Deaf Porn Star Savannah Jane Leaves Porn and Joins Pink Cross Foundation in Vegas!

I first met Adina, known as Porn Star Savannah Jane, at EroticaLA in June, 2008, and we began talking through email. Pink Cross Foundation reached out to her with a care package and lots of love and our friendship blossomed. I will never forget when I first met her that I immediately saw her intelligence and amazing heart. She is a wonderful Jewish woman from Florida with a Social Worker’s degree from Rochester Institute of Technology and has also been a bounty hunter in the Los Angeles area. She is no dumb woman! But amazingly, she is deaf and still has persevered through so much in life.
I asked her why she entered porn and she told me she was going through a divorce and the bills piled up. It’s always about the money. But girls rarely understand they will actually pay a higher price than any amount of money the porn industry will pay them!
Adina paid a huge price. Destroyed relationships. She caught Gonorrhea and several yeast infections. She was physically abused on the set. Torn body parts. Subjected to drugs. Yeah she paid a huge price and all the money she made she spent on beauty and the porn lifestyle. Now she’s speaking out and wants the porn industry to stop abusing women.
A social worker by training, she entered porn in July, 07 and decided she’d had enough and quit porn in January, 2009, joining Pink Cross Foundation at AEE Convention in Las Vegas. It was so awesome to see her and have her part of our team! (Look at that big smile to the left!)

Adina has been very honest with me sharing about her childhood and how her father beat her often when she was growing up. She says he even put a belt around her neck and hung her up in an elevator when she ran away at 12 years old. She went through much abuse most of her life. By the time her father began to hurt her sisters they sent Child Protective services out to investigate but she was already gone.
She left home at 15 and moved to Washington D.C. where she attended model secondary school for the deaf and received some college credits at University of Maryland. She left 6 months shy of graduating to come home since Hurricane Andrew hit and lived with her grandmother to finish high school in Miami.
Any help you can offer to Adina and any of the girls who come to Pink Cross Foundation is greatly appreciated. We have many women coming to us for help but not enough donations so we hope many of you will see how worthy this cause is and help us continue to make a real difference. We appreciate all of you who have given to Pink Cross Foundation. It’s because of YOU women are leaving porn and getting second chances in life. I thank God for your heart to care about women trapped in porn. Together we will pull them out and help them become Champions in life!

Adina says she’s been nothing but abused by men. She writes to me, “The consequences from porn are not worth it. The money you make doesn’t pay, it only pays to keep you beautiful while you’re in the business but the consequences you serve after doing porn is not worth it.
I have lost my family, my career, some friends, and my chance of becoming an ATF officer.”
Adina has many challenges. She is deaf and uses a Cochlear implant. It is necessary for her to hear. Because the implant is considered a “luxury item” her insurance doesn’t cover it. She only has one but she really needs an implant for both ears.
Last year she also had breast cancer. The doctors will be doing a second biopsy and if it shows up positive, she will have to undergo a double mastectomy. She has many doctor bills and is struggling to get them paid.
Pink Cross Foundation wants to help Adina in any way we can. We would love to help her find a safer place to live, a good job and help pay medical bills or find her a doctor who will volunteer services to help her. We’ve already begun working on a resume for her. Her hope is to come to Los Angeles to be near Pink Cross and other ex porn stars who can support her in her recovery.

Typical porn chick story. I heard from active and retired cick similar stories, desperate for money, abusive background, self esteem issues. And porn in the end will make all issues worse.
I do not agree with Shelley’s attention grabbing stunts or with “her Jesus in the ONLY answer” (what about the agnostic, jewish or buddist girls?) stance, but in the land of the blind, the one eyed man is king(Yes, not that one eye!).
But if she is genuine about trying to help some girls well, guess I fine with that. I have told some girls who are in real danger of going to a early grave to think of her as a option but not as the only one.

But I assume you should have some idea about her and probably want to defend her for whatever reason. So you tell me what’s on your mind and I’ll answer you.
