You have to be careful and remember the differences of materialistic things and why you did this to begin with.

MSNBC Investigates - Sex, Lies & Videotape

Chad writes: Tonight (saturday) on MSNBC there was a show called MSNBC Investigates Sex,Lies and Videotape from 9-10pm. Luke reads Roy Jeff's letter.

Roy: "I don't want to hear any of this. He gave you a whole story about the whole thing? Well no, I don't threaten physical violence.

"I don't know what to say."

Roy speaks away from the phone.

"This is Luke F-rd, honey. He just got an email from Krista Leigh's husband recounting... How do I tell you as a human being this wouldn't be good to print? But as a journalist you have your job to do. I stay out of the rumor mill.

"She did not show to two of my movies. And didn't call me on the second one which pissed me off so I told her what I thought of her. But I didn't threaten her life.

"Yeah, I don't do that. Especially on a phone machine. I am not stupid. Anyway Luke, the best to you in the New Year."

Jeff tells Luke: "Pretty threatening [messages], weren't they for somebody who didn't threaten?"

Luke: "Yeah, good stuff."

Jeff: "The guy is a jerk. He's done this to a lot of other girls before. We've heard this about several girls... He just yells and screams and rants and raves... He's a jerk who needs to learn how to treat his people."

Luke: "I don't think he's ever physically done anything to anyone."

Jeff: "I'm not concerned about it. I'm a big guy. I can take care of myself. I wanted to go there that day and beat his ass but I wouldn't do that out of respect for everybody and everything."

Luke: "And he did call back and apologize."

Jeff: "Yeah, after he made all those threats. The guy is just a nut case. But you don't go off and threaten people..."

Krista through her laryngitis: "The only reason that he called and apologized was because I knew the location where he was... And I could have him arrested [for making threatening phone calls?]..."

Jeff: "It's kinda cool right now. I can f--- with her and she can't bitch me out. I like it. I hope it is permanent."

Roy Karch writes: Luke, Since you and the Krista Leigh contingent have chosen to go public regarding Krista's 2nd no-show in as many bookings, as well as posting your own, secretly taped, phone call to me, I thought you should, indeed get the WHOLE story.

Here's how it went down.... After not showing for her 1st shoot with me on 12/8, claiming baby sitter problems, but replacing herself; it is now 12/19 and Krista is 30 minutes late for her 8 am call (1st scene up, as we arranged, so that she wouldn't have to wait on anyone). Now, let's understand this together, Luke, 12/8, baby sitter problems, 12/19, car problems. But I digress..... Let me set the scene: now at the location, which has been been rented and the clock has been ticking since 8 am when, coincidentally Krista was due to go into make-up with Renee Parry, who is always on time. Also at 8 am, Lighting Designer, par excellence, James Nono, began illuminating the set for the very same Krista Leigh, who by the way, is not in make-up and hasn't called. At 40 past 8, Kyle Stone arrives and after hearing that his would-be co-mingler, Krista wasn't yet among us replied, "I knew it... I shoulda brought someone with me. I've been hearing that she's been flaking."

That was my first inkling that Krista might not show. AGAIN! So, as I begin to look at my watch, I hear the very distinctive voice of CHLOE entering the location. My star has arrived! Quickly to make-up with wonderful Chloe, hoping to make up some time and shoot some singles or dialogue with the 1st girl.... oh, the 1st girl, uh, that would be, uh, Krista, but she hasn't been heard from since we confirmed three days prior. Then, another familiar voice; this one with an English accent and wears a beautiful head of long blond hair. My "eyes" have arrived... Barry Wood! "Have you called her? Well, we've got to shoot". I look at James. "We're lit". Sitting next to me, Jace Rocker, my uber-tech informs me, "Camera's ready". I think it was about here, Luke, that I made the first call of the day to Krista. I still wasn't sure, even though it was past 9:30, that Krista wasn't still on her way. The thought that she would be a flake again was unfathomable to me. THAT wasn't possible! Was it? I move quickly to craft services for another coffee and pick up the house phone and dial Krista's #.

Now get this... she and I have never met. She was recommended to me by an actor, Rod Fontana, who has just arrived for his part in the 2nd scene due up, sizes up the sitch and says, "You betta call 'er!" So, her answering machine picks up and I leave her that 1st, somewhat in disbelief, message. As I drink my coffee, not believing that this woman I gave a 2nd chance to, has done it to me again, I begin to get steamed. Chloe is calling possible replacements from the make-up chair. And the crew sits. And the location clock keeps ticking and the morning light is passing and the donuts are gone and the hard boiled eggs are even being eaten. And I look around as my blood pressure inches up a notch and I see the very best crew in the bizness sitting around waiting for this person called Krista Leigh. And we're unable to shoot until Chloe gets out of Renee's hands or until a replacement can be found and into make-up with a script in her hands and learn the few lines Krista had. And so we ALL sit! As I pace, someone says call her again. This time, the call (the 2nd) was made in front of the entire crew, and with a certain kind of mischievous delight as I already knew that my morning was ruined.

And so, with my crew around me and Chloe laughing in the background, I performed my own piece of "living theater", full with the rage that I was feeling, full with the disappointment searing through me that another person has proven to me that I shouldn't have trusted them. And as the crew stared on at me, I spoke the words that have built-up over 30 years of no-shows, and false excuses and incomplete and inaccurate posturings; the words of a pissed off, 4-pack-a-day producer, who put 'em down cold 11 days before this shoot; the words that made the crew laugh and not mind the time that was passing with no work going on, the words that I hoped would resonate deeply into this Krista person's psyche, as deeply as she was resonating in my pressure cooker of a brain. And I heard Kyle say, "Vivian Valentine is on her way."

So, Luke... now it's ten-ish and a replacement has been found for the M.I.A. Krista, who by the way is still a no-call, no-show 2 hrs. past her call time. I find myself a ton more relaxed as Barry Wood reminds me about overtime as he eats his morning cereal... his third course for breakfast this morning. SO relaxed, in fact that I dial Krista again to APOLOGIZE for the messages she had to endure earlier that a.m..... Mickey G. and Chloe are ready to block the first scene of the day. What the heck... it's only 11 am!... So, Luke, that's how it went down on the inside. Which leads me to speak to two other issues: When I 'm shooting on any particular day... I have X amount of dollars tied up into a VERY important part of my life, my CAREER.... A career, I might say that is in its fourth decade... That's correct!

In 1970, I acted in front of the camera, and even though they were only "loops", I was always on time for my call. And now, thirty years and many hundreds of movies and starlets later, I still show up on time for work. No one has ever lost a dollar due to my tardiness. Krista Leigh cost me a lot of money those two days and now eleven days after the shoot, her husband (?) reports to the top gossip site in our biz that his wife has been wronged! Give me a break! And while you're at it how 'bout giving me the seven hundred you cost me while we waited for you, Krista.... Or is that just something that is supposed to be absorbed by us producers who, just as your husband reminds us, make our living from the talent, also provide you with a very substantial living... that is if and when you show up! It's called SYMBIOSIS. Look it up, if you can spell it.

Now, let's look at this picture clearly, Luke. We all thought it was quite funny, actually. This director, me, whose career touches 4 decades, whose career includes 2 Hall of Fame Awards, over 30 years of film making, ranting on the phone to some "I've done 3 scenes" soon to be nobody!.... As you know, there's a lot of money on the line during shoot days, The pressure is on to perform and one bad apple, like a girl in the first scene not showing or calling, can set a horrible tone for the rest of the day. Luckily, my crew and most of the cast has been with me for a long time and so we try to roll with the punches the best way we can. Too bad Mr./Mrs. Leigh don't share our sense of humor. Sure I went over the top, but, then again, I've always had a flair for the dementedly dramatic.

Which brings me to my 2nd point... Look it up, Luke. You know enough about me and enough people who know enough about me to know the kind of man I am. It shouldn't be too much of a stretch for you to figure out that some people crave publicity and will go to any lengths to get some. You, however, Luke, HAVE NO EXCUSES. In your case, it's as if the venom that runs through others needs to be transmitted via your own mythologized version of reality, so that people such as the "Kristas" of the world, who by the way, I still haven't had the pleasure of meeting or hearing from, although her hubby surfaces eleven days past due with audio tapes under his arm, have their 15 minutes. And why not? Everybody needs their 15 minutes. Even Krista! NOW... all three of you can BLOW ME! Lovingly and Truthfully, ROY KARCH

Jeff, the husband of porn star Krista Leigh, writes Luke:

hey luke, i'm writing to you regarding a couple of messages that my wife krista leigh recieved from a pretty well known producer. it is pretty disturbing to think that a producer who according to him is getting ready to start a contract with vivid and shoots for other well known companies would think that he can threaten physical violence and destroying a career over his own incompetence and uncontrollable temper. if noone has figured it out by now, i'm talking about director/producer roy karch.

i'm sure some had already figured this out especially anyone with previuos contact with mr. karch since this guy has a well known history of this type of behavior. i'm not sure if he has ever threatened physical violence towards women before or has spent any time in jail for this but obviously this guy needs a reality check. it amazes me that a company of the size, stature and reputation of vivid would consider hiring such a loose cannon. i don't understand what makes directors, producers or owners etc.. think that because a girl works in adult films that they are fair game and unworthy of the respect that they themselves expect and insist upon. after all isn't it the talent that enables a producer to work? it just seems to me that if you don't treat talent with respect and continually blow up to the point of running talent off then it would make it difficult for you to showcase your talents as a producer, or director. people do talk and word does get around in this industry about producers as well as talent and their behaviors.

we had been warned of mr. karch but knowing you can't believe everything you hear, gave him the benefit of the doubt and scheduled with him. the first time mr. karch scheduled a twelve oclock call time and the morning of the shoot krista called at 10 am to see that they were on time knowing that things happen and sometimes shoots run late. with us having children and paying childcare which takes away from her pay, she wanted to make sure that everything was on time. don't get me wrong, krista loves what she does and doesn't do this for just the money since as you know the money's not that great, but it is nice to get payed for something you love doing and everyone has bills to pay. anyway they told her to change her call time to 2pm and call at 1pm to make sure that they were on time. like she was instructed she called at 1pm and was told to change her call time to 4pm and call at 3pm.

she called at 3pm and was once again put off till 6 pm and call at 5pm to see where they were, knowing that the babysitter we were using then was unable to keep the kids late and was pretty disgusted at being put off time and again, krista explained this to mr. karch's pm. he replied everything should be fine at this time so call at 5pm. at 5 pm once again she called and was put off again and this time she insisted on speaking to mr. karch and the pm put mr. karch on the phone. he told her to come on down and he would shoot her scene when she got there and krista explained she would have to call our babysitter and make sure she was still available. she hung up called the babysitter who didn't answer (which who could blame her, it's not like she has nothing better to do than wait on mr. karch) and called mr. karch back to let him know that she couldn't make it do to the babysitter being gone.

mr. karch erupted into one of his hot tempered babblings of bulls--- like it was her fault and hung up on her. krista at this point felt bad and called mia domore to see if she could cover and do the shoot. mia being the wonderful, horny person that she is jumped at the chance and called mr. karch and he scheduled her and was back in business. he then called and apologized and said how great it was that krista not only called but replaced herself which he later found out was a terrific replacement. we found out later that the scene started at 1:30 am and was done at 3:30 am.

mr. karch calls a couple of days later to schedule another shoot and they arranged their time of 8am for makeup. on the morning of the shoot we were on our way and the waterpump went out on our car. krista started calling home to check messages to see if mr. karch had left a message and phone # since we didn't have it with us. we were going to find other means of transportation for her to get there while i took care of our car. finally mr. karch left three messages but after hearing them krista decided that this is noone she wished to work for any longer and who could blame her just listen for yourself.

for the record i call roy karch mr. karch, not because of the respect i have for this piece of s--- but for the god like status he seems to think he carries and the importence he seems to think he has in my life. mr. karch get a clue pal! you may be a good director although i had never heard of you till now but maybe just maybe you should give consideration and respect to the ones who got you where you are and where you may or may not go. you expect a girl to wait for you on a 12pm call time till 1:30 am and then she goes above and beyond to make Your incompetence work for you and when she runs an hour late, you're going to threaten physical violence. what about returning a little consideration? for your information she does have a husband and i am by no means intimidated and normally do not get involved in my wife's business but this time i'll make an exception just for you.

if you have any more threats please direct them my way as you have our home phone number and i'd love to meet you in person you pompus ass, conceded, arrogant, piece of s--- to "discuss" this further. what a weiner i mean winner vivid was lucky enough to have recieved and graces their presence. your excellency next time threaten men not women at least you might get a little respect even though you don't seem to deserve any.

Brian Kushner writes: "What a crock of s--- about the car breaking down. This chick sounds irresponsible and now blames it on messages left on her machine. When you are scheduled to be at a shoot and your car breaks you park the car and get a cab, a ride whatever, you obviously know there are many other people working the shoot that are awaiting your arrival.

"As for the messages, I find they showed some restraint and I would have probably done the same thing in the heat of the moment, the one thing I wouldn't have done is call back and apologize for leaving the messages. They were deserved and Krista didn't deserve an apology. All directors take heed when booking this irresponsible person."

Kim writes: "hello ...luke krista and jeff are full of s--- !!! i know that she has missed more then just that one shoot and i know that there water pump didnt go out .. they dont have a car they have a rent-a-car...there car broke down a couple weeks ago and they use a rent-a- car to get to shoots im sure if you did some checking you would find s--- out and find out that in the last couple of mo. krista has missed more shoots then she has done."

Krista Leigh writes: hey luke...its me krista, i would've called but i still don't have my voice back yet. anyway i figure jeff has done enough talking after all this is all about me. so now i'm going to say my piece... kim, kim who? do i know you? do you know me? obviously you don't because if you did you'd know that i do own a car a black mazda, which my husband wrecked a month ago and had repaired, unfortunately it wasn't fixed properly and didn't make it all the way. i have recipts etc showing the car repair. also it was done at auto repair here in the valley by a man named jack. as for you roy, i have been begging my husband to let me have you arrested... but he says its not a good idea, keep talking s--- please, i think you are finally convincing him otherwise... talk about publicty. for questions reguarding my track record try calling one of the following companies and talk to someone who knows me.

as for wanting publicity, if we were truly seeking publicity i would've come and beat your ass and sent you back to the 60's all though you seem to still be there, especially since avn was there. or my wife would've had your ass taken away in chains, they love exfellons who threaten violence towards women. maybe we should've went one of those two routes instead. one thing for sure you would've been reintroduced to free love. this is not a publicity stunt you prick, just letting people know what a lying lunatict you are so other girls don't make the same mistake of scheduling with you.

hey luke just wanted to answer brian and kim. first off brian, you don't know my wife's track record and if you left threats you would be in the same sinking boat with no talent at an 8am call time. this guy has a long history of this behavior and what about what producers owe talent when they run late. there are alot of directors in this business who think they can push girls around and not give the same consideration and respect that they expect. i'm not labling all directors this way cause we are friends with alot and have great working relationships others. so if you leave threats on my phone like roy i would classify you as the same lowlife caliber peice of s--- not deserving of a call back. but only this time we would have the common sense to have your ass arrested.

p.s. who are you? are you in the business? never heard of you, do you have the right to speak out if your not in this business when you wouldn't have a clue as to how things work. if you are in the business then it's trash like you that gives this business a bad name. thanks for your wonderful comments.

kim, it's funny how many people wanna act like they know what's going on and i'm pretty sure you have no clue as to our life and what goes on it. especially considering i don't know a kim and neither does krista. as for our car, i had a wreck a couple months ago and it was in our car. shows how much you really know. we were driving a rental car while we got ours fixed but we did get it fixed or supposedly fixed. on the way to roy's shoot the waterpump went out and i do have receipts which i'd be glad to produce to back this up. do i really need to prove myself to someone who apparently doesn't have a clue. as for krista missing other shoots, she has missed a couple here lately but we have kids and if my kids are sick they come first. have any kids kim? maybe you'd leave your kids withn a sitter while you get f---ed in the ass but we don't. thanks for your comments.

Brian replies: Luke: As you know I was in the mainstream music business and had many groups and artists appearing in videos and some even in movies so I know about call times, crew, production costs and rentals etc...Just because this was a porno and I'm not in porn doesn't mean I don't know what's at stake when a person doesn't make call time on a set. I can understand Jeff defending his wife so much, it's the same thing I would do if my livelihood rested on my wife f---ing on camera. If Krista doesn't work Jeff don't eat...I can surely relate to that, porn business or not.

Hey Jeff, maybe if you and Krista are so family oriented then their mommy shouldn't be going out to f--- for money!!!

Jeff writes: hey brian, the music business and the porn business are two entirely different things when it comes to how men look at women in this business and treat them when they are talent. just look at your comments and the company you wish to defend. do you know mr karch? have you been on one of his sets? what happens when a video producer in the music business runs late shooting another band? do they give a courtesy call to say hey we're running late? does the band or their manager find another video producer to shoot it? if they are the best in the business maybe they can get away with a little more but i doubt a so so director, producer can get away with threatening and bashing one's character when he is at fault. as far as my eating i think we'll survive just fine without mr. karch's little check.

i'm glad you're so up on my finances and stability and as for being family oriented, do you know me? do you have a family? doesn't sound like it and if you don't doesn't sound like you ever will or will keep the one you have. you sound like a respectable man who know's how to treat women, and prove that you, in the music business (if you still are) have no business mixing the two. porn stars are people too and some more respectable than others. really though even if they were all the same do you have the right to treat women like a piece of meat especially when they have enough sense to make money at what your mom apparently has done for free all these years. you seem like a man who has some deep emotional scars from not getting a special toy for xmas because she was too stupid to charge when your daddy and the rest took turns that night. you know what though to each his own and everyone is entitled to their own opinions. i once heard opinions are like assholes, everyone's got one. then again some are one.

She's been advertised on LA Exotics and other places. To get your photo off of Nici's site is a real ordeal. I called her and tried to get her to take pictures down. Not because I am trying to be exclusive with the girls. Let's face it, the girls are going to work for whoever makes them money. And they should be able to work for everyone. She does have a lot of girls on her site that don't even know her.

"I put a couple of pictures up on my site, of a girlfriend of a girlfriend who said, 'yeah, my girlfriend will work.' So then I put her picture up on my site and then I called her and she said, 'No, don't put my picture up.' So I immediately took it down and I quit doing that. Stacey: "She's a 22-year old girl. She worked for an escort agency in California. The girl went out of business. And Nici ended up with her little black book. And opened up her own business. So that's why she became so instantly successful. She has a beautiful site and she works with many beautiful girls. But if you work with a girl that she represents, she comes out to attack you. Because of this there are jurisdictional difficulties for a local police department to deal with the agency which is hard to trace to a physical location. Obviously you will be dealing with a website, an e-mail address, a rerouted phone number or a cell phone that can be traced to a mail drop. If this were the Unibomber they might go through the effort to track them down, but to most Law enforcement agencies, it isn't worth their time and effort. Second, you are paying for the ladies time, so none of the typical dialogue or interchange that allows vice cops to bust someone takes place. There is no offer of money for a sexual act or acceptance. Whatever takes place between the lady and the client . . . (I forget the rest of the disclaimer). Internet Porn Earnings For December

Hey Luke, you asked about net porn earnings. For me, it's down this December over last, on a per-click basis. I think that's typical, but how much depends on the quality of the traffic. The s---tiest traffic (like forced redirects off deactivated tgp pages) might earn 25% of last year's per-click payout, while better traffic (search engines (SE), type-ins) might earn 75% of last year's payout. (The payouts themselves were already widely different). Can't give you exact figures, because there are too many variables, but that's the general trend I see.

When Brad Shaw said the other day that people who were making $10k a month are now making $3k a month, they're probably using TGP and free gallery traffic. Selling a $40/month subscription to someone who knows how to scrounge for free porn is tough. That's why SE traffic is better - someone typing "nasty sex pics" in Lycos is green, and doesn't know where to find the free stuff, so they're more apt to pay. Of course even the search engine crowd is seeing more variability, as search engines are changing their business models every month. Many are selling ads or listings based on specific search terms. In the push for profitability, many of the big search portals are more openly embracing adult sites, taking their money and buying and selling traffic. Yahoo recently set a minimum $200 application fee to review commercial sites, but $600 for all adult sites - they know adult has more money. AOL and Yahoo have made substantial changes in search engine rankings lately, which has stirred things up, generally to the detriment of the professional SE "scammers." (Those who feed misleading 'cloaked' pages to the search engines, but feed different pages to the surfers).

Yahoo relies primarily on their directory listings, which are impervious to that particular style of scam, but they switched over to Google as a fallback when a search term isn't in Yahoo's directory, and Google has a caching feature that lets people see the page as Google originally stored it, rather than what's on the site at the moment, which gives away the cloaker's secrets (what meta tags to use, etc.)

Rick must've received a verbal chewing out from Andy Edmond who owes Muenyong tens of thousands of dollars. Andy Edmond - Grinch or CEO?

I hear that Andy Edmond, CEO of Flying Crocodile Inc (FCI), has missed his payment to Rick Muenyong (founder of YNOT), due to Rick on the 15th of every month. It's a high five figure sum. The missed payment, coming on top of layoffs over the past few weeks to about half of his employees, causes speculation about the financial health of Flying Crocodile Inc, the parent company of YNOTmasters.com.

I'm curious about the stipulations in Andy Edmond's contracts should he default on certain payments. I hear there's juicy stuff to uncover if I can get deep.

JT Edmond from FCI writes: "Luke, In the wake of FCI's recent restructuring, this isolated payment has been temporarily affected. Rick's payment this month will be 14 days later than our normal 'on-time' history. Mr. Muenyong was notified last week by company CFO, Jm Finnell."

Rick Muenyong writes Luke: I'm extremely worried about the future of FCI and it's companies. This new guy, Jim Finnel, contacted me last Thursday stating a mixup in funds, and that I would have the money in my account the following day. Fine, I'm worried, but I'll give the new guy a chance. Next day, no money and the new Jim is no where to be found. Evidently FCI took the day off on Friday to have an Xmas party!

Come Monday, I left a few messages on Jim's line on Monday. No callback all day. I called Andy Edmond on his cell .. his words 'everything is going great, FCI is experiencing growth and re-structuring mode'. This would be the only time I get a hold of Edmond, even after 3 messages left. I made a deal with Mr Intern, to call me every single day at 10am starting Tuesday until the money gets wired into my account. He's already broken one promise, making him 0 for 1. Since that understanding, I have not heard from him once. That was almost one week ago. The only individual who ever returned my messages was Greg Geelan (my former attorney, now YNOT pres) from YNOT. Possibly the only person from FCI/YNOT who even cares I get paid.

Up to date, YNOT has done very well paying me on time. This is the first payment where FCI has been in charge (for whatever reason) of it, and look what happens. You can brief Greg or JT if you want to know why YNOT didn't handle my payment this time 'round. It's been just 11 months (out of 60) and FCI is already defaulting on their payments. Myself and Ranks.com (current venture) obviously rely on this money to stay in business. This is why I was somewhat forced to throw a funding campaign together for Ranks.com.. the initial plan was to obviously fund it ourself.

As someone who is extremely passive, I'm extremely PO'ed with the treatment from Intern Finnel and CEO Grinch. You can put this one under your never-ending stack of "Negative FCI PR" file. I'd love to speak with JT on this..... because it sucks getting my FCI updates on your site Luke. Maybe you should be my FCI contact person....

Duke University Paper Disses Luke's Book
