Playboy Comments On Payroll Issue

I just spoke at length with Matt Kalinowski from the publicity group at Playboy Entertainment Group regarding our payroll story. At first he said the reason the employees didn’t get paid was they waited more than 90 days to deposit their payroll checks. I pointed out that the checks were issued in late December, only 45 days ago, well inside any check delinquency period.

Once he realized the mathematical impossibilities there, he contacted Playboy HR which had nothing to say other than, "This is a process."

  3. Playboy has been around for decades. They should have their shit together by now. Don’t you think?

This does not explain the bounced checks, but …

Playboy has just reported a fourth-quarter loss of $1.1 million, or 3 cents a share, compared with profit of $3.7 million, or 11 cents, a year earlier. Analysts had forecast a profit of 5 cents a share.

Christie Hefner: “”We were also opportunistic in the sale of several pieces of art.””

So is Playboy having a garage sale just to pay the bills?(tongue in cheek) I wonder how much art was sold for it to be put in their press release.

You know Guccione put his art up as collateral when his empire really started to sink. Hmmm.

  8. Is Guccione still alive? What the hell happened to him?

  9. Larry Horse says:

    He’s still ticking, barely.
