Luke Gets Mail

Gene Ross writes on his site: "I haven't as yet tossed any sexual advances but when I see a big, inviting ass bent over a couch, it's not that extremely lewd thoughts haven't occurred to me. Call it 14 years of sexual repression spent at AVN which must be akin to a congressional aide working for Gary Condit. Consequently you will be seeing a breakout series or two spinning off from these Cunt Hunt shoots. A good woodie is a terrible thing to waste. Whether it's mine or not will be a matter of consequence."

RPM writes: Please post the following as an appeal to any pornster who might ever again talk to a journalist: Okay, we get it. No actress in any porn film ever has to do scenes with anybody she doesn't want to work with. Now can you all quit turning that simple fact into a big bold pronouncement in every interview?

XXX writes: I did research on him and it seems Putative Marc is a well-respected rock journalist. His writing is fun. Just read this interview of Sharon Mitchell you linked to. This is very interesting, isn't? 7% have HIV! That seems really high. I don't know what to think of her. She seems like an outstanding and caring person but I'm afraid she can also fool people. Chloe couldn't stop praising her.

Chaim writes: Luke, I heard our own Putative Jew Marc today on the radio, and guess what? His voice is a DEAD RINGER for that of James Cramer of The Street and CNBC. In fact, had he claimed to BE Jim Cramer, I don't think 99% of the listeners would even suspect otherwise from the sound of his voice (content is another matter). Think of all the nifty practical jokes Marc could be playing! And he could be making us some serious money, too! So how about it Marc, are you willing to make some big bucks here?

Jim Dorney writes: Luke, Not sure if many people right in and have nice things to say about any of the actresses, but my wife and I went to Gossip's in Melville the other night to watch Shayla LaVeaux perform. We ended up taking lots of pics, both my wife and me and chatted for most of the evening in between her sets. I would like to say and let everyone know who is thinking of going to see her show that they absolutely must. She is very very personable, not phony, and happens to put on a great show, which she included my wife in two of her sets. We were both impressed with how down to earth she is and the fact that we were able to have intelligent conversation other than her movies. I do not know if you have had the occassion to meet or talk with her, but I would defintiely recommend it! We had a fantastic time with someone that actually seems to be interested in her fans for something other than their money. When she is back in the areea we will certainly go to see her again and would not be surprised if she actually recognized us. If you do have access to her, please let her know that Jim and Vicki had a great time, wish her well and look forward to seeing her again.

Leo B. Hunt

Johnny Scorpio writes: Wouldn't you like to find out who this is? I quote from true crime book, "Shadows of Evil": "Tina's bail was posted in the form of a ten percent bond, 111dollars by a retired Army man named Leo B. Hunt. Hunt, it turned out, was heavily involved in making pornographic films in the Las Vegas area; according to sources familiar with Hunt's operation, Hunt often bailed out young women arrested on prostitution charges in return for their working for him in his films....Leo Hunt was about to be charged in a Las Vegas court with producing child pornography. Eventually, Hunt would be convicted, and face a term of up to forty years in prison. In May of 2000, the 62-year-old Hunt killed himself with a gun."

Kevin Korey Responds

Nakita Kash's husband Kevin Korey writes in response to poster Tell Truth: Wow,once again your ignorance is showing on this one. For one, Nakita is just now doing guys in movies, you are correct. What you don't know, is that Nakita has had the freedom to have sex with men and women our entire relationship and has done so when she pleased. So, chances are I am much stronger than your small mind can comprehend.

Secondly, the idea that I have lived free because of this project is just plain sick. One doesn’t commit his entire life to aproject and work for FREE for 10 months, and cover the bills myself when others stopped fulfilling their fiduciary duties. Turn on Playboy this month and watch “Sexcetera” and you will witness a twenty (20) minute special on PornGirlsLive.com and while you are at it tune into Discovery channel in November for a half hour special on us as well as being seen in Britain on ITV and many other countries including but not limited to: Australia, New Zealand,Scandinavia, and Western Europe. As a matter of fact, we even got ourselves a spot on the Hot Network and were a sponsor for Vince Neil’s Celebrity Golf Tournament raising money for cancer research. Feel free to ask the talent that has been involved in this project if I in anyway had a free ride. Working 15-18 hour days with no salary on this project sure doesn’t sound like a free ride to me. Why are you so scared to reveal who you are? Someone has some secrets…tisk tisk. Now with all that said, shove your finger up your ass, rotate to the left and sing the National Anthem falsetto you f---ing saint. Wait, I have a better idea, hold your breath until I say to breathe. I need to get back to work….

Shay Sights Coming To San Francisco

Arthur Royal writes on BigDoggie.net: Wow, all you gentlemen already know that she has made my fantasies come true!! Now I urge you all to make yours come true too!! I have had her in my dreams while watching her movies many times, but let me tell you, live and in the flesh is where it's at!! I just saw her again while visiting L.A. on business and this is where she resides so if you are ever there check her out. If ever there was Heaven on Earth, it was that night!! She was just telling me that she will be in San Francisco, CA next weekend and in Las Vegas at the end of the month so I thought I would give all you guys the heads up. Also, an easy way to check in on where she will be is to check out her awesome website at ShaySights.com.

What About Gina Lynn?

From BigDoggie.net: After her initial tour got less than stellar reviews, nothing more has been posted. She is definitely hot, and I'd like to find out if she got over her initial "nervousness."

Pat Riley Talks To Kids About Trannies

I) Why do the majority of tranny vids have condoms?

Yikes! While trannies (or she-males) might look like girls they're still genetically male and most of the guys who perform with them are crossovers from the gay side of the industry. Since many of the gay porn performers are allegedly HIV+, precautions against infection seem wise. Further, as you have no doubt seen, many of the she-males are not adverse to doing a little butt banging of the guys themselves so one suspects that many of them have engaged in gay sex at some time, thereby increasing the likelibood that some she-males are also HIV+.

IV) Which TS pornstar shoots the biggest load? Also, why do most of them have trouble ejaculating?

When you take feminizing hormones you effectively kill off your bodies natural ability to produce testosterone thereby chemically castrating youself and reducing or eliminating your ability to have erections and ejaculate. The feminizing hormones are necessary to produce the tits, redistribute fat into the female pattern, and eliminate things like facial hair. Depending on how long the individual has been taking the female hormones, he may still be able to recover some male function by artificially obtaining testosterone (injection, gel, patch, etc.) but most of the time he's still going to be struggling.

V) Are there any TS vids with only male screwing tranny action? None of the guys giving the shemale a BJ or shemale f---ing guy stuff...

Occasional scenes in Rogue Adventures (#10 is one IIRC) have the she-male acting purely as a girl but I agree wholeheartedly, there's far too much of the non-she-male male being butt f---ed etc (if I wanted to watch a gay movie I would). Just a guess but I think it has something to do with the type of males who are attracted to perform in these movies.

Ginger Lynn's Twisted Life

According to criminologist Sheila Balkan, writing Judge Ronald Lew on September 17, 1991 (documents unearthed by CourtTV.com):

Glynn1 Lynn1 Lynn2 Lynn3 Lynn4 Nancy1 Nancy2 Nancy3 Judge Judge1 Judge2

Ginger graduated from high school in 1980. She moved out of her grandparents' home and shared an apartment with a girlfriend. She started working at a Musicland location and soon became assistant manager. She was also working as a waitress in a bar at night. Her problems with drugs and alcohol continued to develop during this period.

Ginger's description of her first serious relationship... after finishing high school...is symptomatic of desperation and lack of direction... She says: "I started living with this guy named Woody. He was another one involved with drugs, and he was bad news. He was physically abusive, but I never even gave it much thought."

Ginger's grandparents had moved to California by 1982 and were living in the Lucerne Valley. Ginger states that in September, 1982, she received a call one night while she was at work informing her that her grandfather had suffered a heartattack. She says, "I left for California that night, and I never went back to Rockford except for visits."

The death of her grandfather was emotionally devastating for Ginger. She says, "I didn't know what to feel. I was so lonely and scared, and I was angry at him in a way for leaving me." Patte observes, "Ginger was a mess when her grandfather died. To this day it's very painful for her. Her grandfather was the only positive male figure in her life, and her grandparents were the only people who really loved and cared about her."

Ginger decided to remain in California.

A boyfriend from Rockford came to California to join Ginger. Ginger recalls the man, Brian, was "the first nice boyfriend" she had ever had. However, Brian was unemployed, had car payments to make, and did little to contribute to their mutual support. Ginger recalls, "It was tough paying all the bills, because I had to support both of us."

Ginger answered an ad from the World Modeling agency in September, 1983. She states that she was asked during the first interview if she would pose for Penthouse Magazine, and that within a week she was made a "wall girl," models who were looked on as stars in the business. She says: "I was really thrilled theyy thought I was pretty enough to put in magazines. It made me feel special and popular. I was happy they thought I was attractive enough that people would want to see my photos.

"The first time I say myself in a magazine in a convenience store, I was so excited I ran around the store showing people these nude pictures of myself. I didn't even think about being embarrassed about it. I just thought I looked pretty. As far as I knew no one from Rockford had ever been in a magazine before. I was proud of it. I always had a dream about being famous."

Ginger states that she enjoyed the glamour and the sense of being special that modelling brought her. However, she felt "she was not good enough" to consider "mainstream" modelling. She felt she was not "pretty enough for that." And even despite her success in nude modelling, she retained a sense of her "real self" not being "good enough."

Despite Ginger's positive recollections of the pleasure she found in being prized as a model, it is also clear that a part of the appeal came from the same almost addictive need for approval and validation which she sought in her relationships. Ginger felt that her primary gift or appeal was her sexuality and her ability to please her boyfriends. She did not have any sense that her boyfriends valued traits such as intelligence, loyalty, and her gentle nurturing nature. Similarly, in her modelling and then in films, it was her sexual appeal that won approval.

Ginger's work in adult films started within a few months after she began modelling. She states that when she was first contacted about doing "commercial films" she did not even understand the term. She continues: "When I found out what they wanted me to do, I refused. I didn't see myself as that kind of girl. But then one day I walked into my agent's office and saw this woman who was elegant and beautiful sitting there reading a porno script. I thought, if this kind of woman can do these films, maybe they ain't so bad."

Ginger states she asked the woman to have lunch with her and "picked her brain." The woman told her that she made her own rules about what she would do in films, told her to never do anything she wasn't comfortable with, and "convinced me I could do it." Ginger says, "I always trusted women more than men. I never trusted men's motives. But I was really in awe of women who kept their own strength and independence."

Ginger made her first adult film in December, 1983. She recalls that she had her 21st birthday while she was on the set of the film in Hawaii.

Ginger states that she had little contact with cocaine up to the time she started modelling. In the entertainment field, cocaine was the "drug of choice" for many. Ginger began using cocaine at this point and became a heavy user almost at once.

Ginger's career skyrocketed while her life went into a major decline. She states she made 40 of her 69 adult films during 1984. She was also binging on cocaine regularly. She says, "I really don't remember a lot of what happened for a couple of years. I was at the time and really going at an incredible pace. A lot of it is just a blur." Ginger also states, "By the end of 1984, I reached the point where I had to do drugs in order to make a film."

Patte Hughes remembers clearly the sense which Ginger has described of the difference between the "Ginger Lynn" part of Ginger's life and her reality as Ginger Allen. She says: "I was really kinda surprised when Ginger first told me about being in adult films. But it really seemed like two different worlds. I would see Ginger when she would come back to Rockford for Christmases with her grandmother and father. And she was the same Ginger."

Ginger's grandmother Evelyn says, "When I first found out Ginger was involved in making adult films, I was shocked. But I learned to accept it, because whenever I talked with her or saw her, she was still the same Ginger. That was the most important thing to me."

By 1985, Ginger had decided to take more control of the films she was making. She says: "I started to get involved with writing some of the scripts. I really wanted to get out by that time and try to get into mainstream acting. But I felt I wanted to have some solid skills to take with me when I left."

Patte remembers: "I had been in touch with Ginger all the way along. At first she'd been really excited about the modelling and films. She had this instant stardom, getting all this attention when she'd never had anything before. It was incredible to her. But then...she'd told me she'd decided to get out of adult films. She seemed to have matured by that time and gotten more confidence in herself."

Ginger made her last adult film in February, 1986. She states she had her first role in a legitimate film in 1987. She says, "At first I was getting slashed in every bikini slasher film there was. I didn't want to keep doing that, because I think that kind of thing in films is harmful to women. But at least it got me into the mainstream arena."

Ginger soon began to obtain lead roles in low budget films, and began to have some opportunities in major films. She recalls being called for an audition for the film "Beverly Hills Cop II." She says: "It was the biggest thrill of my life. But when I got there, I found out they wanted me to strip in the film. They wanted me to play a slut. I walked out."

Ginger eventually moved up to small roles in major films and appeared in episodes of two television series, "Hardball" and "Sunset Beat." She has also become a recurring character in a children's series "Superforce."

Within the past two years, Ginger has won roles in major feature films. She appeared in "Young Guns II" in 1990, and has recently completed a film with noted director Ken Russell in which she costars with Theresa Russell.

Ginger is currently acting in a film called "Meantime" in which she also has the female lead. This is a film which, in Ginger's words, "is about betrayal, battered women, and friendship."

Clinical psychologist Dr. Nancy Kaser Boyd notes that test data "very much reflect her life history of physical and verbal abuse from her mother, and a number of incidents during adulthood which I would describe as sexually abusive.

"Though Miss Allen often presents herself as having been in control of her career as an actress in pornographic films, hearing some of the incidents...causes me to feel that she was often sexually exploited. In addition, she also experienced a frightening rape.

"Both clinical interviewing and psychological testing suggests that Ginger, though of at least average intelligence, is quite childlike in her psychological structure. She prefers to be passive and dependent, or taken care of. This, in my opinion, has made her ver vulnerable to individuals who wish to exploit her."

In this vein, one test result showed a marked elevation...indicating "widely-fluctuating self esteem, from feeling of weakness to those of extraordinary strength and specialness." On another test, the Rorshach, results indicated "feelings of overwhelming helplessness" and "a strong tendency to withdraw into fantasy and have difficulty facing the tasks of daily living."

Ginger discusses the circumstances around the tax charges and her state of mind at the time she worked in adult films during the period from the end of 1983 until 1986.

"I had no one in California to talk to about my decisions. I was using drugs and alcohol heavily. All I wanted to do during the years 1983 to '86 was to forget. When the police came to my house to read me my rights in November 1986, I had no idea that I was under investigation. I was already out of the business by then and trying to start my life over. When I was told to get a lawyer, I didn't know what to do. I knew nothing about the courts or criminal lawyers."

Ginger entered the Sunrise Center for treatment of her cocaine addiction in April, 1989. The program is 12-step oriented. She remained sober for more than a year, but suffered a relapse in late 1989. Ginger says, "I took one drink and just lost everything I'd gained." She renewed her efforts in recovery in August, 1990, this time with actor Charlie Sheen, whom she had met during the filming of "Young Guns II."

Mr. Sheen writes: "On August 6, 1990, I entered a local treatment center to finally put to rest the demons of alcohol and drugs that were trying to end my life. During these 32 days, Ginger was there for me every step of the way. Her presence both physically and emotionally proved to be one of the major reasons I was successful in that most turbulent journey. Ginger decided to join me on the path to sobriety, and to this day we've yet to set foot off the path. I am forever thankful to Ginger in her efforts to test her own will as well as mine. It is moments such as these when the definition of 'friend' is truly realized."

Ginger has been involved with two programs aimed at helping children who are suffering their own special forms of abuse. One is the Save the Children program...

The second program in which she is active is a Los Angeles-based program called "Children of the Night." This program aims to provide crisis intervention, shelter, food, clothing, and skilled counseling for teenage runaways. Many of these young runaways become involved in prostitution and pornography in order to survive on the street.

Ginger Lynn writes to Judge Ronald Lew (I excerpt):

Your honor, I don't want to make excuses for taking roles in adult films. I would just like to make clear that at the time this was presented to me, I was 20 years old, and had absolutely no idea of what I was getting into. As I became more and more involved with the films, I used more and more drugs and alcohol. ...[A]s time went on, I couldn't stand what I was doing. I started using cocaine as a way to escape and a way to cope with what I was doing at the time and was convinced that I would die young anyway. I guess I wanted to.

By 1986, I was completely out of the adult film business. I had reached a point where I couldn't do it anymore. I went into a deep depression, sometimes hiding in my apartment for weeks. I would reward myself after each film by getting high on drugs.

Your honor, I have been out of the adult film industry since 1986 trying to make a new life for myself. I still live under that shadow. I wouldn't make those same choices today. I am scheduled to begin working on a film on September 23rd for ABC Productions, "Meantime." The film is about battered women. The role is very important to me. I feel that I can make a contribution to helping women who have been abused.

Luke says: After reading these heartbreaking reports, it feels twisted to read reviews of Ginger's pornographic films.

During her stay in the islands, Ginger made A Little Bit of Hanky Panky. "Filmed in Maui, this is one of the first appearances for both Stacy Donovan and Ginger Lynn. Jamie Gillis and Ron Jeremy partake of R&R with the girls. While camping on a seemingly deserted island, Ron stumbles across a private retreat which specializes in sex games. From that point on, all hell breaks loose." (AVN)

Gentlemen prefer Ginger. "In some of her pictures, she delegates sexual missions to others, generally saving herself for a tour de force finale. In Gentlemen the star is everywhere. Her character juggles husband lovers with the skill of a circus performer. Wait till you see her demonstrate Zen Sex and the Art of Motorcycle Making It." (AFW 3/87)

"Ginger coaxes a burnt-out porn actor into a personal best effort. What follows is as close to a love scene as any in any X-rated picture, ending with the girl crying, "Don't pull out!" Though you don't see the spurts, the spasms say it all." (AFW 3/87)

The World According to Ginger. "Early on, she appears with Francois Papillon in a Garden of Eden sketch, offering him her ripe 'apple' while wearing nothing but flowered wreaths, her long blonde tresses falling softly all the way to her twitching ass. They f--- gloriously, two perfect bodies in an ecstatic exhibition that you might call 'gymnastic,' if it didn't look so effortless. Finally, she turns her face up to his climax for the radiant finish to a fabulous f---." (AFW)

Just Some Guy writes on RAME:

Hmmm. I wouldn't want my daughter to grow up and work in the "sex industry." But the risks of the sex industry have so little to do with the actual work, and more to do with the element of people involved, and the isolation and ostracising that occurs when "normal" society learns of a person's association with that industry. I would never make my daughter feel shunned or unloved regardless of my opinion of what she did. The most important things I want my daughter to have are freedom and responsibility.

I would want her to feel in ownership of her own sexuality, and to feel confident about her looks and her body, but I would want her also to feel confident about her mind and her personality so that she would never feel that her looks are all she has. I would not want her to feel repressed or ashamed, but informed and in control.

As a man who occasionally indulges in erotic photography and explicit materials, I have to say I am greatly encouraged by new trends in the world of "amatuer" pornography. The internet has permitted some exhibitionistic couples to distribute their own line of material, and it really shows that these people are couples and feel for each other. Personally, I hope this trend will lead to revolutionalization of the business of pornography, which has admittedly been seedy and shady since its inception. I know that some of these couples have significantly augmented or even replaced thier income with these efforts.

Perhaps we can prove that the act of creating pornography in and of itself is not destructive, but the act of socially repressing it and leaving it in the business hands of the scum of the Earth is.

Many are going to disagree with this post, but bear in mind I know my views are extreme. I am also a proponent for the legalization of many of the controlled substances we are waging a pointless and doomed "war" against.

Marijuana, for example, is said to be a step-up drug to harder substances. I lay the blame for this on the very fact that it is illegal. If you could buy it at the 7-11, the only thing marijuana would have the consumer stepping up to is a few too many Twinkies. Send, perhaps, a less educated user to Guido's doorstep for it, however, and he may just end up with a "free sample" of crystal meth, just to get him started.

I smoke marijuana occasionally. I do it in an informed manner, and I am self-educated on all the illicit substances and their medical effects. Marijuana is eminently less physically harmful than alcohol, and infintiely less addictive than tobacco (which I quit 2 months ago).

Yet I can never be sure any cannibis I have tried is not laced with something more dangerous. I can never know that some portion of the $25 bucks I paid to an acquaintance for it doesn't get back and fund the production of heroin, or the purchase of guns.

Similarly it has been an ethical dilemma for me in indulging in pornography occasionally as well. The amatuer market I spoke of before is just burgeoning. I not only look for the legal notice that participants are "of age," but since that age is amazing only 18, look for established, older participants. I educate myself a bit, investigate and look for participation from "stars" that seem to have self-respect, that have a viewpoint of sexual liberation and are in ownership of what they do. But again, you can never be sure that someone in the process isn't being victimised in some way.

Yet isn't this the dark side of our consumerism in general? You can't even buy a pair of tennis shoes in this day and age without the possibility that some 10 year old in a third world country working in appalling conditions assembled it for slave wages. Not unless you educate yourself on it, and research, and ensure as much as possible that your hands are as clean as they can possibly be.

So that is what I do regarding the "sex industry" and my use of pornography. I look for works by amatuer couples, I avoid or turn in anything I find which seems to involves someone underaged, and I look for "professional" work by those n ownership of themselves with declared philosophies that indicate they chose that work and are proud of it (Nina Hartley, Brandy Alexandre, etc.--the internet is the only place available to research these attitudes).

Personally, I find my standpoint less ethically troubling than that of the people who blindly throw their hat into the ring of general repression and social disapproval of these social concerns and vices. I consider myself an intelligent realist in that I'm not going to delude myself into believing fundamentalist dogma that we can actually rid human society of the vices and narcotics that have been with us throughout recorded history. I am proud that I have researched and discovered answers for myself, and not simply taken the center road that is laid out through social opinion. I fell LESS vulnerable to the dangers of vice and addiction because I am forewarned.

And I am working to spread this knowledge I have gleaned, to those who are interested, in the interests of conteracting the repression--which I believe to be the greatest factor in INCREASING the dangers of these fascinating facets of the Human Existance.

How easily we forget. Alcohol has always caused human misery as well as human merriment. But it was not until it was outlawed that it became the property of the outlaws. Its distribution did not stop, it simply became surrounded by death and deception, murder and mayhem. We took the very powerful vice of alcohol, and gave the power that it held and put it in the hands of criminals and sociopaths. Eventually we repealed that madness, but its distribution back in the hands of legitimate businesspeople, taxed it, controlled it, and robbed the criminals of that empowerment. It was the repression of the vice of alcohol, in the name of righteousness, that made it more destructive, dirty, and harmful.

It is my opinion that the same is currently true of controlled substances in a legal sense, and pornography in a social sense (and, lately in New York, a legal sense once again). Knowledge is power, and scum does not grow in the light. The more things that you make "unacceptable," the more vices and indulgences you make illegal or reviled--the more power you give to people who are black-hearted.

In my view of things, it is greatly ironic that those who blindly support the repression our society exercises are just as guilty for the suffering that goes on in our society, and all the more detestable for not having the moxie to admit it.

Sharon Mitchell Chat

Here are excerpt's from Sharon Mitchell's Yahoo Chat:

albert_300: About what percentage of actors and actresses in the industry are infected with various STDs, such as herpes, HIV, etc.?

Sharon Mitchell: A very small percentage. Less than 7% HIV, and 12-28% STDs. Herpes is always about 66%. People are medicated with acyclovir for herpes, which is very effective in preventing the herpes outbreaks. Chlamydia and gonorrhea, however, along with hepatitis, seem to stick to everything from dildos to flat surfaces to hands, so, pardon my expression, but we are usually up to our asses in chlamydia.

[Chaim writes: Hepatitis sticks to everything? Does she mean Hep-C? How on earth are they protecting themselves against it? Remember, Hepatitis often has lethal complications. Are the young shiksas who go into this trade warned in advance of the risks involved?]

Court TV Host: Those are all pretty high percentages, though?

Sharon Mitchell: Not when you consider that 700 people per month in the San Fernando Valley are working with each other. Most of these are co-infections. We are a partner notification facility, and all partners are located, detected and treated within one day of the original infected person coming forward. With partners Our statistics indicate that in this business, with first and second generation contact partner tracings, a disease can potentially reach as many as 198 partners in three days. So we have to move very quickly, medicate heavily, and rely on prevention, education and partner counseling. This is what makes Aim Health Care different and special because we're able to do it, and I'm a proud mother.

darsb69: What is your opinion of the quality/content of the movies made today?

Sharon Mitchell: What quality? Quantity? Actually, I don't watch porn. I really never have. However, short of driving a train up someone's anus, I don't know quite how much further it can go.

beachgirl_ca2001: Sharon, was there anything like this for you when you were a porn actress? And if there wasn't, is this why you chose to start this program? Thank you for your time.

Sharon Mitchell: Thank you for asking. No, there wasn't anything like this, and in 1998, there was an HIV outbreak in the industry. I had just finished graduating from the clinician's program in California, and part of me did not want to have anything to do with this industry ever again. I would have been happy to turn on my heels and walk away and work in a chemical dependency unit or an HIV unit, and blame my heroin addiction on the porn industry, but that's not true, and after a long meditation and prayer, I realized that here, at AIM Health Care, can I be of maximum service to God and to the people around me. And here, my life makes sense. The piece of the puzzle of the past fit together here, and I see myself in my chair in my office every day. I see 17- and 18-year-old girls every day who have no idea what they're getting into. I'm able to give them enough prevention education through my experiences and as a clinician, so that they can start their journey in the porn business based on all the truths, rather than all the assumptions. And as a counselor, I never tell people to leave the porn business or to get started in the porn business. Who am I to take the path away from the girl?

bobbyed53: What responsibilities do you feel filmmakers have towards actors regarding drug use, safe sex, etc?

Sharon Mitchell: That's a difficult question. AIM has been difficult to keep going, because the filmmakers feel that they have no responsibility for the health care of the talent. Whether I agree or disagree with that, the fact is, that ain't changing anytime quick. So my best hope is to do hat I have done: start a monitoring system for HIV testing that the industry has been grateful to comply with for 3 and a half years now. When talent gets a job, they cannot work without a negative test from AIM, so when new talent comes here to get their test, I get a chance to give them a tremendous amount of prevention education and information and knowledge of our support groups. And our unique programs, such as the Porn 101 series, which is actors like Nina Hartley, myself, Herschel Savage and Richard Pacheco, giving the benefit of our experience our strengths and our help to new actors getting started in porn. And being a recovering addict, IV drug users are my personal favorite.

Sir_Walter_1967: How do you think the industry is dealing with actors and actresses after they've been infected with AIDS, as far as emotional and financial support and being there for them?

Sharon Mitchell: They're not. If AIM were not in place, they would not have the advantage of early intervention programs, and what little support an HIV positive actor has boils down to working as a salesperson or an editor in these movies, which is better than nothing. However, in my opinion there's just not enough that one could do, considering the amount of economic exploitation these actors have experienced.

bdbwilde: Any chance of forcing filmmakers to take responsibility for health risks through OSHA or similar government agencies?

Sharon Mitchell: I have tried until I am blue in the face. To the best of my knowledge, this will not be happening any time soon. However, if Ashcroft decides to do that, I will be right behind him, tooting my horn.

domn8rx33606: Miss Mitchell, you mentioned you began in the industry underage, just how underage were you?

Sharon Mitchell: I was about 6 months away from 18, 17 and a half.

Court TV Host: Did that ever cause any problems for you or distributors?

Sharon Mitchell: No, honey, this was a long time ago. By the time my first movie was released, I was already 18. We're talking 27 years ago, guys. The only people that would've known were the raincoat guys.

Luke Gets Mail

Marshall Silver writes: Luke, hypnosis? And what the Hell is some biz flunkie from Arrow doing hypnosis for? What's next?...a chip implanted that turns them into a pure Robo-slut? I guess when drugs don't work, they have to find some other way.

Sandy McMush writes: Luke, a couple of comments on this Dynamite hypnosis thing. Modesto?...Modesto?...the center of the hypnosis world!. Why on Earth did Gary take her to Modesto? (could it be the only hypnotist they could find that was that unethical?). Luke, you better get on it and find out if Gary Condit has used this Amazing Marcus guy. And, the fact aside that Dynamite needs a boob job like a hole in the head, Michigan?...why go to Michigan for a boob job? Let me guess, Gary found her a "good deal". Well, if it's a "good deal", it'll be a "terrible job". Of course, they can always hypnotize her that they look good. Works with most of 'em.

LT writes: Dynamite, did it ever occur to you that maybe this desire to get a tit job came from a suggestion planted during hypnosis? You don't need them. You'll lose a lot of the appeal you have. You have a niche now and implants will ruin that. As far as the dance agent (who is it?), if he won't hire or get gigs for someone with real breasts, that's job discrimination, pure and simple.

Joey Dice writes: Hello Luke, I Have great respect for Mike South and his vast knowledge of the industry, but please tell him and other veteran film makers to stop making porn sound like rocket science. An astute porn connosieur with a common sense understanding of lighting, Apple computer editing software, and an adult industry legal pamphlet could easily produce a gonzo in this day and age. Distribution is the real obstacle. Why are veteran adult film makers always so quick to discourage up and coming film makers from entering the business? I've never heard Spielberg in the mainstream discourage up and coming film students. Competition only increases the quality of a product. Do young film makers pose a threat to the "old boy porn network"?

Porn star Galactica Galaxina writes: I was reading today your site, saw Kevin's name brought up. My sister had the opportunity to meet Kevin just recently, she is the one that wanted in the adult world industry, not to say I had not my self at one time, she is to under go a lot of needed cosmetic surgery coming up and if she choices to pursue that path I stand behind her, what I am getting at is this I seen the word mainstream brought up, and how some person was out and out attacking a Robert Lombard of Creative Image Management and Casting stating some rude remarks as to what mainstream is I think because of his friendship with kevin korey, well mainstream is many things, can be sending dancers out for shoots to videos music and extras to cable so forth, mainstream does not have to entail the full ball of wax of union guild sag so forth that is if adult entertainers would like to try there talents on a more main format as well as broaden there prospects in many areas. My sister and I work together we write and sound a lot a like, and I have talked to Kevin only by phone and E-mail but she has meet him her self and only had positive things to say, Kevin korey and I go back some, and I think in time hopefully a good friendship takes place, and I love and trust my sister and hope my self I my self can meet him, but he is a business person that has come a long way, we all have grown, but seems to me the party that flew off the handle at him and his girlfriend has some envy problems to take care of,hummmm I think so...

Village Voice Profiles LA's Porno Industry

Wordlessly, the negotiation has already begun. The Jewish man, a member of the ultra-orthodox Pornischer sect, looks tentatively at the Polish woman, approaches her uncertainly. The Polish woman ignores him, but monitors his advance out of the corner of her eye. The Polish woman has mouths to feed in her country. The Pornischer man needs talent for his latest porn movie. They come to do business on the Van Nuys south side, at the corner of Van Nuys and Ventura Blvds.

"You busy, busy? You want to work?" asks the Pornischer man, looking a bit forlorn in his shorts and sandles. The question begets a question:

"How many hours?" asks Teresa, the Polish woman.

"Four, maybe five."

"How much you pay?"

"Seven."

"No, I charge eight."

"I pay seven, my regular woman is sick today."

"Bye," says Teresa, turning her back. The Pornischer man works his way through the crowd of Polish women, but other potential employers are arriving: housewives, husbands in long black coats, even young girls-children, really-proffering scraps of paper with their grandmother's address. Demand is high today-the Sabbath begins at sundown; the local housewives have shopping to do, dinner to cook, numerous young children to care for, and porno that needs to be shot. Those who wait too long will have to settle for one of the brown-skinned women who stand near the light pole, speaking Spanish, or even Marie, the Haitian woman who sits by herself on a milk crate and is always the last one chosen.

The Jewish man works his way back to Teresa, "OK. Eight," he says. "I pay eight. But only if you'll do bukkake."

"No, I change my mind," says Teresa, and turns her back again, leaving the man staring at her platinum-blond dye job, a stunned look on his face.

Loud enough for the Pornischer man to hear, Teresa says, "He tell me four to five hours, that means three and a half. And he's a liar; I see it. I finish and he pays me seven, then we fight. You like the Jewish people? I hate them. When I see them on the street, I feel nauseous. He like a witch."

Teresa's attitude is not unique. Resentment is high between the Pornischer Jews of Los Angeles's San Fernando Valley and a hundred or so Polish day laborers who fornicate for them. A half-century after the war, the slaughter of their brethren burns the Jews like a live wire. Ask nearly any Pornischer to define the neighborhood and he or she will tell you, "We're a community of Holocaust survivors." They're keenly aware that Poland's large Jewish population was annihilated during the war.

Ask the Polish women how they like their work, and many ignore the question: "The Jews blame us for the death camps in Poland," they say. Echoing the Polish government's longtime position, they add, "It was the Nazis that killed the Jews. Not the Polish people."

"We want to be respected," the Polish women say, fairly seething as they talk about standing on the corner like prostitutes, about scrubbing someone else's knob, about the good jobs they had in Poland before the end of Communism. ("How can they say they are so religious? God doesn't want you to be so cheap about money," says one disgruntled woman.)

Now the Poles are on the street corner, asking the Jews for a job, Jews with numbers tattooed on their arms, Jews for whom the names of Polish towns-Auschwitz, Treblinka, Sobibor-are etched in memory. The irony is lost on no one.

Many of the whore-women are divorced or widowed. They come to Los Angeles on tourist visas and so do not have green cards. The corner supplies work, friendship, and referrals-where to find an apartment, a doctor, or a cheap meal-and it keeps them off the government's radar screen. Most are of a certain age; some, like Kaya, are elderly. Her hair is thin and her teeth are bad.

"I wouldn't be here if the Communists were still in power-everybody worked, we had free health care," she says, speaking through a translator. She first came to New York two years ago on a tourist visa.

"The work was so hard, and I missed my family. I cried every night. I lost 20 pounds. They give everyone a false view of how life is in America," she says. A nervous breakdown sent her back to Poland.

She arrived home to find her children unemployed, her grandchildren unable to afford college. She remembers thinking, "My life is over, but my family still has their life ahead of them." She returned to Encino, where she lives in a single room with three other women. Her share of the rent is $130. She makes about $1200 a month (mainly working for Ed DeRoo's Totally Tasteless Video), never eats out. Worn-out dresses hang off her bony frame. Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 2:30, she waits with the alcoholics and the infirm at the Temple Beth Porno for the free lunch. Every available dollar is sent home.

Her grandchildren are back in college. She pays for their education with 60 hours a week, sucking, f--king and wiping. She cleans schlongs with a matchstick, as she is asked, but won't scrub the anuses of Ron Jeremy lookalikes on her hands and knees with a shmatte (rag), as the Jews request. She insists on using a mop. This costs her work and is a major source of tension between the Poles and the Jews. The Polish women speak almost no English.

On a recent morning, a street corner argument went like this:

"No shmatte-mopo, yes," says the Polish woman.

"Yes shmatte, shmatte, no mopo," replies the Jewish woman.

"Yes, mopo, yes mopo. No shmatte," The Polish woman makes a face and points to her knees.

The Jewish woman makes a circular wiping motion. One last "Yes, shmatte," and the Polish woman folds, following her new boss sullenly down Lee Avenue.

The Pornischers seem genuinely bewildered, even wounded by the Polish women's complaints. "We clean our own on our hands and knees; it's cleaner that way," says Sarah Stern, a local resident who has used Polish cleaning women for years. As for the wages: "They get off the boat and the next day they are making more than minimum wage. We usually pay them seven dollars an hour. We are poor people; the average family here has 12 children; many of the husbands make less than they're paying the cleaning woman. How can we pay them more?" A prominent local rabbi asks simply, "If they can make more elsewhere, why are they here working for us?"

Pornography is the standard route into the economy for Polish women like Alexandra Nice - they are sucking and f--king all over Los Angeles. The younger women-and those who speak some English-work through agencies like World Modeling or word of mouth.

Van Nuys and Ventura Blvds is the corner of last resort. All through the day the Polish women come and go from the corner, finishing one job and returning to find another. An hour before sunset, the sidewalks are filled with men in black coats, and the Sabbath warning siren blows, sounding out across the rooftops. The Polish women work more quickly now, finishing the last of their scenes. If the sun has already set, and the Jews are proscribed from touching switches or machinery, they ask the cleaning women to turn off the lights and camera before they leave. The Polish women oblige, and then, with throbbing hands, pocket their money and head back to rented rooms.

Hatchet-thin, in pants too short and a threadbare sweater, the Mexican farmhand's almost embarrassingly earnest and friendly attitude stands out on the corner of jaded men, many of whom have been cheated of wages, or injured and abandoned by pornographers. At 7 a.m. on a damp June morning, he is in the shape-up. He passes the time studying a list of English words he thinks might be useful: prick, cum, bukkake, double penetration, wood, dollar, the numbers one through 10. The other men begin to drift in, moving wraithlike through the San Fernando mist along a seedy stretch of Van Nuys Avenue, past the rolled-down gates, used furniture shops, and a dozen storefronts where you can send money to Mexico.

They gather in small groups. The Chilangos from Mexico City stand in front of No. 1 Chinese Food, the Oaxacans near the bank. Up the block, the cholos—down-on-their-luck gangbangers, all baggy pants, bandannas, and dead eyes—are blowing a joint in a doorway. The sweet smoke washes over the others as they watch for a van or a beat-up pickup with a telltale video camera and extra douches lashed down in the back.

A few minutes past 8 a.m., a gleaming black Lincoln drifts to the sidewalk. The driver, a middle aged white man named Regan Senter, with a brush cut and a gold chain, holds up five fingers. Javier and two dozen others bolt from the wall like sprinters leaving the blocks. In an instant the car is surrounded by a mass of pushing, shoving bodies.

"Off the car, off the car," shouts Senter. Then, to no one in particular, "Geez, it's like a f---ing zoo around here." He leans toward the window: "I need five guys. Anybody speak English, English? First you have to make a compliance video with me. Then we make a bukakke video for Jim Powers."

***

A burgundy minivan veers out of traffic toward the curb, setting off a commotion among the 20 or so men standing on the corner. They charge forward, weaving through a line of cars at a dead run.

"Who wants to star in American Bukkake?" shouts the driver, Jeff Steward. The men jostle for a spot at the window, calling back, "I'm a good worker," and "I'll work hard."

The driver points to five men; they quickly climb in. Names and pleasantries are skipped: "We're splooging on a blonde whore. How much you want?" The day laborers speak to each other in Spanish. "Twenty dollars," someone says.

"No, I pay twelve out here all the time." Everyone in the van knows this is a lie—fifteen is the norm—but the men are angling for extra.

"You want twenty, I offer twelve, we agree on fifteen." The negotiation is over. The driver pulls away from the curb, tires screeching.

One of the workers won't give up. "No, I want $18."

Steward stops the van. "OK, get out. There are plenty who will work for less."

The man climbs out; the others stare through the windows at the idle workers on the curb.

Silently they decide fifteen dolars will do.

Minutes later, the four workers are in a Van Nuys bukkake factory. The work site is a union shop steward's nightmare: piles of rotting garbage; hundreds of burned-out lightbulbs; and an open elevator pit, exposing the workers to a 40-foot drop. Unbeknownst to them, the building has been ordered closed because it contains asbestos. Before the day is out, two of the laborers will be involved in a workplace accident, and the others, covered in sweat and dust, will be witness to another. One Mexican is accidentally squirted in the eye with radioactive cum.

Worst of all, the shoot today is not American Bukkake but the blowjob series Gag Factor. Every now and then a movie comes along that touches peoples' lives and captures their hearts. JM Productions' Gag Factor is NOT one of those movies.

"Gag Factor is unlike any blowjob you've ever seen," Legend's Nelson Ayala tells the Mexican porn laborers. "How? 1. Every girl must swallow each cum load. 2. Every whore gets violently throat f---ed till she's teary eyed and gagging, and can't speak for days. This is not your daddy's blow job movie. This is Gag Factor. So ask yourself this question: Are you perverted enough to handle it?"

The Mexicans dumbly nod yes and get to work on the three comely Puerto Rican whores.

There are no breaks, no unions, and no taxes—the men don't even know the girl's names. Yet, at the end of the day, they will go home $15 richer. Tomorrow they'll be back on the corner, looking for another job.

Mike South Appalled

MikeSouth.com writes: Hey Luke, I am appalled that the Village Voice would run that obviously fabricated piece of nonsense. For starters the Jews in this biz dont shoot the movies, there is no corner where porners go to pick up polish immigrant talent, nobody in porn has a "regular" woman and I would love to see the so called "crowd" of polish women waiting for work...what a crock. Tell me this is some sort of a hoax and that the village voice did not really run that story...or at least tell me they immediately retracted it and fired whoever wrote it.

Tasteless Porn Journalism

Deborah writes: Luke-- I've watched with very little interest these last few months while Gene Ross' site has deteriorated to an ass-kissing homage to the Extreme way of moviemaking...where nothing is too vulgar, too violent, too repulsive or too denigrating towards women. In fact, I doubt I've seen his site much at all in the last two monthss. Frankly, if you've seen a hundred women's bare butts, you've pretty much seen them all.

But I had a few minutes today and took a peek and found this comment on the death of model Natasha Duncan:

"Gene sez: Just had a conversation yesterday with a lady who fits Duncan's body type and all she kept mentioning is how she had to lose weight, how she had to lose weight, how she had to lose weight...very sad, indeed. Today, in Duncan's memory I'm going to the Wilhelmina website and jack off to its portfolio of big chick pictures. Anyone with similar dispositions towards big women are invited to do the same at http://www.wilhelmina.com/models/ten20/"

Perhaps the lady would not have been such a sad case if pigs like Ross ever looked past her hips and saw the warm, loving, sexy, intelligent woman she may well have been. Perhaps if pigs like Ross ever viewed women as something more than a great piece of ass and sized one up as a human being instead of a picture to be judged on looks alone Ms Duncan might have had something to hold on to when her life took such an obvious turn into darkness. So keep your pants zipped, Gene Ross. The only "tribute" the thought of you or your ilk jacking off to my picture (size 16 sweater and all) or the pictures of any "plus size" woman leads to for me is projectile vomiting.

Gene sez: "As a matter of fact I have been looking for a warm, loving, sexy intelligent woman with a GREAT ass and natural tits. Know where I can find any in LA that don't charge $300 a hour? And, by the way I've seen thousands of women's bare butts and don't feel as though I've seem them all."

Luke says: Gene Ross wrote the January, 1996 Adult Video News magazine editorial:

"And here I was about to go off on another one of Hustler Erotic Video Guide's literary equivalents of spousal abuse. The magazine in its January issue saw fit to haul AVN into the small claims court of criticism. Why? Because we had the audacity to print Alex Jordan's real name in a news report about her suicide. This comes from a periodical whose bad taste track record runs only a close second to its self-conscious attempt at s---house journalism. You want tasteful? How's this for tasteful? A sampling of HEVG's own deft handling of the Jordan story is as follows: "Hanging in the closet like a slab of putrefying beef, swung the lifeless carcass known to the world - well, the porn world anyway, as Alex Jordan." Touching sentiments to say the least. Wait, it gets better: "...her mouth...was open in a hideous gape, leaving the once-pretty porn patty's face looking like a Kabuki mask framed by a Bozo the Clown hairdo."

The author of the Jordan article, Wally Wharton, explains her style as a protest against suicide.

l-keford.com Merchandise

Helpful writes: Have a contest to design your l-keford.com shirt. Click here: CafePress.com

Luke says: I spent 30 mins on Cafepress.com Sunday designing l-keford.com merchandise such as T-shirts but they only allow for a picture on the shirt a max of 2.5 inches...and so I gave up. I feel that I deserve a bigger picture on the shirt.

Goddess writes: Hey, Luke, screw those t-shirts on CafePress. Go for the boxers and slap your face right where the dick would be.

Helpful writes: Luke, I went to cafepress.com and there are plenty of shirts with large graphics. You just have to look a little harder. Anyhow, here are my submissions for the l-keford.com t-shirt contest. Anyone else want to try?
