Stagliano on FOX tonight

Yesterday, John Stagliano, the owner of Evil Angel, taped a segment on the subject of the first amendment live in New York for John Stossel’s show Stossel for FOX Business network. The episode will air for the first time at 8pm on Thursday, May 20.

John Stagliano is currently being prosecuted by the federal government in an obscenity trial for the distribution of 2 porn movies and a 3rd trailer for a porn movie. He was indicted in April 2008 and the trial will begin in Washington DC on July 7, 2010. Stagliano faces up to 32 years in prison and millions in fines. For more information on John Stagliano’s trial and several other obscenity cases, go to defendourporn.org.

Also appearing on the show with Stagliano are Judge Andrew Napolitano and Ayaan Hirsi Ali, the author of Infidel. A synopsis of the May 20 episode from the FOX Business site: "Congress shall make no law…" begins the First Amendment. What a concept! Congress should pass NO law. How often do we hear that today? Not often enough. The first amendment goes on to say "Congress shall make no law … abridging the freedom of speech." What does that mean? That’s what our show is about. Does it mean you can burn the American flag? What about films that depict animal cruelty? Or "obscenity"?

Stossel talks to a porn producer facing 32 years in prison for producing fetish films like Milk Nymphos. While we in America may take freedom of speech for granted, it’s important to remember how unique this freedom is. In other countries, hundreds died in riots after a newspaper published cartoons depicting the prophet Mohammed. The Canadian government charged a journalist who published the cartoons with "discrimination." Most recently, Comedy Central censored a South Park episode that featured Mohammed … while leaving in a scene where Buddha snorts cocaine. A short clip of John Stossel appearing on Fox Business discussing the episode can be watched on the Fox Business website.

John Stossel is the New York Times best-selling author of Give Me A Break and Myths, Lies and Downright Stupidity. His "Give Me a Break" commentaries take a skeptical look at a wide array of issues, such as education, the economy, parenting, and more. His blog can be read here.
The episode of Stossel will air on the Fox Business Network on Thursday at 8pm & 12 midnight ET (5pm & 9pm PT), Saturday at 7 PM and 11 PM, and Sunday at 10 PM.

I’m sure Fix news will be “fair and balanced”.

It’s funny they put a copyright on that phrase. That means if any other corporate or public sponsored news media wants to claim it’s fair and balanced they can be sued.

Any cunt media corporation who has to toot their own horn as fair and balanced is full of shit, especially one with all those right wing shitholes who dominate interviews more than cocoa-puff face Morton Downey Jr, ever did. For God’s sakes, at least find some “independent” ass-licking, opportunistic journalists to make the claim for ya, on your behalf!

  2. Larry Horse says:

Good that Stagliano is on TV, bad that it is on Fox Business, one cause Stossel is an asshat and two cause no one will see it.

  3. Jerry,
Thats called a slogan, and everyone copyrights their slogans……Like Coke..”Its the real thing.’ or ABC news,”The most trusted newscast” or NBC..”Must Watch TV.”, or Pete Jennings,”Americas Most trusted journalist….yes he has that copyrighted.

And just to be “fair and balanced” CNN,ABC,NBC CNBC,CBS,AP and RUETERS,,are as far to the left as Fox is to the right, and I dont think even youre stupid enough to disagree with this FACT.(but I may be wrong about that)

And didnt staglianos lawyers try to get an interview John did allowed as evidence in the trial….The judge i beleive, laughed them out of court and said if he wants his words entered as evidenc then he can take the stand himself.(not likely despiete all his pulic posturing) No wonder stagliano has lose every motion…whatever he’s paying his lawyers is too much if that is the best they can do.

They say its all about freedom of speech and expression. So just for the hell of it ‘what exactly is someone like Stagliano trying to express with his ‘art’ (lol) I wonder if Stossel will ask that question?

    Poll””
1.Will Stagliano take the stand. I think NO(his lawyers cant be that inept)

    2. Will stagliano take a plea…i bet yes(his lawyers have to know that this is in his best inerest)

  4. or 3…Stagliano will beg for mercy becuse he and his wife are HIV positive and are expecting a baby. Then they will ask for a lesser sentence becuase of his illness.

I dont think he will take the stand becuase he just wont come across as a likeable guy, AND there will be that pesky oath to tell the truth, the WHOLE truth, and nothing but the truth. And we ALL know that is the last thing a pornographger wants to avoid at all cost. Of course this is Stag’s decision, but his lawyers must be shaking in their boots at the thought of putting him on the stand. The prosocutions cross exam will show that he is nothing but a scum porn producer who, even though HIV positive himself, still puts his own employees at risk and offers nothing in return for that risk.(yes, the prosocution has affidavits from former performers who got tested positive for stds afterw working for Stagliano)……….Notice AVN or Xbiz or anyone else ever mentions this..

expect them to dig deep for all the worst, prepare for it, and expect good ratings, even though it’s but a business segment

No one watches Fox Business, the best rated show on there is Imus and last I heard he had a third of Joe Scarborough’s audience. I watch some of Imus’ show every day waiting to see if he will keel over. The whole Stagliano thing is just a dog and pony show, waste of tax money. In the adult business there are far more important fish to fry and lot of them involve money, prostitution, etc.

In this interview Stagliano says the Feds should use the 2257 regulations to go after tube sites, while at the same time he supports the FSC’s attempts to get the 2257 regulations ruled unconstitutional. Seems like mr stagliano wants to “have it woth ways”(lol no pun intened) We all know he likes it both ways.

  9. jeremiahsteele says:

    Hey JoNo,

Perhaps he’s just saying “If they’re gonna go after someone they should go after THEM”, while simutaneously pushing the fact that 2257 is unconstitutional. I think the feds are just being abusive because it’s fun to them.

  10. The President says:

The feds are just trying to throw a bone to uptight losers like joe know with rare cases like these because this is the best it’s going to get for them. Doesn’t change a thing though.

  11. The Colonel says:

As I stated before, I support John Stagliano, because unlike Max Hardcore and Rob Black he did not take bad advantage of anybody and did not inflict physical and/or psychological pain on anybody under the pretence of making porn movies. He’s being prosecuted for two titles: In one of them, girls are fucking while dressed up as nuns, in another, girls do milk enemas on each other. He did not even produce these titles, his company Evil Angel only distributed them which were produced and directed by Belladonna and Jay Sin. The only reason the feds are going after Stagliano is because he’s one of the most influential and powerful pornographers, and they think by bleeding him dry they can send a message to pornographers everywhere:

‘Beware, the big brother is watching you.’

However, this is not going to change anything. Even if the court finds Stagliano guilty and sends him to prison, still there will be business as usual in the porn valley. In this line of work, it’s every man for himself, for better or worse; and the feds simply do not have the resources to monitor each and every pornographer and their each and every move. They wish they had, but they don’t, and that’s the reality.

In any event, I wish the best of luck for John Stagliano and Co.

  12. He President,
Go ask Stagliano, orMax, or rob if it hasnt changed a thing. Or ask the child pornographer Jeff Leibman that Sou SIrkin represented who was also found guilty. Funny how the adult biz doesnt mention that Sirkin was defending CHILD ponographers.(Adultfyi did run an article after I started a thread on XPT)

  13. As Sirkin said about the child pornography,,,”These images are open to interpetation.” Funny how all the free speech advocates in the porn biz decied to keep as quiet as possible about this. Doesnt look to good when the adult industry’s most acclaimed lawyer defend chid pornography.

  14. Colonel
The fact is there is not enough law enforcement for anything. White collar crime, blue collar crime, you name it. Theres not enough Highway partol to stop all the speeders, but they get those they can, and those people pay the price. The ‘everybody is doing defense might look good on a website chatboard, but iot doesnt fly in a court of law. And some might say that that is enough of a deternet to prevent some people from doing it.
Same thing wiht OSHA. Of course they dont have enough manpower to inspect every single workplace, but the fear of an inspection is enough to make businesses follow the rules. Why do you think VIVD applied for a ‘variance’ from OSHA on the 5193 statute?

  15. The Colonel says:

    Joe Know says:

‘The fact is there is not enough law enforcement for anything. White collar crime, blue collar crime, you name it. There’s not enough highway patrol to stop all the speeders, but they get those they can, and those people pay the price.’

I agree with the first part of your statement: There is not enough law enforcement for anything. As for the second part of your statement, I agree that if somebody does something wrong and harm others (i. e. Max Hardcore) he deserves to be punished. I have no problem with that. However, the fact about John Stagliano is that he didn’t do anything wrong. His company Evil Angel distributed two movies, produced and directed by two other people, containing material (religious references, milk enema, etc.) that some might find offensive and define as obscenity. If anything, the law enforcement should have gone after the people who produced and directed the movies, not the person who distributed them for a %30 profit share. The reason they’re going after Stagliano is because he’s an influential and powerful pornographer, and they tend to turn him into a sacrificial lamb and make an example out of him; and that’s what I find objectionable. Furthermore and contrary to law enforcement’s assumption, it’s not going to change anything. It’ll be business as usual in the porn valley whether Stagliano goes to prison or walks out free.

Look at the material that’s being released everyday, for instance check out kink.com and their various affiliate web sites: Anal fisting, enema, pissing, etc. How any of that is more or less obscene than the material in those two movies Stagliano distributed? The answer is not any different, if not more extreme. And how did the case against Stagliano effect the porn market? The answer is it had no effects whatsoever, otherwise companies like kink.com wouldn’t be doing what they’re doing now.

  16. Hey Colonel, this has nothing to do with Stagliano although I will say the “father of gonzo” ripped off most of his style from the Japanese–but whatever.

I was watching this scene from a fairly old vid right just now (All About Ass 10) and the performer was so HOT–all natural with so much enthusiasm. I was like “Damn, who is this chick with the cute face and great body?” Yeah, that was Ruby. I just want to get an opinion of her from you because, in my eyes, that’s a five star chick.

  17. Larry Horse says:

Ruby in the Buttman days, awesome!

  18. The Colonel says:

You know Origen, in regards to gonzo sub-genre, it could be said that John Stagliano took some ideas from the Japanese, like the horror genre and the comic books did: These new wave big budget torture porn movies are heavily inspired by the independent low budget Japanese horror movies from the 80’s and the 90’s; and one cannot deny the influence of Anime on comic artists like Todd McFarlane, Jim Lee and Michael Turner. And that’s not necessarily a bad thing.

As for Ruby, she’s a grade A performer, all the way: Natural looks, real enthusiasm, good attitude, etc. She had a short but impressive performing career, and anytime she wants she can come back and show these new girls what it takes to be a porn star.

  19. jeremiahsteele says:

The whole notion of defining “obscenity” in a community sense is obscene, Colonel. I decry the obscenity of greed, the obscenity of violence and war, the obscenity of untruth indoctrinated into our collective (un)consciousness, the obscenity of lack of creativity and (anything other than near-sighted) vision, the obscenity of the notion that we have no right to choose, for ourselves, as individuals, to determine what is obscene and further; to necessarily absorb obscenity, itself, in order to know and distingush it from what we would each determine as not obscene.

Here’s an image from an 18th century book decreed as “obscene”. To me it looks rather beautiful.
    http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/1/1b/%C3%89douard-Henri_Avril_%289%29.jpg

  20. The Colonel says:

    Right you are, Jeremy.

The whole notion of defining obscenity is ridiculous, what’s obscene to one is beautiful to another, so what? I agree that there must be boundaries and lines which should not be crossed, but such boundaries and lines must be determined based on whether one’s actions inflict actual harm on others (i.e. Max Hardcore), not based on a vague definition of obscenity.

I can take my laptop to the deli store where I buy sandwich and show any clip from any Vivid or Wicked softcore feature to the fat lady who wraps sandwich there, and I guarantee she will find it obscene. The jurors who will determine John Stagliano’s fate in the upcoming trail are not any different from the fat lady at the deli store, a bunch of bored, old, fat, lazy losers summoned to perform their civil duties, and there’s a good chance they throw the book at Stagliano. But as I said earlier the outcome of Stagliano’s court is not going to change anything. Porn is about one thing and one thing primarily: Making money, and as long as people are willing to pay to watch strangers fuck on film there will always be those who make such films and distribute them. I’m sure anybody at kink.com will tell you that.

  21. jeremiahsteele says:

It’s funny if Max is such a bad guy that they would have to incarcerate him based on complete bullshit.

Damn, I was doing a youtube search on cannabis and I fucking see Sophia Mounds! WTF!?

  22. Larry Horse says:

After seeing that link I proceeded to what I thought was another Sophia scene and saw a trailer for some porn with that scum sucker Johnny Thrust…though there was a pot connection, Billy Glide was in the preview too.
