Minister's Brother Appeared In Porn Films
LONDON, May 22 (Reuters) - Tim Blackstone, 54-year-old brother of Baroness Blackstone, Labour's education minister and champion of family values, admitted to the High Court on Monday that he had a pornographic film past.
Blackstone was giving evidence in a libel action in which he is suing for damages over a Sunday Mirror article alleging he was arrested after a screaming row with his wife. He claims the allegations damaged his reputation.
Asked if he had starred in films called ``Emannuelle in Soho,'' ``I am Not Feeling Myself Tonight'' and ``Under the Bed Tonight'' he said he could not remember the titles.
Court Overturns Cable Sex Rules
WASHINGTON (AP) - Congress violated free-speech rights when it sought to protect children from sex-oriented cable channels like Playboy Television, the Supreme Court ruled today. The 5-4 decision said Congress went too far when it required cable TV systems to restrict sex-oriented networks to overnight hours if they do not fully scramble their signal for nonsubscribers.
Luke: Talkshow host Dennis Prager believes that adults have the right to consume pornography but he believes that children should be protected from porn. Prager disagreed with the decision, just as he disagreed with the Supreme Court decision last month which upheld Erie, Michigan's right to ban nude dancing.
A caller challenged Dennis over why he was more concerned about children seeing sex than violence. Dennis countered with this analogy - if an uncle comes over to your house, loses his temper and slaps your child, this is much less damaging than if your uncle fondles your child. Children are more capable of dealing with most of TV's violent images than they are with sexual ones.
A female caller pointed out that children are sexually innocent while they are more experienced with violence. On the playground they have seen or experienced fights but they have not experienced sex. Prager strongly believes in protecting the innocence of children.
Christy Canyon and the Vivid Girls

In line with Luke's extensive reporting on the diminishing returns of pornerdom, "Dead Porn Stars" and the decline of many players amid dim future prospects, I HAD to report my going to see Christy Canyon Friday May 19 in New Haven. Christy has gone in and out of porn often, mainly @ VIVID. Her checkered past seems to have caught up with her BIG TIME.. She looked dreadful, pained, ill, wrinkled, emaciated. She dyed her hair a bizarre red-brown. Her legendary "Who Needs Implants" equipment shriveled and dried up. She looked so unlike the last time I saw her 2 ½ years ago that I briefly wondered if it was the same person, but the remains of her face and her patented very indifferent unskilled style of dancing gave her away. .While I have absolutely no facts or basis to justify saying so, her look and presence gave an experienced observer of such doings a loud wail "It's Got to be Drugs."
That tableau suggests a sad end to a sad story that seems both inevitable and avoidable. Christy has to rank as one of the all time great disappointments and lost opportunities. Oddly, Christy still drew a big crowd in New Haven. The legendary BAD ATTITUDE turned off many industry players who spoke ill of her to me. Bill Margold called her "passe"; Nina Hartley called her "a bitch."
Mainly I went to see her to ask if she had any news of Tori Welles. Christy used to operate Tori's fan club and assist with her Web Site [now seemingly defunct.] By contrast, Tori had always proved as great a friend, source and human being as Christy proved the reverse. Three years ago, though, Tori seemed to start a massive tailspin, calling herself to me "a very dysfunctional person." At CES in 1999 VIVID brass icily wrote her off as having "massive personal problems" and in the same breath oozed "but now we have Taylor Hayes".
Luke's recent reports of Taylor's alcohol problems and bad dance gigs underscored the vapid "Nothing Upstairs" image she made on me; and confirms that VIVID and its ilk have gotten exponentially faster at using up and spitting out "talent." Jeanna Fine, Tori's other great porn gal friend, gave me some info at 1999 CES and connected us, sort of. Tori missed the gig, sick in San Diego County after a car accident. Steve Chase of Lee Network and countless house dancers had told me of Big Problems for Tori at dance gigs. Tori then said that she had reluctantly given up dancing and worked every so often as a cocktail waitress. XXX wrote Luke a few months back of Tori appearing at a porn event in early 2000 but looking dreadful; another source wrote Luke that Tori sometimes PAed on VIVID shoots. Last I saw her Tori looked stressed and a bit bedraggled, but yet quite attractive if extra dykey; but nowhere near as wasted and thrashed as Christy Canyon on Friday.
Sadly, I guessed that the fans that stayed would make a fairly long post show fan line; and with the very bad energy THE THING that used to be Christy Canyon gave out, I expected I might wait rather long to get lousy quality or no information about Tori, so I left when the crowd started to dwindle. Maybe Jeanna Fine, whom I wanted to see in Tampa but could not go [plus her Web Site still does not even work yet] or someone else might write Luke or me with news of Tori Welles.

Mad Jack: "He'd pulled her site. She's just an idiot. She was threatening him with this and that and he wasn't going to put up with that. That's understandable. "So once again, I go like an idiot and Fed Ex the f---ing scenes and the model releases and I never get a check. I call and call. Finally, Michelle, his secretary, says 'We decided we didn't want them.' That's bulls--- because I was banking on a check from them. That's out of line. That's not a good way to do business.
"So he's just been f---ing everybody around. I also heard that he's been f---ing losing money hand over fist on those sites and he was gonna do something else.
"To make a long story short, after two weeks of waiting on this money, I made up my mind that as soon as I got the scenes back, I was going to tell him to pull my sites. So I called up. He's out of town until the end of the month. And his wife is nowhere to be found because this is just the way these people are. They just won't speak to you direct. So I told the secretary, pull my site and pull Senecca's site down. Any of the content that I sent you and is on my site is my content. And he doesn't have model releases for any of the pictures that I sent him. So I said that I want all of that pulled off.

I paid to have them transferred because I shot them on my digital 8mm camera. And he has to have them on mini DV. It was $110 to get those two scenes transferred. The same thing happened two months ago and that was supposed to be some big confusion thing. His brother didn't know they were coming and this and that. It was all bulls--- stories then too.
"I was surprised when he said a few weeks ago to send them again. I was giving him a good price too. A $1000 less than I would normal charge. And then for them to sit on them for two weeks... I am not going to accuse them of copying the scenes but that would be so easy of them to do.
"They always seem to handle things childishly. I'm just waiting for them to trash me online. I don't give a f---. He's obviously a bad businessman. The only reason he holds any clout is that he buys pieces from all these companies. He does move a lot of product. But when it comes to the production end of the business, he's just a dirtbag liar and he's lied to everybody."
Luke: "Have they returned your scenes?"
Mad Jack: "Yes, they came back with the model releases. I don't think he has model releases for 90% of the stuff he has on his site. So if they don't care about that, that's cool. The feds will have a field day.
"I sent him over 300 images and I just want them down. I was mislead by Bo. I was told that I would get 50% of everything sold on that site. I know he's going to come back by saying that nothing sold and I had hardly any members. To me, it is not worth arguing about.
"I'm bringing Dave Hardman out for my Sadie Sexton movie."
Luke: "Are you concerned that he might stalk you or call the cops on you?"
Jack laughs. "Stalk me? He'll be staying at my house. He's a kick. He's always fun.

Effects of Pornography

Here's a paper on that subject by a Canadian scholar who says there are no significant negative secondary effects to watching porn. His paper was delivered as part of a Supreme Court of Canada case which has yet to be decided. Little Sister's caters to a primarily gay and lesbian clientele, and decided to sue the federal government (with the stars of the show being Canada Customs and the Department of Justice) for what Little Sister's viewed as unjust, discriminatory and homophobically-motivated treatment at Canada Customs when material of special interest to gays was imported into Canada.
Dr. Malamuth had been hired by the federal Department of Justice to write an opinion as to whether the sexual material distributed by Little Sister's was likely to engender social harm, particularly in the form of fostering violent behaviour in those who consumed it. He affirmed that it did, and cited a decade worth of laboratory research, to which he had been a major contributor, to justify his assertion. I offered to write an opinion on Malamuth's opinion, and it is that paper that is contained here.
