Porn’s Most Powerful Players 2013 according to CNBC are  Fabian Thylmann (Manwin) ,  Larry Flynt (Hustler) , Derek Hay (LA Direct) , Ron Cadwell (CCBill), Steven Hirsch (Vivid) ,  Marc Randazza (attorney),  Frank Koretsky (IVD), Ron Braverman (Doc Johnson), Peter Acworth (kink.com)

and …drum roll please…Mike South!

CNBC says-South is the Nikki Finke of the porn industry. His blog, which is never short on opinion, is a must-read among industry insiders and his spy network is vast. His style is unique, but he is also a leading agent of change within the industry. South was the first to identify patient zero in last summer’s syphilis outbreak that shut down production. He also led the charge to shut down Porn Wikileaks, which published the real names and addresses of industry stars. These days, he has Manwin in his sights, regularly taking shots at the company. Like Manwin’s Thylmann, there are few fence-sitters when it comes to opinions about South, but no one ignores him.

    They spent about a month interviewing people in porn, including me (no I didnt name myself). I was a bit surprised to see my name on the list, I tend to stay under the radar in terms of my dealings with the guys on this list and the ones not on it. When I asked the guy that wrote it he said my name came up almost as much as Larry Flynts. I was surprised to say the least. One guy apparently made the remark that he didn’t know who the top 5 would be but he knew that 4 of them send Mike South Christmas cards….LOL
