Porn Worker Discriminated Against?

When asked to be taken off parole He was told he wouldn’t be, because he WORKS IN PORN!

Red Redemption, who does IT for an adult web company says “I’m being kept on parole for working in the porn industry. That’s discrimination! The offense I committed was criminal threats, for telling someone I was going to beat there ass. ”

Red sent me this poster-

  1. Rule 44 – “The internet is not your personal army.”

I found it slightly amusing (but not surprising) that this man was convicted for criminal threats and feels the best course of action is to make a (really bad) flyer asking strangers to make harassing phone calls on his behalf.

A message to him: We all have problems, and yours are no worse than any of ours. Have you ever thought that maybe you should have just, you know, not committed a crime in the first place? In the real world, it helps to behave and take responsibility during those brief lapses of judgement when failing to do so.

  2. The fact of the matter is, porn is infact art, art is protected under the first amendment, some people call it freedom of speech or freedom of expression. Another fact is how can someone be found unsuitable because they work in porn if porn is protected – RED.

  3. AIPChristina says:

While agree that he is going about this all wrong, he does have a point. If he has been doing everything else right and is only being kept on because he is working IT for a porn company then that is wrong. Obviously we only have his side of the story but if what he is saying is accurate then this is messed up.

  4. Please do me a favor call them, and give your thoughts or feelings, do not harass under any means.

  5. “The fact of the matter is, porn is infact art.”

    That’s funny.

But anyways, porn is legal, so this isn’t right. But calling the specific parole agent is just going to make him pissed at you. Better to post the agent’s supervisor’s number.

  6. While admittedly I don’t know any parole officers, I have an inkling that posting their contact details all over the internet (on porn sites, no less) with the intention of having scores of random people pestering them is perhaps NOT the best method of garnering their sympathy. Just an inkling.

Please keep us updated, in detail, about how spectacularly this backfires on you.

  8. Since our keyboard crusader Red fancies himself an expert on how the world works according to him, let’s see what we have here:

“Art” (Noun): 1. skill acquired by experience, study, or observation. 2. An occupation requiring knowledge or skill. 3. The conscious use of skill and creative imagination especially in the production of aesthetic objects.

..So how does pornography fit into your definition of Art, Mr Red? It’s not an occupation that requires skill – people have been screwing and sleeping around since people have been alive, we wouldn’t be here otherwise. It doesn’t require knowledge because it’s inherited with our DNA and evolution that goes back at least a couple million years. And sorry to say: Porn isn’t producing anything of aesthetic value, not by a long shot..You missed that boat when the golden age of porn was 40 years ago and wasn’t being overrun by pretentious morons like you.

And – I know I’m wasting my time with this – But you might want to take a course at your local community college to refresh yourself with the definition of “Discrimination” and ask yourself how your situation as a criminal inciting retribution against people who are just doing their job even remotely compares to the civil rights movement of the 1960’s. There’s more to this story that you aren’t telling us, and you’re doing nothing more then trying to use people to your advantage. It goes without saying that you aren’t somebody who learned their lesson about making threats and harassing people, if you had then we wouldn’t be having this conversation.

When you’re ready to be up front and stop using us as means to an end, we can have a normal conversation like a couple of adults. But I can tell one thing is for certain: Going around tattling on the internet about how your parole officer is a big oppressive meanie who violates your civil rights will not end in your favor. Not that it matters now, but a better plan of action would have been to climb the chain of command at the parole office and talk to his supervisor, and their supervisor, and make an appearance at their office to plead your case. You could have showed them that you’re turning your life around and the good things that you’ve done so far – if there are any that you can document.

Instead..You decided to develop an unhealthy sense of entitlement, sit on your couch, whip up a 5-minute flyer that looks like a 3rd grader designed, and e-beg strangers on the internet to do something for you. I have no idea who you are, what’s in it for me to make phone calls and defend a criminal? I’ve been subjected to death threats in the past and to be honest, you remind me of every other lowlife out there who makes empty threats.

  9. In the process of feeling out habius corpus as they are denying the appeal.

  10. Paperchase says:

You realize don’t you that there is no such thing as “feeling out habius corpus”.

All you are doing by asking strangers to call your PO, is giving him more ammunition to claim that you are being uncooperative with the terms the court told you to follow.

Try to remedy your solution though the courts if you desire. Hire a lawyer if you can afford one, but crowd sourcing your argument with your PO is an almost unbelievably stupid thing to do.

The forms right there, whit of habius corupus form.
In response to no such thing…
For people that are supposed to be porn people you sure don’t seem bothered that someone elses first ammendement is being violated and it has to do with porn.

  12. Red, it’s not so much that we don’t have sympathy for you, it’s that we don’t like the way you’re going about this.

You need to exhaust all the remedies you have on your own, and detail what those are and what the results were, before enlisting other people to rally to your cause. Hustler Magazine v. Falwell this is not.

  13. Porn was art back in the 70s when they told stories, used scripts, and acted. Nowadays its not art. Its just 2 or more people fucking on a camera.

  14. Asking people on the internet to harass your parole officer is a really BAD idea. You work in IT. You should know how these things play out on the internet. “Not your personal army”, comes to mind. People are gonna call him looking for Battle Toads. Discrimination does happen. I know people that have been denied home loans, not been approved by home owners associations, kids were denied at private schools…etc Some companies pay employees through other companies to keep employees names “clean”. Sure, the problem exists, but your reaction is pretty stupid, and dangerous.
