The LA Weekly called Wash West's gay porno "The Devil Is A Bottom" one of the 20 best films of last year. "The critic is very progressive and open minded and doesn't draw lines between high art and low art. I think it's because Jesus (played by AVN's Mickey Skee) appears at the end too.
"Three guys make a Faustian bargain with the Devil for their pleasures on earth. One wants money, one wants love and one wants a big dick. They all get their wishes. Britt drills me with questions and videotapes me.
Britt: "Do you really think you are qualified to be a moral leader. You are being a total hypocrite by being here right now. You are completely negating everything you believe in. This is why you have constant conflict. You need to choose a side. If you want to be a journalist, go cover a parade. You're not Jewish and you're not Christian. You are a hypocrite."
Tina Tyler sees me under the gun.
Tina: "Britt, please don't piss of the press."
Jason: "We really want him to stay."
Tina: "We're really trying to work with him."
Britt: "He isn't pissed off. I'm him for him."
Jason: "Luke invited her."
Britt: "You guys are independent. I represent Luke. This is for Luke's prosperity."
Luke: "I simply don't live up to the highest ideals of my religion."
Jason: "Do you have a lot of guilt about that?"
Britt: "Apparently you do."
Jason: "It's not even guilt. It's despair. There's a cloud of sadness and despair around you every time I see you."
Luke: "Ok, I'm depressed. I admit it."

The movie is set in the 1940s and everybody wears costumes. Shanna McCullough wears a hair covering that in Jewspeak I'd call a sheitl.

When offering basic opinions on what I read, that are often EXACTLY the same of other people, I'm burned in effigy for it. As for suing people... name one. If you say John Stagliano, you have to stop and think about his business practices and the fact he broke a contract. So, who is the bad guy in that case?
I talk to Leo Buck about all the gay porn stars who are dying left and right. And not of AIDS. Rather, drugs.
Leo: "Steve Fox was a dynamite looking porn star out of Atlanta. And he was like a football player. He was 6'2", 210 pounds. Blonde, blue eyed. He had a phone sex line. You could call in and hear somebody read off stories. And he needed someone to write stories for him. That's how I got into the industry.
"I've known more than my share of [porn] people who died of drug overdoses and things like that. Steve ended up shooting himself because he was hooked on Crystal and steroids. I think there are more than regular [work] law or insurance..."
Luke: "How many industry people do you know who've died?"
Leo: "Unfortunately, four within the last year. We were having a memorial service for one of these guys [Jamoo] at AIM Healthcare. And the memorial degenerated into what can we do to prevent this from happening. And we got involved with Sharon and now she has an active gay outreach as part of AIM Healthcare.
"Jamoo was a porn star and a writer. He wrote for Freshman and Unzipped. He also published three books. Superstars, a photo collection of gay porn stars. He did the life of the directory Kristen Bjorn. And I worked on his last book, Superstars 2.
"He died of a drug overdose. They think it was a Dilaudid, a prescription drug. He was hooked on prescription drugs.
"I got Stable and Sharon Mitchell together. Stable's release party last December for "The Servant" was a benefit on behalf of AIM's gay outreach.
"Kyle McKenna [drug overdose] and two other gay porn stars [depression] died within the past year. We're losing too many people to drugs and stupid things that could be prevented."
Luke: "How come HIV testing isn't widespread throughout the gay industry?"
Leo: "You'd be surprised. There's a lot of resistance. A lot of people think they would be shut out or ostracized [if they tested HIV positive]."
Luke: "Because so many of the performers are HIV positive?"
Leo: "I imagine. But on our side of the industry, condoms are required in almost everything. And if you do have a bareback video, there are a lot of publications and reviewers who won't deal with you. So bareback stuff is falling out of vogue."
Luke: "Would you have sex with a man who is HIV positive?"
Leo: "Yes. Honey, I have. But always safe, protected. If you're careful and play it safe, the chances are negligible of you getting it."

But because Pat and Shelby weren't there to pick her up when her plane came in, and were hour hours late, in the meantime, she met this guy at the airport and stayed at the Radisson. The next day she flew home. So they called Stevie. Everybody flies home Tuesday night.
"I did two scenes. I was supposed to do more but because of uncontrollable circumstances, they didn't happen."
Keri did her first boy-girl scene with Mark Davis in September, 2000.
Keri: "I still look foward to going on sets. I still get nervous. I get giddy. I've had boy-girl sex where it is directed and I've had boy-girl sex where it is do whatever feels right. I prefer to do whatever feels right. I hate directed boy-girl sex. It makes me feel very vulnerable. With girls, I am in control. With boys, I am submissive."
Luke: "Have you had any bad experiences?"

Even though the guide said several times to not shoot there. Next thing you know, this woman comes from behind the house and goes, 'Who's that man getting a blowjob?'
"Next thing I know, Heather Lynn comes in. I was in the bathtub. Heather says, 'Keri, get everything you've got. The police are coming.' The caretaker of the house had to call the owner of the house and we were asked to leave that night and pack up a thousand dollars worth of food and move to the Sheraton on the other side of the island.

Luke: "Who are your best friends in the industry?"
Keri: "Lauren Montgomery. I'm so busy. I don't have a day off until the ninth of May.
"I entered the industry in October of 1998. In my second movie, I did a scene with Tina Tyler in DMJ6 [Devil in Miss Jones 6]. And I work with her in this movie. When [today] they handed me the script in a notebook, it reminded me that DMJ6 was the last time when I also received a script in a notebook. When things were so formalized."
Marianne Walters, formerly the porn star Kelly Nichols, does the makeup on Keri as we talk. Marianne is muscular and reportedly a kick boxing devotee. She says that female porn stars typically take an hour to prepare. Most hetero male porn stars don't use makeup (though some need it to take away the circles under their eyes). Most gay porn stars take about 15 minutes to work up.
I hear that Herschel Savage brings his own makeup kit to a shoot.
