NL- This sentencing should make Monica Foster happy. It’s too bad Dykstra wasn’t also forced to make good on her $1000 check…

Lenny Dykstra sentenced to three years in prison

Lenny Dykstra is put in handcuffs after his arraignment last June. (AP file)Lenny Dykstra’s life in prison will continue.
Once hailed as a financial whiz as recently as four years ago, the disgraced former Mets and Phillies star was sentenced to three years in a California prison on Monday afternoon on charges of grand theft auto and providing a false financial statement during the attempted leasing of three automobiles. Dykstra had originally been charged with 25 counts, but prosecutors dropped 21 of them when he agreed to plead no contest back in October.
Dykstra, however, maintains that he was only being prosecuted because of his celebrity. (The 49-year-old also tried to withdraw his plea after submitting it, but his request was denied.)
From the Associated Press:
In a rambling and impassioned plea for probation, Dykstra said he has tried to make amends for his past transgressions and said he would be cleared of any wrongdoing had his motion to withdraw his plea been granted.
"I’m doing everything in my power to be a better person," he said.
Dykstra, wearing a gray suit with a blue shirt, was immediately remanded to custody as he walked into the court’s back room, hands in his pockets. Dykstra has earned nearly a year’s worth of credit toward his sentence for time already served.
That he’s already logged some time in prison served is the good news.
So, too, is the fact that he was granted permission to travel to Florida for his teammate Gary Carter’s memorial service last month.
The bad news is that he’s still scheduled to stand trial on federal bankruptcy charges this summer because it seems that the government doesn’t really like it when you sell off your remaining assets — including your 1986 World Series ring — without the court’s permission.

Used to think he was a pretty bright guy as an ESPN analyst. I guess you never know.

  2. I’ve been smiling all day Cindi, this outcome was worth far more than 1K in my view – over it 🙂

  3. Michael Whiteacre says:

Yes, Cindi, if Monica had only been providing her time and company as a legal “escort,” why didn’t Monica sue him for that $1,000? Hmmmm….

Second, Monica should be kissing Dykstra’s ass. Without him she’d be completely unknown. Not one performer or fan at the Arizona Pornstar Ball this weekend had ever heard of Monica Foster; although a couple had a vague notion of the idiot “escort” who took a rubber check from Dykstra. After she began a non-stop campaign of idiotic and hateful tweets against me, we sat around laughing at her. And mocking her. It was a great time.

With Dystra in prison and out of public view, this means even less attention for the cross-eyed pariah with the bad overbite. LOL

Yeah, he gonna love that bankruptcy trial, that’ll be time outta the joint. Of course, wasn’t this in Cali? If so, the 3 year sentence might only net him 6-8 months w/ all the over crowding.

At least he won’t be homeless for a while.

  6. It took approximately a year for “Nails” to blow through millions. I like to meet the fool(s) who thought he was financial genius and loaned him all that money. It still cracks me up that Jim Crammer said that Nails was “one of the great ones in finance”.

  7. Lenny tried to beat the Wall Street thieves at their own game. Wall Street steals money without anyone every know exactly who it was, how it really happened, nor how to stop it from happening again.

Fortunately, Nailed is just another dumb jock who only got away with 99.9% of his obscene, inappropriate, and criminal activities.

If it was up to me, the Prosecuting Attorney in this case gets re-elected by a landslide!

  8. Jerkuliscious says:

Monica, I forgive you for calling me an evil satanic piece of shit. I know it was just the alcohol talking, and you don’t need to apologize. I feel that your statement, above, about giving a pass to those stricken with the disease of addiction is enough of a cry for absolution. I’ll even once again offer to help you learn the pleasure filled wonders of butt fucking. You know how to get in touch.

  9. jeremysteele11 says:

As the ump says, “You’re OUTTA here!”

  10. Larry Horse says:

I remember the HBO story for Real Sports that Bernie Goldberg did years ago about Lenny being a genius. Bernie apparently, and his staff, really did not look into how Nails was leveraged. But then when they did the story about how bad it was it was like they knew all along. Lenny was ripping folks off long before Monica. Why didnt she do a google search on him? It would have mentioned his legal and financial troubles. Any good “escort” should vet their clients.

  11. jeremysteele11 says:

It doesn’t matter, Mr. Horse. Nails may be a scumbag, but him paying Coco Loco for conversation must’ve made him feel as ripped off as she claims she was. I wonder how many people Moronica told him have stalked and threatened to kill her?

  12. Larry,

Exactly, he barely had any money when he retired.

  13. Jerkuliscious says:

From what I heard, he had a chain of car washes that was making him good money. He sold them to buy Gretzsky’s house and it was downhill from there.
