator and former assistant to Clarence Thomas. Something about Dartmouth College creates these overzealous conservatives. Maybe it's those unbearable Hanover winters or the damn isolation. No matter. Maybe a kind, gentle, mouthful of spooge would help Laura relax. For reasons I don't understand, I find Laura's "horsey" features attractive, although Father Time is beginning to introduce himself to her.

6. Mitzi Kapture--Original actress for USA network's "Silk Stalkings" series. I am speaking of the original Mitzi, not the blimped-up version of the final episodes. Women with legs like hers make life worth living.

7. Shannon Miller--Gymnast. Although her legs will become too bulky as she ages and gains weight, I can and will forgive this venial sin. (Any Catholics out there?)

8. Anne Heche--Actress. Something about her washed-out features gets to me. I sometimes wonder if Anne Heche can unfurl her rectum like Mila. Am I losing my mind?

Generally speaking, however, Dith prefers girls who swallow:

I am a fetishist along the same lines you are about this swallowing business. There is another poster to this newsgroup, named Çonnie Soor, who has like-minded interests. Are we the only three who want swallow shots? I doubt it.

For some reason, the late-1990's porn industry has decided consumers want extreme, gross-me-out, how-far-can-we-push-it, unduly-anal activity. Thus, the proliferation of ass-to-mouth, queefing anally-deposited semen into another woman's mouth, gaping assholes, speculums, and Mila unfurling her rectum scenes. I could go on, but you get the point. Did they ever conduct a market survey to see if that stuff is what people want? Yeek.

Swallowing is what happens in real life. Why is it so hard for porn films to show it? And spare me the HIV misinformation, please.

Rocking-Rodney Moore once responded to one of my posts' in this forum on this same topic. He said the swallow "issue" was girl-dependent. And he is, of course, in a better position to comment on these on-set decisions than I am.

But I am still confused. If one can persuade an already-attractive young lady to mangle her body with soccer-ball implants, disfiguring tatoos and piercings; and THEN perform high-risk anal sex and unsanitary, high-hepatitis-risk ass-to-mouth and "rimming" on-screen scenes; what exactly is the problem with swallowing? (Forgive the run-on sentence.)

Mad-Max Hardcore, Iron-Mike South, Rocking-Rodney Moore, Big-Jim Gunn, Big-Game-James Digiorgio, Dirty-Dave Cummings, Easy-Ed Powers, Garden-of-Eden Rae; are you reading? There are customers out here, in the hinterlands, aroused by swallow shots. Just like what happens in real life. Can you help us depraved souls?
