I will be posting about this throughout the whole trial. Generally I will put up a post each day if there is action in the court room. I will keep adding to the one post all day as things happen. Then the next day I will put up a new post. Feel free to add your comments. As I am obviously not at the trial, and have many people sending me info, so this will be full of opinions and there may even be conflicting info.
5 pm Washington DC time Post Op/Ed-
The Jury has been seated. The Trial started this morning.
Opening statements were given by Bonnie Hannan, the prosecutor. Hannan suggested that these films’ trailers were available to those under 18 years old. She described the films in question and said the jury’s job was to decide whether these films/trailers violate community standards.
Stagliano’s legal team is a powerhouse of Freedom fighters including Paul Cambria, Allan Gelbard, & Louis Sirkin. They began to layout their case.
Aurora Snow says on Twitter "Amazing opening statements by the defense, the prosecutors opening were far less impressive. Wonder if this sets the pace?"
Journalist Richard Abowitz says on Twitter "As I expected the prosecution chose to snow the mostly minority jury the moment in the film where a white actress repeatedly uses N. word." "The hope is that if the film is seen as racist then the largely minority jury will decide it is pornographic and convict stagliano#"
NL- Do you see a pattern emerging already? The Prosecution tells the jury that children can see the films, shows only the racially charged scene to the minority jury. This case isn’t going to be about obscenity, it’s going to be about making the jury sympathetic to the prosecution’s side and making Stagliano out as EVIL.
