UPDATE read whole story at http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2027573/ … "Graphic, disturbing and ‘beyond pornographic’ images are believed to have been found on Gary Giordano’s camera of missing Maryland woman Robyn Gardner, calling into question the relationship between them, who were at first believed to simply be travelling companions." …
… "Giordano’s camera, as well as his laptop and cell phone, have been sent away for analysis." …
… "Solicitor general of Aruba Taco Stein – who called the 50-year-old a ‘mean b******’ – could not confirm the nature of the images to the Today Show but would only say it did not look like she was under any duress." …
UPDATE Two new bits of interesting info have come out!
1. Investigators, including experts from the FBI, are studying surveillance footage that purportedly shows Giordano behaving strangely on the day when Gardner was reported missing, repeatedly moving his car, appearing in footage wearing different toupees and popping up on camera at 6:02 p.m., shortly after he says Gardner went missing, according to ABC News.
2. Gary Giordano bought a travel insurance policy with a $1.5 million accidental death clause on Gardner, ABC News reports.
OP/ED NL- This story has been in the news for a couple weeks, but there are some dots that just haven’t been connected. Or maybe police are just keeping the info under wraps. Rumors abound that Giordano was a swinger, had various run-ins with violence against women, had a criminal record and was overall an asshole. He runs an employment agency in Maryland. He met Robyn online, they saw each other a couple times and then after Robyn lost her job, they went to Aruba together. She went missing while they were snorkeling, but Robyn’s brother says "She just wouldn’t want to ruin her makeup or get her hair wet." When Giordano "ran for help" because Robyn disappeared, police say his clothes were dry. Funny thing is that Robyn had a live in, long-term boyfriend. Am I crazy or does this so sound like she was working as an escort? Or maybe looking for a sugar daddy? I bet there is a sex connection in this story. Sadly, right now she is presumed dead but they have found no physical evidence. Also does she look familiar to you? She does to me…
Aruba Plans Search For Missing Tourist Robyn Gardner’s Remains
ORANJESTAD, Aruba — Aruban authorities announced plans Tuesday for an extensive search involving police, firefighters and possibly the military as investigators try to determine what happened to a missing American woman.
The search was expected to start later this week and would be centered around the southern part of the Dutch Caribbean island near where 35-year-old Robyn Gardner was reported missing by her travel companion, Solicitor General Taco Stein said.
"We are trying to put a substantial team together" to conduct the search, Stein told The Associated Press.
Police and firefighters searched an abandoned phosphate mine in the area but did not find any trace of Gardner.
The new search will involve many more people and will cover a larger area in the hunt for the woman’s body or any evidence linked to her, Stein said.
The woman was reported missing Aug. 2 by companion Gary Giordano, who said she was apparently pulled away by ocean currents while they were snorkeling. The pair had come to Aruba on July 31 for a short vacation.
Giordano, a 50-year-old business owner from Gaithersburg, Maryland, has been detained on suspicion of involvement in her death. His attorney has said he had nothing to do with her disappearance and has called for his release from jail.
