Sacramento Update

An uneventfull day today with the porners at the state legislature.

Because such investigations often involve activity originating in Europe, he also has access to certain investigations being conducted in Europe. Interpol has notified Hungarian authorities that they believe this brothel is controlled by members of the Russian Mafia. Interpol has confirmed that the blonde with the long hair was sold to a brothel owner after being lured to Hungary in April 1999 along with 3 other women from Ukraine. They were promised jobs at a hotel in Budapest. Efforts are being made to contact the makers/actors of this film to confirm the location of this brothel. It is also believed that the thin brunette being double teamed from the front and rear in the final scene was also a prostitute at this small town brothel. There is no evidence to suggest she was sold into sexual servitude like the blonde in the previous scene. Sacramento Update

Mike Ross's house, 6PM: I just went swimming with Mike. I spent the day talking to my former teachers at Placer High School and Sierra College, including my high school journalism teacher Robert Burge. He must be so proud.

Turn Ons in Porn

By this I don't mean the actual physical acts, or the body types I like best, but the emotional essence I want to see in a scene. Patrick Riley has obviously done the same thing and come to different conclusions that he explores in a different thread.

What really turns me on in a porn tape is a woman doing something transgressive. In other words, I want to see women doing things that are not accepted by society. I want to see her acting as a "bad girl," and I want to see her acting in ways that women generally don't act except in men's fantasies. I want to see her enjoying what she is doing, at least partly because to me that is even more transgressive and because it accords with the fantasy. So, what does this mean?

#1 I never, ever, want to watch a woman paired with her real life boyfriend or husband. Why? Well, I already know that women will sleep with their mates. Big f---ing Deal. When I see someone on the street, I don't fantasize "Boy, I bet she f---s her husband something fierce!" I think about f---ing her myself or imagine her as a slut who f---s around, by implication meaning I would have a chance.

#2 I do want to see the women performing with men that I know are *not* their boyfriends. This is one reason why I like series like Up'n'Cummers and Dirty Debs. I also like these series because they present the fantasy of a man with an unending series of willing women.

#3 Once I see the women paired with men who are not their mates, I want to see them treating those men as if they were that man's girlfriend. In other words I want to see intimacy that I know is not founded on the normal precursors to intimacy. I want to see the woman kissing the man and fully giving herself to him in a way that she would normally reserve. I want to see the fantasy that this woman drops the normal barriers to intimacy. #4 I do not want to see condoms. Condoms undercut two of the themes I explored above. So, how does this mean that I am different from what Patrick Riley wants? Patrick wants to be a voyeur on a woman's real sex life. As a result, he wants to see the women with their mates. Over time, Patrick has learned that interviews with with porn starlets always reveal that we are not privy to their real, private, sex life. As a result he wants no part of them. On the other hand, I want to see women acting outside of their normal lives. I love the intereviews because they show the contrast between the girls' real lives and what they are doing in the tape. So, there you have it. I know what I like, and I know it is different from what some other people like.

Luke: Most men would like to meet porn stars. Thus most politicians and their assistants like to meet porn stars. But they have no interest in the political views and concerns of porn stars. I'm sure a fair number of porn stars have had sex with politicians but I don't know if sex has been exchanged for specific votes.

By the way, last week the Jews of Time Warner went to war with the Jews of Disney. The issue was money (these are jews, after all). The weapons of choice were lawyers and publicists. No blood was spilled. For whom did you root?

Proud Member of the FSC

Greg Zeboray writes: I must respectively disagree with South and Brandy on the FSC [Free Speech Coalition, porn's trade group] matter - I believe they are a very good thing for the industry. By contributing to the efforts to keep the rights to produce porn legal, they are helping everyone, from the talent to producers to distributors to book stores.

If there is one thing I disagree with the FSC on, it's their representation of themselves as a "trade association" in the broad sense. Having read their charter, my take is that they were created for the purpose of first amendment issues related to porn, and I feel they will be most effective if they concentrate on that. Now, they have an excellent sister organization - Protecting Adult Welfare - who's job it is to look after the talent, and we should all contribute to PAW so they can better achieve their objectives.

In regards to Bill Lyon, I think the FSC may have a real gem there. I have had a lengthy conversation with him regarding where he wants to take the association, and provided the board works with him, it will be great for all of you in the adult industry. I was not given the authority to disclose his plans, but hopefully he himself will soon! He did indicate his full agreement with me that everything discussed (on the record) in board meetings should be immediately disclosed to all members - it is our money they operate with.

Let me close by telling everyone that I remain a proud member of the FSC, and think everyone involved with the industry should be as well. I left the FSC for commercial reasons. It was not because I didn't support them. NO organization can please everyone 100%, but as Gloria Leonard says "at least they are doing something". That's more then I can say, and I suspect more then most all of you can say as well.

Sheens Reflect on Film Rated-X
