Last night was the XBiz awards show and from what I hear it was a good time. A lot of my friends were there but I wasn’t, I’m in Spain working on a project, which I would trade any day over
sitting in a big room filled with way too many bimbos and cheesy guys pretending to be ballers.
I want to just throw this out there: How fucked up is that these awards have become a fucking disgrace? One of the girls nominated for web starlet hasn’t shot a scene of any kind in a over year and is retired!
On a personal note, I never expected to win. As you know I don’t play politics and say shit that gets me on the shit list of those who want everyone to be Politically Correct about everything and
not to rock the boat. Well I say fuck that! I’ll rock the fucking boat if I wish…I’ve earned my seat on the boat!
The category I was nominated for was best Porn Star Website. in my category 15 of the 20 nominees don’t even own their sites. They don’t run them or have anything to do with them other than getting
a little % check every month and shooting content when their webmaster tells them to. And of those 15 there are 2 or 3 who don’t even get a % check at all!! They have nothing to do with
their sites whatsoever! Ask Amy Reid about her site and how much she gets paid. When I asked her she laughed and said she never even talked to Atlas Media when they put her "Official Site" online. What a joke!
I wonder what the winner uses to make her FHG’s? Does she make them by hand like I do or does she have a template or a variety of templates? Or if she uses an auto submitter like Chameleon? I wonder which TGP’s she submits to regularly?
To me the winners are the 5 girls in this category who actually run our sites and take pride in them and deal directly with our members. Girls like Kelly Divine who busts her big ass to make her
site quality and keep it updated and same goes to Nikki Benz and Sophie Dee and Belladonna. They are the winners for keeping it real and representing themselves.
As far as the rest of the awards go to me it looks like a list of the top advertisers all the way down the list. Isn’t that a strange coincidence? I am less than surprised but I have to say that XBiz was the one that I hoped would do things the right way and they didn’t, they did it the same old way everyone has been doing on both sides of the hill. (reference to hollywood vs. the valley)
Am I bitter, not really. Do I think its fucked that myself or one of the other 4 didn’t win? You bet! Look at Belladonna’s site…it’s the most unique site I’ve ever seen. I don’t understand it and it confuses me but it’s all her. She made it that way. It’s how SHE sees it and to me that’s awesome!

Good work Mariah — this is exactly what I and a few others said in regards to the AVNs (which are just as shady, illogical and useless). Only those with some personal or financial agenda actually care about these awards.

Again, its an utter joke that this and other ‘porn industry awards’ have 1) endless nominees in each category 2) endless number of categories 3) see one and two.

I think it’s obvious to everyone that Mariah’s sites are clearly superior in any imaginable way to all other sites that had been nominated for this “prestigious” award. So yeah, obviously it’s all politics. But it’s equally clear that if Mariah would have been amongst the winners, we would never have been reading about “bimbos and cheesy guys pretending to be ballers” on this blog.
It’s kinda sad that even such a successful and hot porn chick as Mariah is still so insecure deep inside that she still craves validation from the so-called “industry critics”(a group that, in my opinion, has caused more harm to the industry than tube sites and Lubbenites combined).

and honestly I don’t attend these award things because I am not part of the porn scene. I haven’t been to a porn party since I was 19 and I probably won’t be going to any. I get irritated by a lot of the porn girls who take themselves far too seriously.
And newklear I beg to differ…If I were to have won I would be saying the same thing. I certainly do not need validation from the critics because I could care less. I know my paycheck won’t change one way or another. I don’t think my site was the best, but I do think myself and the 4 other girls who actually take part in their sites should have some extra consideration over the ones that don’t. Ask anyone if I play the game with the guys and girls in the business and they’ll all laugh and tell you “fuck no!”
I mean James Dean as best male performer? Are you kidding???? I did a scene with him and it was ok but the guy is in love with himself and has absolutely NO REASON to be! There is nothing special about his talents I promise. Tori Black, ok she’s deserving to win as were a few of the other girls nominated but that’s an easy category to judge because you can’t lose with that one.
But my main gripe was the fact that the winners in my opinion, are not chosen based on anything more than honoring the advertisers or the ones who you wish to be advertisers.

Are you sure James Deen is in love with himself, Mariah, or is he just non-chalant and detached? Is it because he didn’t spew enough fawning praise and attention (or at least dirt-bag lust) all over you?
I think everyone who does porn should get an award. Why not? You do it on camera for the world, captured for all eternity . No residuals. No medical healthcare. No retirement benefits. Where’s my award dammit? I’m angry! I’m so unsung I don’t even get nominated for “unswung swordsman” 😛
Jeremiah I have no personal beef with James, I just don’t think that he is even close to the best male talent in the business on several levels, looks, dick, performance, and charisma to name a few.
Johnny Sinns is far better in every one of those categories than James Dean IMO. As is Rocco Reed and Derek Pierce but I know the tats and nipple piercings get in the way for some viewers. Remember, I’ve worked with these guys some more than enough times to say and I hear honesty from the other girls, not sound bites.
I expected more “you’re bitter you didn’t win” comments and so far only got a few so no, I’m not disappointed. 🙂
It’s weird. They didn’t even pretend to phone it in this year. It was like they went out of their way this year to reward their advertisers, which I’m seriously okay with. But you know I would have been much happier if they would have just called it the we love our sponsors party and here is a special token of our appreciation for giving us money all year. At least then it wouldn’t have been such a sham and so many people wouldn’t have been so seriously offended.
There’s no reason to ‘pretend’ Kelli — as everyone with half a brain KNOWS that each and every award in Porn Valley is already brought and paid for long before they’re allegedly given to the ‘winners’!
