What's Up With Gene Ross?
GeneRossExtreme.com has gone soft the past ten days (eversince the Hairmaster email). There have been no more startling revelations about corruption and deception, particularly at AVN. Numerous people speculate that AVN lawyers have silenced him.
Gene denies this. He says that he's simply moving on to other topics and he will return to AVN when he feels like it. Gene's a mismatcher - he likes to go against the flow.
While I wear my heart on the sleeve, Gene plays his cards close to the vest. But he's struck people over the past ten days as sad and bitter. Something's happened to Gene (aside from the stomach flu) and I don't know what it is.
My sources suspect that something's happened to Gene over the past ten days to shut him up. Why did he all of a sudden get silent?
If you examine legal cases, you'll often come to the conclusion that guilt and innocence can be bought.
XXX says: The only thing that Paul Fishbein is guilty of is not regarding his friendship with Gene. I don't think that anything else Paul has done means that he is not qualified to be where he is. Whatever Paul Fishbein does outside of his marriage is none of my business.

I think ideas like the one South expressed are fairly typical and pretty much a cop-out, an excuse. Let's face it, both men and women like to look at sexually explicit material, men have no particular corner on that market. Kris Kramski's Porno Documentary
XXX says: Sin City hated that movie. They gave him a lot of money to do that and they had no idea what they were getting. James DiGiorgio made Shooting Sex (also about the shooting of a porn film) before Kramski. David Sturman probably thought that Kramski was going to follow in DiGiorgio's footsteps and make a mock documentary and include a bunch of sex. Instead, Kramski made a real documentary on David's $70,000. As opposed to the $18,000 they spent on Shooting Sex.
Just to show how smart they are at Sin City, they hated Shooting Sex. And then it got nominated for Best Sex Comedy by AVN despite of them. In fact, in spite of them not even submitting it. Then they hated Kramski's documentary. They hated it so much they didn't put it out for two years. The more they sat on it, the more they realized that we've got this thing that we spent all this money on. We might as well put it out and recoup some of our expenditures which is unrecuperable.
Kramski thought he was going to get a big deal out of HBO for it. It never happened. Because it ain't good enough. Mainstream guys want a non-porno hook to do a documentary on porno. You can't just make a general purpose pornography documentary. Just like Rolling Stone doing a profile on SearchExtreme.com's founder Adam Grayson. Rolling Stone simply wanted a porno story in their college issue. Grayson fit the bill.
You can't do another documentary on HIV. It's been done to death. So have generic porno documentaries.

She is not the hard hitting, no questions barred reporter, but actually in real life, just another porn star.
A revealing interview with Max Hardcore gives us insight into his real opinion on women. He says "All girls are whores, whether they realize it or not. The problem is that when the girl is a whore, who doesn't think she's a whore, that's when she gets f---ed up in the head. I'm here to straighten them out." We also learn that the most famous male porn performer, Ron Jeremy, is really just a nice, humble guy with a good job. He puts it all in perspective when he says "I'm just a prop. The girls are the stars. The girls are who you want to see. The girls make the money."
The movie was good and definitely worth watching. Just shut it off after the Ron Jeremy scene. That is when it should have ended. For the last 10 boring minutes of the film the director has himself interviewed and assaults us with his opinions on HIV, aids, religion and facial shots. Kris, you did a great job writing and directing 98% of the movie, why you had to stoke your ego by a self grandiose Q & A for the last few minutes and ruin it, I don't know.
