Awards have one benefit and one benefit only: increased exposure. It’s the same with any entertainment award – Oscar, Palme d’Or, Grammy, American Kennel Club Best of Show, you name it. You get one and you get to talk about yourself nonstop for two weeks. The added bonus is a usual spike in sales. Then it’s back in the line.

Come’on Mr. Horse! Once Cytherea had her ‘vaunted trophy’ in her tiny hands, it would have been beneath her to do ‘bottom feeder’ porn work!!!

Why else for all of the perennial controversies? Who got what nomination over some other pretty, hot-to-trot snatch? You think the AVNs are for shits and giggles? These awards are deadly fucking important and have been shown to increase the amount of work and pay that the average porn girl can command

(granted, the only evidence of this is in the nominee’s dreams…but hey, who am I burst anyone’s bubble?!).

Same goes for the idea of an AVN Award Winning porn girl leaving the business in the wake of her hard work/hard won accolade from the industry’s most un-biased, 120% objective, down-the-middle editorially upstanding in every way shape and form trade publication! They don’t even know how to spell the word ‘corrupt’, ‘sham’, or ‘bribery’ at the upstanding magazine that has reported on the business of porn for over three decades.

Hell, I’m surprised Cytherea didn’t get a lucrative acting/producing/directing contract after her big win. Didn’t the industry see future genius in its midst!? It must have, or why else give her the ‘Best New Starlet’ award????!!!!
